Roaming overseas

I have a Blackberry Bold 9650 and was thinking of purchasing a prepaid local SIM card when I travel to Israel. I found out today that neither AT&T nor T-Mobile will allow the transmission of data on their prepaid SIM cards for foreigners traveling to the U.S. That got me wondering whether it would be the same with regard to foreign cellphone service providers. If so, then I can think of only two practical choices if I want to take advantage of inexpensive phone calls while overseas but still want to receive My data. These two choices are:

1. Purchase a cheap unlocked GSM phone to use for phonecalls where I install a local SIM card and sign up for the Verizon international roaming package to receive my data on my Blackberry utilizing my Ve...

ques for reps - service in Turkey

Going to Turkey in September and have a Blackberry Tour. What should I do for service overseas? What are my options for having phone and internet service at a reasonable price? I'm going into my Verizon store today to discuss with them, but would like to be halfway informed on some options before I get there. Thanks for your help.

When is the Pantech Jest going to be restocked??

Been trying to order this phone for 2 weeks now and it's always out of stock. Are they ever gonna replenish or what? Need to replace a phone on my family's line yesterday...and they're not interested in the Cosmos or Intensity II.

The Connect Plan - Wishful Thinking (Lol)

I kinda wish Verizon would bring back the connect plan because it made plans a bit more cheaper and affordable if you wanted unlimited data and texting for all in one plan...lol

Incredible is driving me crazy

This freakin phone is about to ruin my life! 50% of the time I try and answer a call (phone in pocket or belt case) it hangs up on the caller. It has a horrible signal and places where I used to have no problems with my vzw phone get no signal. I can't use it in half my house and I had no problems with my VX-9400.

I just got back from a business trip and rarely could use it in the hotel. My boss has a basic verizon phone and had a great signal while I had to spend over $300 in long distance charges from the hotel phone. Frequently after I hang up it calls a recent number if my finger gets anywhere near the screen. The other day I was at a computer store and my wife heard me in the restroom at the urinal and while I was washing my hands. S...

Verizon 3G is getting flaky where I live now...

I moved to Lansing, MI back in March for work. My service was decent at first (not as good and consistent as back in Metro Detroit).

After a couple of months I noticed a big difference in service quality. It went down.

And just today I realized that I wasn't getting any data for the last day. I accidentally opened GMail instead of Google in my browser and saw I had a ton of unread emails, but nothing on my phone. I then tried to launch other apps and nothing. I could make voice calls, but no 3G data!

I had to resort to restarting the connection (turn off/on the wireless) to get data back up and running, but even then it was still flaky and still is.

What the hell is going on in this zone? Please tell me I'm dealing with this l ...

LG Clout nice phone...

The LG Clout VX70 is a sweet flip phone the best flip in several years...VZW needed a good phone not everyone likes touch screens...I kept my LG Dare for a year, but missed having a flip...You have too purchase it from VZW Indirect dealer as VZW Corp isn't selling them yet...VZW is stuck with all the LG VX8360 phones since they required data...Gee you would think VZW was smarter than that VX8360 sales are flat...

Anyone looking for a big bang for their buck should check out the LG Clout VX8370...

Antivirus for smartphones

My Droid X is my first true smartphone and I'm amazed at how these things really are like having a computer in your pocket. With all they can do on-line and all the apps and things you can download and run, it just seems to reason that a good antivirus program would be wise to have. I saw a free one called Lookout in the Android Marketplace so I decided to give it a try. Everythings seems ok (I guess) but my battery seems to have dropped faster than normal today. Is this a normal side effect to running antivrus? Is the one I'm using a good one? Is there a better one? Any suggestions are appreciated!

Hate me as much as I hate Big Red.

I know many of you constantly complain about posts about the iphone coming to Verizon. I would like to say that I am sorry but...I'm not.

I FINALLY DECIDED

🤣

For those of you that have been coming here seeing my posts about being undecided on what phone to get, I've finally made my decision. I am going with the Droid X. It was down to this or the Droid 2. I read some different reviews on the Droid 2's keyboard not really being that much better but figured specs wise I can adjust to the Droid X.

Thanks for reading

Storm3 release in October

What are the odds that VZW will allow the people that purchased Storm2's not long ago upgrade to the S3? I'm not saying NE2 or anything but say for re-signing a 2yr and getting S3 for say... $199?

Account Manager (Not Owner) Abilities

What are the limitations of just being the account manager versus being the actual account owner?

Can the account manager authorize a transfer of liability?

WoW!!! Verizon has !!12!! Android smartphones coming this year!

Damn that's a lot! Personally I think Verizon should postpone the Motorola & Samsung tablets until the end of 1Q of 2011 and put 700'hz LTE in them.

There are also low-end Androids mentioned. Such as lower specced Droid X, same size screen, lower mp camera & lower processor for a lower price point.

Very interesting stuff! Check it out for yourself.
