Right now i have the Phone LG VX-9800. For some reason i am just bored with this phone now. Its kind of big and its not like it even has a cool AIM like the side kick to use the keyboard for. I was even thinking about going to T mobile just to get the sidekick because of the AIM ( with a full budy list and doesnt use up normal text messages which puts me over on my bill all the time). CTIA Wireless begins Weds. next week in Las Vegas. Besides the well know Q, there is one new RAZR and another Moto phone in testing. LG has at least one phone in testing as well. Here is the scenario:

My e815 has been messed up for a while and VZW has offered me to get out of my contract, a brand new 815 or some crappy standarized LG phone, but what I really want is a $175 credit towards the purchase of a new phone (wait till something better comes out) but they wont budge. I am now contemplating leaving VZW. Isnt illogical that VZW would rather me leave than keep me on board for $175 credit?

About to make the jump to VZW from Nextel. Can anyone in "the know" tell me if I should wait until the first of the month for any new deals on phones or plans. Thanks for anyone who can help.

It is AWFUL!

Even though the service is pretty good, it is enough to drive away customers who wan't a UI that's halfway decent.

I understand the idea behind doing it (making poeple feel comfortable when upgrading from one phone to another, etc..), but do they really beleive someone using the RAZR or LG9800/8100 wants the same UI as, oh let's say the LG VX3300. Come on!

Not the biggest deal to some, but enough to keep me away (along w/ outrageously priced calling plans) and stick w/ Sprint.

on verizon easy pay can i use the vcast service?

and also can i use get it now, ringback tones, and the mp3 player(memory card)(lg8100)?

Anyway....I get new phones a lot because I get bored easily with them. When something new comes out I usually get it. Since I am not due for upgrades I pay full retail. I thought then, that my eligibility date to get a discounted phone would always be the same (every 22 months or now actually every 12 since I am a Merits Member now) regardless of how many times I bought a phone at full retail. Well, I knew it had been awhile since I got a discounted phone so I called CS to see when I would be eligible again (planned on using it for the 870 when it comes out). They told me that my last upgrade was 3-2-06! Well that is when I last purchased a phone, full retail, so I thought they misunderstood...

Nextel,

If most companies like Sprint/Nextel Cingular etc, count their MVNO's as part of their customer base, what would one think if Verizon counted theirs. Far as I know Vzw does not count any. Apm'd or Tracfone (Not that it would count as much), but wouldn't that make them closer to taking the #1 spot if not... take it.

Please enlighten me.

I just got a razr phone & my least favorite color is red, and of course on the main screen there are red bars at the top and bottom. Is there any way to change this? The verizon people tell me it's in display themes, but when I change that nothing happens to it.

Please let there be a way to change this!

Motorola RAZR Still Dominating US Handset Sales

Merrill Lynch has carried out another of its interesting shop visits, taking in 80 stores in 4 USA regions. Following their store visits, they are maintaining their own estimates for handset sales, which do tend to be about 10% above industry expectations. Both Verizon Wireless and Sprint Nextel are expected to add 1.6 million customers each in Q1, with Cingular picking up 1.2 million and T-Mobile around 950,000 new customers.

In the store front, independent shop staff are not looking forward to yet another major rebranding exercise, probably next year as Cingular changes to AT&T. They are just recovering from the Sprint Nextel rebranding program, and it wasn't that long ago that the Cing...

I consider myself a gadget person, I might not buy every new little toy, but for the most part I see how it can fill a need for someone out there. This one kinda throws me though. Its a BT handset...without the phone. It simply relays the calls from the handset, like a BT headset, but without the convienience of being handsfree, although I'm sure it would support some sort of headset. Perhaps it is just me, and I'm willing to accept that, but does anyone out there think they would use a device like this? how many would purchase it for the approx $150 price tag they have suggested.

I have heard Verizon will stop using analog altogether sometime in the next 12 to 18 months. Can someone confirm this for me?

By the way, I have been very pleasantly surprised by the performance of my Razr. I had until the end of February to upgrade and take advantage of by NE2 money, so, even though I was fairly happy with the Nokia 6256i I got free from a friend, I wanted to test drive the Razr anyhow, fully expecting to return it within the grace period. Cingulars 1000 anytime minutes for 39.99. Sure norollover or weekend minutes but still a good deal 😕 I guess verizon is feeling no fear.

For the last few weeks we have noticed at our store that credit and activations have been letting customer upgrade long before their equipment eligibility date... my coworker upgraded a guy who just upgraded six months ago...what is going? Could it be glitches in the system?

👿 Ok so I am an employee of Verizon and i'm raving mad right now. Does anyone know how to make the v-cast music downloads as your ringtones? Also if anyone has used freeingers.net you can make you own downloads and send them to your phone and I used to be able to do that with my V710 and now when I get the message nothing plays? Now I know there is someone out there who has figured this out please help me out with this because even as an employee I was a customer before I worked for them and still don't agree with there ethics, they do rip you off in some ways!

What is the purpose of this forum? All I see is customers and employees of other carriers trying to persuade us into believing their carrier is better than Verizon.

I'm a everday wireless user. I do not work for any wireless carrier. I am a brand new Verizon customer - just switched from Cingular due to better coverage and call quality. I tried Sprint for about 3 hours and returned that crap back to them as quickly as I could get back to the their store.

I like the Verizon UI. No complaints here. I thought this forum was to learn more about Verizon phones and service - am I wrong?

PS - I am a very happy customer with Verizon. Best service by far for me.
