Ok I was thinking about buying this phone but had a few questions. I will not be using the unlimited data plan, i have no need for it, i want mainly the planner, bluetooth,camera, text. My question is about the wifi. I have a wireless router at my house that i use my laptop with. My question is can i use that wireless servcie in my house to connect this to the internet at no cost when i am at home? I saw in another thread there is a way to set the phone so the phone and wifi will work at the same time? is that correct. So basically i will just use it as a phone, but when i am at home i would like to hook up to the web at no cost through my exsisting wireless router and have the phone still receive calls and text while i am using that functio...

Hmm as of dislikes... where do I start... :confused:

1. Overpriced TXT plans. (They cost a 1/10 of data of one second of a phone call... were talking bytes here people)
2. Overpriced Data plans. (They literally have per MB plans still. I remember when dial up first came out and there was a set rate per MB from some ISPs. That was 12 years ago!!!! Also there PDA UNlimited Data plan is 3 times more the other carriers)
3. Crippled Bluetooth
4. Cripple Interface
5. Low end phones that are expensive (Does anyone realize that Verizon Wireless does not subsidize? It's all a lie... it did happen a god 8+ years ago, but now they pay on average $60 a month per phone and charge you 4x more for it. There is a reason...

I was just wondering, if Verizon (or any otehr carrier) came out with a SMS device ( a device that was a "phone" but could not be used to make calls, just send texts msg's, like a portable Instant Messenger), first off would any of you be interested in such a device (I would as I text more than I call any more) and two how much woul you pay for a data package with like X amount of texts, with free Verizon to Verizon texts, or even possibly an unlimited text option? Wat do you think would be fair, or what would be the norm, based on phone minute packages already? Just a thought.

Ok, so I brought my number to Verizon from T-Mo. Even the calls were clearer on T-Mo, I guess I'm still to make a decision (10 days left on 14 day trail period) Anyway, I just tried to call customer service in order to make a few changes (that can't be done on website) but customer service is closed. 😲 Closed??? 😲
What ever happened to: "we never stop working for you!" It was a shocker when I got that recording asking me to call back during Vzw business hrs.
I guess those guys that work on the "network" need some sleep to. 😎
If things don't work out with Vz (I dropped my first call made at home) I might try Cingular. My sister has nothing but good things to say about Cingy. Well, I now wonder if Cingy has 24 hr cust service? hmmmm...

I just bought a Verizon Razr. And on the main screen there is a red bar at the top an bottom of the screen with some information such as batt. level and signal strength. They are ugly and you cant see the full background picture that I paid 1.99 for. I want them off my phone! Can anyone help me with this? I have two friends with a different service and the same phone and they dont have those red bars. So any help would be great. Thanks....

80 year old man comes in today. He has a line with Verizon that he signed up in August of last year through Radio Shack. He has the 5.00 in messaging. Said he never wanted text..doesn't even know how to do it or why he would want it. He went to the stand in Walmart (where he works as a greeter) to ask about his bill. "The don't do billing" is the answer he gets. Hummm...they have access to Eroes just like me...anyway, I get his account fixed up.

So Walmart is so happy to sell Verizon Wireless but they refuse to help any customers. What do they think? They treat them just like they bought a 9 dollar toaster. It's yours...have questions? Call the manufacture. Freaking idiots.

I just saw an add in the ATlanta paper that the Verizon has the RAZR for $99 after rebate and that you can get them buy one get one free. This seems like a good deal. Does anyone have any details? Is it color specific, any data plan requirements, etc. The add did not seem to be long on those kinds of specifics.

Any info would be appreciated.

i have been reading this forum for the past year and i find myself just shaking my head and sumtimes i actually have to walk away from the computer. if there are soooo many people in this forum that hate vzw so much why the hell are you in here? go chat it up with cingulars forum or nextels. it just seems quite idiotic to me that youd spend all your free time in a forum picking on the big guy. get a life.

and as far as the new standard UI. shut the hell up about it, it has a 86.2% approval rating, and for almost 50 million customers thats good. so its not gunna change. get over it, and complain about something else.

as far as crippling the phones. you all are a bunch of hypocrits. you complain b/c we allow features that can mess up y...

All i ever hear is that vzw has no nice phones. what makes a nice phone? that its all black and either thin or odd shaped? all you people are concerned with is looks.

please find me one (non pda) gsm phone thats better then the LG VX-8100(just an example)

Does anyone have any specific information about VZW coming to Oklahoma anytime soon? I'm interested in information regarding OKC, Tulsa, and Lawton? My contract is up with Cingular and I want to move my lines to VZW, but there is no service in these areas yet.

If this isn't happening anytime soon, I may sign up with US Cellular in the meantime - but I'll wait for VZW if it will happen this year.

This phone is slated for LATE May, this comes from inside info. This is the Treo 700 with Palm software.
