Phone prices

Do any of you have an educated guess on when VZW will drop prices on the "new phones" like the the V or the Razr? I wouldn't mind buying one but I would rather wait until the price drops a little. Yes, I will be paying retail since I am not yet eligible for an upgrade.

I was curious what the industry standard was as far as dropping prices, if there is one. Do they fall when newer phones come out, when the sales of the phone fall, or does it just depend on the carrier?

New Every 2 phone return

I just upgraded my phone with the new every 2 thing, and I also did it on-line which gave me a 50 dollar discount making the cost of the phone free. I got the CDM 8940. I am not happy with the phone in general, but also my screen keep freezing. I just recieved the phone yesterday. My first question is am I going to be able to do a in store exchange/return even though I upgraded on their website? My second question is since I am not thrilled with the phone overall will they give me the chance to get a different phone all together or just a new CDM 8940?

Thanks to anyone who has any answers for me.

Contract Question

My contract expires with Verizon in February... I have not decided if I am going to stay with them (or switch to Cingulair) or purchase a new phone from them and sign a new contract...

How long do i have to use the discounts on a new phone once they become eligible (I am not using NE2 because I was only on a 1yr contract, so I only get a discount/rebate)? Also, what happens if I do not cancel but i don't reactive my contract either? Will it automatically sign me up for a new year or just go month to month?

Thanks in advance.....

Poll: who's getting tired of all the fighting?

Who cares if DKVZW or whoever is posting stuff noone really cares for? It's his right, and as I say to all the uptight soccer moms out there, if you don't like what's being said on the tv/radio/net/ change the flippin channel. the PhoneScoop Ninja Army is not making you read each and every post about positive/negative customer/employee experiances. They're too busy clearing all the dead hookers from Don Mike's bar in the Lounge.

Now all of you, play nice or go stand in the corner. If you want to critique any person or policy out there, then formulate a well written post citing the exact nature of your feeling, as well as any proof or sources. Much like an essay. "So-and so must be a Troll/Employee and you, my friend Suxors" s not well wri...

V-CAST Music

Reading the details of V-Cast Music, it appears the service is only available to those who subscribe to the $15/month V-Cast Pack. V-Cast Music would be a compelling service that would drive customer retention and additions if it were a stand-alone service.

I would like to hear the opinion of current and former V-Cast subscribers regarding the value of the service. It seems to me that you have to pay for each individual download of music, 3D games and most videos. The only thing that the subscription fee gets you are downloads to a few non-fee based news/sports/weather videos.

I think the service would generate greater revenue and drive customer retention/addition if anyone who purchased a V-Cast capable phone was automatically given a...

Any suggestions??

My 1yr contract expired and I am on month to month. I plan to stay with Verizon and have no problem signing a 2yr. So...

1)should I sign a 2yr? - If I sign a 1yr, I can get a discount in 10 months

2)can I use an indirect agent since I am month to month?

3)Should I sign up again through VZW without buying a new phone? or should I get a new phone and sell it on ebay? or should I get a new phone and sell my current v710? (I don't use bluetooth or anything right now.

Thanks.

EVDO Router due out Feb 1 (plug in EVDO card or current phone)

Ok, so you are still unsure how to maximize your EVDO handset phone by tethering it to a PDA or laptop?

Well on Feb 1st an affordable EVDO router will be available from Kyocera/Dlink. While a few other EVDO routers already exist, they cost $700 or more. This one is fully featurd and only costs $200

This is going to change the EVDO Card industry as we know it. Just go out and buy a Verizon or Sprint EVDO card, plug it into the router, and SHazaam! You now have wifi internet for all your wifi internet enabled devices. Take it to work, take it on vacation, take it to a hotel, to a board meeting, give everyone wifi access to the internet.

While at the CES show in vegas I was looking at this box adn talking with a rep from Kyocera. Whi...

Q4 Results Due Soon - Is Verizon Just Gonna Romp Again?

Its almost that time again.

For what its worth, I kinda hope Verizon DOESN'T smoke everyone like it has been the last several quarters.

While I love the service & CS (which has been great), I'm gettin' kinda sick of VZW's feature-crippling ways (bluetooth, mp3s) and would like to see SOMEONE put the fear o' god into 'em and make 'em 'play nice' with their customers.

Unfortunately, I don't think that's gonna happen anytime soon. The competition jus' doesn't seem like its there yet. ☹️

Mobile Office kit, teethering and inpulse

Okay heres my questions....

Can you use the mobile office kit, to teether a verzion cell phone- if it's under the "inpulse plan" prepaid plan?

can you use the mobile office kit to teether a verzion cell phone- if it under the "Easy Pay" prepaid plan?

Do you have to use the "mobile office kit" or verzion supplied "data cable" to get on the internet via teethering to the laptop? Can you use other third party software or does it have to be verzions? Can you use the data cable thats you can get off the internet?

Is using the mobile office kit faster than dial up?

Or would it be better to use the kit to call out to another isp?

Add a line for $9.99 will cost you $19+ with Insurance or $14+ w/o in NYC

Real NYC Prices
---------------

Add a line for $9.99 will cost you $20-/+ with Insurance or $14-$15 +/- w/o in NYC. Thats about 34% more than advertized.

Early term will cost you about $210 and change in NYC (not $175).

Whatever price plan you're on, you're paying about 20% more in fees in NYC.

So if you're on a $99.99 Plan You'll pay about 116.00 to 120.00.

If you have a two year contract thats $384(low estimate) $480/high estimate in Surcharges and Taxes.

Ok This is what i think

Here we go again ladies and gentlemen. DKVZW registered on this site just eleven days ago and since he has littered this forum and and only this forum with petty complaints and slanderous lies according to his post history. His his most recent post "the history of the baby bells" just proves to me that he is some kind of lobbyist or works for another wireless provider. In a post earlier he stated that he was just preaching the unfairness of the wireless industry and there was no specific target then my question to him is why not post in all the carrier forums why come on and trash verizon wireless. The dirtybill link isn't even for a verizon WIRELESS bill its for a land line bill and has no relevance to this forum what so ever. Not to i...

A Bit-o-Help

Hello fellow "scoopers"

I have a bit of a dilemma that I hope you can help me with.

I currently work in the Midwest for a Verizon Agent. Over the past year we have developed a bit of a problem. I have phones that need to have repairs made to them, but I really don't know where to send them. I have sent back as many to VZW as possible, but due to esn/box mismatches and such not all can be returned.

I was wondering if anyone out there knows of a good repair center that works on multi-manufactures phones. I know I could send to the Manufactures repair center, but with what they charge it makes it very uneconomical to do so.

Do you know of a repair center that’s reasonable and does quality work in a timely manner, if so, let ...

When will Verizon listen to their customers?

As a wireless customer I never signed up for my phone software to be altered from what the manufacturer programmed it to do (such as when you buy a computer you expect to control what can go on it and get things off it) nor do I expect my service provider to control what I see and can install on my phone (do you expect AOL or any ISP to control what you can install on you computer I think not). Verizon, our phones are our phones, not yours, not yours to control, your mobile web 2.0 is not web its mobile restriction. Needless to say start listening to the complaints and stop caging us in to only use what you provide us, and instead let us seek and find other choices online, maybe we'll stick with you when our contracts expire.

Increase minutes without extending contract?

As a result of an unexpected emergency (a friend's father died) I've used a ton of minutes on my cell phone this past week. As it stands I've only got about 100 minutes left and I'm not even half way through my billing cycle.

I'm on a 450 minute $39.99 rate plan and would like to jump up to the next tier just this month to avoid going over my minutes. Problem is, I was told I was on an "older rate plan" so changing my plan would mean extending my contract which I'm not sure I want to do.

I thought part of the "worry free guarantee" was that you could change your plan anytime without extending your contract. I'm confused as to how I can be on the older plan when my current plan is still listed on Verizon's website.

Is there any way ...
