Mobile Office

OK, so does anyone actually know WHERE you can download Mobile Office s/w version 5.5.1 from? I already own an earlier version of Mobil Office. Someone 'claiming' to be a VZ employee says that this will work with the 8100, but of course doesn't follow up by offering any info on where it is available, if so. I've searched and don't find any site that offers the later s/w for a download. After reading these forums, I'm starting to wonder if VZ doesn't intentionally have some of their employees working in these forums just to spread a disinformation campaign and further confuse people who are obviously less then happy with VZ products and service. That would fit in with the contradictory information we usually get when we talk with VZ employees...

Can You Hear Us Customers Now

We are Verizon Wireless... Our phones are not limited to our network.. You can use then on any network that will let you... And, you can use any carrier's phone on our network as long as the ESN is loaded in our system.. You can use any phone on our network that has been loaded in our system... We do not manufacture phones.. We are not a phone manufacturer.. We do not restrict the software... You can put any software you like, as long as you can find it and find a way to upload it..

Very cute.

I should try to the same tune.

We are Verizon Wireless, the Phones We don't Manufacture for our network you cannot use anywhere else. Since we request our phones to be jacked up with software that Qualcomm so happily helped us develop. I...

Data Cables?

On the Verizon accessories site, it looks like you can only buy a data cable in a $30 package which includes a CD and headphones.

1) Is this correct, or can I buy the cable alone for less?

2) If so, where can I do this?

3) What is on the "V-Cast Music Essentials Kit" CD that I need? Won't it work to transfer without that?

Thanks in advance!

VZW V710 Settlement Update

Has anyone else filled out the SECOND settlement form? I received my and did, but realized it is nearly identical to the first. What's the deal? I bet we will get to fill one of these out for every appeal VZW will make instead of just righting the situation.

I've selected to return the phone, since I knew after I had purchased it and went through enough loops with vzw that it would end up in the courts. I decided to wait it out hoping vzw will learn a lesson...maybe that was a bad choice. I should have just switched to cingular then and taken a hit on reliability. I noticed on the form something interesting though, it says "I want to return my V710...with or w/o accessories, (here is the important part) for a refund UP TO the purchase pri...

Which carrier is best?

I'm currently with Verizon, but am sick of them on many levels. However, I've heard that they are the best for plans and coverage and call quality.

I would like any feedback any of you who are knowledgeable and familiar w/ both VZW, and any of the other major carriers in my area - Sprint, T-Mobile, Cingular - to provide any feedback you may have.

Thanks!!

Question about Verizon awful customer service

I know Verizon has great phone service, but I have decided that because of the awful customer service I have received by Verizon in the past 2 years I won't be renewing my contract.....the last time I talked to a service rep I told them I was going to port my 4 numbers and they were like "ok". I really consider this sad since I have been a loyal customer for 12 years now (GTE before they took over, I miss GTE ☚ī¸ ).

The question I have is, what company is close to as good in call quality in the Silicon Valley area with a good and caring customer service? If anyone has any pointers please let me know.

Thanks

LINK TO A Real Petition from the people who have had PRIOR Success.

😁

Hear Us Now, had success in getting FCC to extend the truth in billing initiatives to wireless carriers.

http://www.hearusnow.org/wireless/14/ »

Is a petition to have the FCC investigate wireless carrier practices, their computations of early term fees, unknow charges etc...

You can only sign it once if you're cookied.
They will remove un-real info.

Question - Removing/Disabling Get It Now/Other Pay Services?

Let's say I'm a corporate entity (15+ employees), or buying service for someone under 18.

I don't want (either) to go crazy with Get It Now and rack up charges that I would be responsible for, is there any way to:

Disable "Get it Now Access" either with VZW of remove the Menu from the Phone?

I know cable companies have a way of shutting off pay-per-view or blocking access to it via passcode.

Anyone know?

Lincoln/Fremont, Nebraska now VZW

Starting today (at least according to the Lincoln Journal-Star) Lincoln and Fremont, Nebraska have been added to the Verizon Wireless network with "native" coverage. VZW acquired the licenses previously held by Qwest Wireless in these markets and have converted them to Verizon.

This is a good deal for those of us in Omaha who spend a lot of time in Lincoln, plus now our Blackberries will work in Lincoln too.

Question

Ok, the 8100 was pulled temporarily to add the VCAST music (v06) software onto it and therefore it won't be available again until Monday, which is when VCAST music launches. Well....VCAST music will also be available on the 950 and Samsung even introduced the "re-relase" of it for Monday, so why has IT not been pulled to add this software? Why is it still available? I know in all the VCAST Music info it states that if you already have these two phones, you can bring them in and get them updated, but that still doesn't explain why the 8100 is temp. unavailable and not the 950. Just incredibly curious.

POLL

Curious 😁

I have a couple questions for those interested in answering.

1.Why did you choose verizon and would you do it again?

2. If you did go with another carrier which one and why?

I was sold verizon service close to seven years ago when I knew nothing about cellular. I continue to stay because of good service. I'm an avid hiker and tell myself I like having access to analog, but every time I have an analog signal while hiking it never can call out

I would probably choose verizon again, but if it wasn't an option I would go with T-mobile. I live in Washington State which is T-mobile headquarters and they have this area very well covered. I have several friends with T-mobile and I must admit it sounds better then verizon
