Oooh this is eff'd up!!! The Droid X becomes a brick if you try to access the bootloader!

I read in the link below that if you try to access the bootloader on the Droid X (likely the Droid 2 also) that the boot files will get corrupted, and it won't be able to turn on!!! I really wish these corporation would learn that once a consumer pays for something with their own $ that it's their property!

A lot of you on Phone Scoop tend to support corporations rights over consumer rights, but I think this should be a lawsuit against Motorola for essentially controlling a piece of property that !!BELONGS!! to the consumer!

Plus this is totally against the supposed oppeness of Android!

Here's the link:

What the Devil is going on?

Has something happened to VZW's signal or has RIM's latest OS done something to their signal indicator? 😳
Let's see, 2 bolds, 1 storm 2, and now a tour later, they've all done the same thing. Erratic signal indicator, full bars, no bars, some bars, no bars.....

I don't get it, I haven't had this trouble with VZW or their BB's in the past.
Connectivity hasn't been a problem though, voice gets a little choppy with low signal. But that's to be expected.

Droid X- Senstivity

I just got the Droid X and the screen is way too sensitive. I am not touching the screen very hard and the letters or numbers I push multiply. I called Verizon and Motorola and they have no fixes. Has anyone else experienced this (I know we all just got ours) but I'm trying to avoid returning the phone due to the back order. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks.

How different is Android 2.2?

I just got the Droid X yesterday. This is my first Android phone and I'm slowly learning it and getting used to it. My question is, when they do the upgrade to 2.2, how different is it going to be? I know it's supposed to be faster, but will it change what it looks like and how to use it? Am I going to have to re-learn all of this again?

Droid X or Galaxy S or ???

Who here's getting the Droid X, who's already gotten it, and who's waiting for the Galaxy S (or another upcoming phone)? I must say that I was impressed with the Droid X, but Sense UI (I have an Eris.) really has me spoiled. To me, it looks like Samsung's put more thought into UI enhancements, especially with the notification area. As long as Samsung's take on Android isn't as bad as its take on Windows Mobile, I'll look into buying the Galaxy S. Also, I'm still waiting to see how the GPU's performance compares between the Droid X and the Galaxy S.

General question about putting movies on a phone.

I'm a total noob when it comes to this so please bear with me. Ya know how when you buy a movie on Blu-Ray and you get the tripple set that includes the Blu-ray disc, a regular DVD, and a digital copy also? How hard is it to put the digital copy on a phone like the Droid X? I've never tried it.

Price of Droid Incredible

Hi all,
I know the Droid X is due out later this week and that it will be $199. I was hoping the Droid Incredible will drop a little in price when the Droid X comes out. Anyone think this might happen?
TIA

Different Phone Time

Hey all, i am having alot of problems with my LG enV Touch and i was debating either if the Samsung Rogue would be a better phone for me. All i want it to do is not shut off on me, give me a good browsing experience and not reboot itself randomly. Is the Samsung Rogue phone alot better than the Touch? Im just tired of the Touch at this point!

Verizon claims they have sufficient supply of Droid X's for launch day.

Somehow I don't believe they will. There's never sufficient supply of anything on a products launch day, except for the now defunct Kin line.

Looks like I'll have the Droid X Today!

I have an awesome wife! I asked her if she would mind driving by the mall and just checking what the line is like at the Verizon store. (That store has confirmed 30 phones for this morning with another shipment arriving this afternoon). Anyhow, she just txted me...SHE'S 3rd IN LINE!!!!! 😁 I'm going to leave the office and head over there before they open at 10:00 to releive her. Looks promising!

Verizon LTE cities?

I have read about vzw having 25-30 cities running 4g lte by the end of this year, but I have not been able to find a list of the cities that are anticipated to be included. Is there any info out there about proposed 4g coverage areas within a time frame?

Incredible vs. X

Ok, I have an Incredible which I just got a week ago. I have no complaints with the phone at all. However, I did pre-order an X with best buy because, well, I'm a tech addict. HTC Sense is kind of hard to give up. I have a little more than a day to decide. Anyone else in the same position? Should I keep my Incredible? Thanks for your input 🙂

Voyager

Yes I still rock the Voyager and its on its last legs, The phone is close to dying and I was wondering if I called Verizon and put a claim in for a lost phone would they replace it with the ENV3? I want the Droid X but being out of work I cant afford the full upgrade price minus the NE2 however much that is.

Thanks

Sacrifice $100 NE2 Credit?

OK...I admit it. I'm a gadget junkie. I love cool new phones. The second year of my two-year contact always feels like 5 years. Here's my latest temptation: I just confirmed that I could upgrade my phone to the new Droid X this week (at the reduced price of $199) but no NE2 credit. If I wait 3 more months (an eternity) I could do it AND get my $100 NE2 credit. So the question is, do I wait 3 more months to save $100? Oh I already know what the responsible, adult thing to do is. But I really don't want to. I want a cool new phone. Now.
What would you do? 😕

Droid X Launch Kits Arrive

Got ours today. Phone is pretty big but I am excited about the screen. Think I may trade my HTC Incredible for one of these bad boys. Would be nice if MOT spotted me one like HTC did with theirs. Ahh the perks of being an owner haha.

If you want to hold one in your hand (if size is a potential concern) you might drop by your local agent store and ask to check it out.

Droid X Shipped

Unfortunately only 5 of them shipped from DYMAX. How disappointing. Hoping to get more from Brightstar.

While they hopefully should not be out of stock for months when the initial orders ship expect stores to be sold out this weekend.

VERIZON BROADBAND

I'm thinking about getting the verizon broadband plan for my laptop. I have a new Dell E1505 and i went to the store yesterday and the rep said that I would need the more expensive card since the computer was newer ($150), I know it probably can't compare to cable performance. but I need feedback on reliability (i'm aware it depends on the area and where you take your laptop) but I just want some input from someone who has actually used the service/card. I'm in the Nashville area by the way.

Thanks a bunch!

smart phone that works as a hot spot also

I have my phone and the MI-Fi broadband card. I would like to get rid of the MI-FI if there is a smart phone that works as a hot spot for my laptop also.
Does Verizon have this?
