Motorola E815 Question

Sorry if this has been asked previously but, are there any projected on sale dates for this phone (E815) at the VZW stores? I'm in Omaha if that makes any difference.

Feature Question

I am in NorthEastern NC and Verizon has coverage up here, but it is an extended digital service. I believe that Verizon used US Cellular towers in my area. My question is...would I be able to use certain data features (internet, mms, etc.) while in the "extended digital" area?

Best camera quality?

I currently have a samsung a650 and I want to upgrade to a camera phone. I am only about a year into a 2 year contract, so I think I have to wait another year until my contract is up to upgrade my phone through verizon. I don't want to wait that long, so I am looking at buying a phone on ebay (or another site, if someone can recommend a better place). Since I won't be getting any of the verizon deals I'll have to pay a lot for the phones probably, but my budget is about $150. I may be willing to go over that if their is some great phone for a little more. I am going to be away from July until August, so I am willing to wait until then to get a phone. let me know of any phones that will probably drop in price to about $150 by then.

I plan ...

New Sprint Plans advertising.. More Coverage?

Whats the story with the new Sprint commericals saying more coverage than any other carrier, I think we all agree it is a load of bull but I just wanted to know their claim and what they mean, I know VZW has the most coverage followed by Cingular but if I was a regular customer I would think that Sprint would have more coverage with no roaming charges than any other carrier, what is the true catch? Thanks

FCC Complaint Data

The following is excerpted from an article on page 9 of the July 2005 Consumer Reports. Yes, July 2005 - It arrived in my mailbox on June 2nd.

Cell-phone complaints: A sorry picture for Cingular/AT&T

Complaint data obtained by Consumers Union, publisher of Consumer Reports and ConsumerReports.org, from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) show that Cingular and AT&T, which combined last year to form the nation's largest wireless phone company, have the worst combined complaint record for 2004. AT&T alone has had the worst complaint record two years running.

The graph below shows total complaints per million customers for every wireless carrier that had more than 1 million customers at the end of 2004. It also bre

What will it really cost?

OK, I've got a couple of college degrees and I've researched everything from a new furnace to a digital camera, but I gotta say nothing has made me feel more stupid than trying to figure out what it will cost to use a cell phone. ☚ī¸

After many years of Tracfones, my husband would like to graduate to a real cellphone. We'd like to get a Verizon family plan for two (maybe add the kids later when we figure out how this works...). Based on messages in this forum, I'm looking at the LG 3200 or LG 6100 (we need some analog ability because of where we live near Death Valley). We only have a Radio Shack (remote area) so I can't go to a corporate store to ask this.

When I go to the Verizon site, I see that 500 minutes will cost about $60 per m...

actually thinking about cingular...

ive been with verizion for almost 3 years now and aboslutely love it but the thought of GSM has always appealed to me. also the 9100 very much appeals to me. i love that phone! also the idea of having a SIM card seems to have its pluses. i am definatly one to be impatient with phones and i like to switch phones a lot so that would be very convienient. although if i switch a lot of people would be shocked because everyone knows me as "mr verizon" (being that i work for an agent and check phone scoop constantly)

i know verizon has the best coverage and teh best service but its just some of the phones that cingy offers completely kick @$$!! right now i have the 7000 and im waiting for the 8100. also i have a long time till my contract is up ...

Cingy changing their plans...better for VZW!!!

So I was nosing around the Cingy forum and heard that they are changing hteir plans June 1st. Looks like they are going to match VZW plans exactly, but raise their additional line fee to $14.99 (this used to be $19.99 on plans under $69.99 and $9.99 on plans $69.99 and up). Don't start spreading this since it was just a blurb in the Cingy forum, and I don't know if it is exclusive to certain markets...but here is what I found:

NEW CINGULAR RATE PLANS AS OF 6/01/2005

59.99 (2 lines) 500R min 5000nw unl m2m
79.99 (2 lines) 1000R min unl nw m2m
99.99 (2 lines) 1500R min unl nw m2m
149.99 (2 lines) 2500R min unl nw m2m
199.99 (2 lines) 3500R min unl nw m2m
299.99 (2 lines) 6000R min unl nw m2m

*each additional line 14.99*

Can I get maps to appear on a phone?

OK, I admit once again to complete ignorance.

Is it possible to buy a phone or service that will allow me to see a map on my phone? Kind of like Mapquest? It would be very, very useful when I am traveling to look up the address of a restaurant and be able to get a local map so I could find it.

If it IS possible, could someone tell me what phone will do that and also has analog coverage (tri-mode)?

What features on LG 3200 or 6100 are removed by Verizon?

When I look at the capabilities listed for these two phones, what should I figure on NOT having without getting some sort of download (at additional cost) from Verizon?

Thanks!

Moto v265 vs Samsung A670

Any advice. I have a Mota 720 and am about to get a new phone.

Ordinarily would go Moto, but don't like the small screen. Noticed the cute little Samsung with nice big numbers. I would prefer a speaker phone but can live wo.

I care about battery life, audio quality, external display, size (small is better), vibrate, ease of use. I want a phone. I don't care about the camera or data connections.

I also care about analogue (but I know I will sacrifice this on the Samsung).

Durable Boat, Yard Phone

I've got a Verizon phone (1 of 4) that is now our phone we take kayaking, hiking and other outdoor activities that involve rough use. By rough use I mean banging around, getting splashed, etc. VZW is currently behind the power curve (or is the industry?) in providing a product to fit this purpose. Aside from splash bags, does anyone have any other ideas?

Why not GSM instead of CDMA???????

I would like to know how come Verizon doesn't switch to GSM instead of using CDMA????
All the nice phones are GSM phones, and that is the reason that Verizon doesn't carry all the lastest phones that the other companies do.
Can somebody tell me why they don't switch????? đŸ˜ŗ 🤭

Why no union aat cingular and no union at Verizon(repost)

Unions exist in companies that the employees feel they can not trust management to be fair and upfront. We feel as Cingular employees we can not trust Cingular that is why their is a union. When I talk to a my friend at Verizon he feels that they are pretty fair when it comes to pay benefits and career path. Cingular employees in customer service do not feel the same way at all. We all feel overworked and underpaid and not very appreciated that is a generalization but I think it is the truth. Any other Verizon reps have any opinions about joining a union. Are u for joining a union or against it?

Traveling Cross Country

I just got back from driving from Philly to Phoenix, going 81S to 40W to 17S, a total of about 2500 + miles. I have a LG VX4500 (Digital Only) and I will say that I only ever experienced loss of signal once or twice and both times were when I was in the middle of the desert such as the El Mapais in New Mexico and in the Sonoran desert in Arizona. I was amazed because I was traveling with friends and the walkies we got died about 2 hours into the trip. But we had fantastic coverage throughout.

Just my 2 cents.

lg 3200 charging

I was curious if anyone else has run into this funny scenario. I had a customer purchase 4 lg3200's from me and come in the next day and slam his phone on the table and scream this piece of (fill in the blank) you sold me will not charge, in front of 5 other customers of course. I told him i was sorry to here that and I would get it switched out. He then said i would neeed to switch all 4 of them becaSUE THEy are all having the same problem. He then stated he wanted a different brand and couldn't believe i tried to tell him lg is a good product. i obviously thought something was a little out of place, i had a hard time believing all 4 phones had bad charging ports. I asked the customer to demonstrate how he was charging the phones and he fli...
