want a customer?

If there are any VZW store reps in the forum who work in Denver, I am shopping around for a rep that I can feel comfortable with. I have been a VZW customer for years and have brought others into the "fold". Let me know if you are interested.

Soon I will be extending my contract and purchasing a new phone, possibly the V710 or the "phantom" Audiovox 9900. For the V710 I am waiting to see the updates.

I have a store near me but they are so passive in aquiring knowledge and information that it is too frustrating and bothersome. I cant have an intelligfent conversation with them about products or services. Even though the store is within 1/2 mile I would be willing to go elsewhere in the Denver area for the service and purchases.

Ringtones

After giving the V710 a try I am back to my LG VX6000. Is there a way to convert an MP3 file into a format that this phone can read so that it can be used as a ring tone? I tried the method I used on the V710, by turning it into a .mid file, but the phone would not recognize it.

Any tips would be very much appreciated.

VZW + 1

Are there any midwest/west VZW authorized agents with information concerning VZW + 1. There are rumors hitting the east coast (where we are exclusive to VZW) that they opened up your sales channel, so you can sell another carrier and VZW, where we can not.

Attn: Verizon reps. and Corporate Headquarters....?

I know this has been probably asked many times. let alone in the rumor forum. But here goes anyway.
I am at the present time(at least until jan.2005) Verizon customer. I have and enjoy my Lg VX-6000 camers phone. I live here in Gainesville,Fl.(32614) and Verizon is great here!
I would love to purchase the Lg VX-8000 camera phone. Does anyone have any idea when to phone will be out?
I'm not interested in the V7000 by Moto. It may seem like I'm "beating a dead horse", but I can't think of any other place to ask than here.
So if anyone can help with finding the release date, I want to thank you in advance.

For our friend the phonepimp

.D. Power and Associates’ 2004 Wireless Call Quality Performance Study provided most carriers with something to brag about, as four of the six nationwide operators posted high scores for at least one of the six regions the marketing firm included in the study.
J.D. Power and Associates noted the study employs a call-quality index based on experiences reported by 21,700 wireless users across seven customer-reported problem areas impacting overall carrier performance, including static/interference, connection on first try, voice distortion, no echoes, dropped/disconnected calls, no immediate voice mail notification and no immediate text message notification.

The survey shined brightest on Verizon Wireless, Sprint PCS and T-Mobile USA Inc.,...

VZW retail store incentives

Can any of you VZW retail store sales reps please inform me of the compensation packages they provide so I can understand what I am dealing with when I go into a VZW store for equipment purchases or services?

Tmobile

All of you Tmobile fans in here th=ought you might want to read this.

The wireless company's revenues were up $1 per customer compared with the previous quarter. That was because T-Mobile, for the first time, counted as revenues two fees it tacks onto customer bills. Without those surcharges, the average revenue per customer would have dropped.

The surcharges certainly make T-Mobile more attractive to investors -- they added $58 million in revenue during the quarter.

The fees aren't taxes, though they may look that way on your bill. Wireless, long-distance and local phone service companies use fees like these chiefly to recoup normal business expenses, including property taxes and the cost of posting their rates on the Web.

And t...

WirelessImports.com...

Has anybody here dealt with these people before? They have some amazing phones...

P.S. I do realize that if I purchased one of their phones in all likely hood I'd be S.O.L. if something happened to it since VZW doesn't carry it.

Chapel Hill-Which carrier to choose for voice and data?

I'm moving to Carrboro-Chapel Hill. I want a phone with good coverage locally and nationwide as I will be traveling for work. My girlfriend and I will be joining the same carrier if we can get free calls between our two phones. Would a family plan also make sense?

I would also be interested in a data plan so that I can use my phone as a modem for my iBook. Unlimited data would be preferable for a reasonable amount. Bluetooth would be a nice feature but not necessary.

I'm wide open as far which phone to choose. I don't care if it has a camera, but I would like decent email capability.

Qwest and ATT purchase

I took that future reading training; I'm not as good as phonepimp but I can see that VZW purchasing Qwest ends up being the same as Cingular purchasing ATT. Helped the network out a little but didn't provide 100% coverage, customer base grew a little but then dramatically dropped off because of billing and network issues.

Anyone else take the future training class--next post will be about which phones are coming out.

V60s vs V710

I know that these are at two different ends of the spectrum...but I'm trying to get an idea of the sound quality...

I have a V60s and I love how loud the ear piece and speaker phone are...Have any of you guys compared the two?? Are they the same in "loudness" and clarity?

How Far?

How far off the East Coast does Verizon have service? As in, if I'm boating, how far can I go? Bahamas? Bermuda?

Is there anyway to tell?

Also, what about their coverage in the Caribbean?

Something else for Phonepimp

You keep saying that VZW coverage in Mass. & the NE sucks, but the map I lo0ok at(not the one on the web site, the one with the towers and much better proximity of coverage) shows that coverage in that area is fine well and dandy? We are talking spotty coverage like in KY and WV either. We are talking crisp, clear, digital area map. Are you sure you aren't hitting on your Cingular rolled joint, again, and blowing smoke, again?

Also, I am still waiting for that report stating that VZW has the worst handset return/repair rate in the business.

I'm looking for a job!

Hey all,

I'm working for VZ right now in the West Area, but I'm moving to Oklahoma where VZ doesn't even exist. I'm sad! Anyhow, I need to find a job working in the industry. Any tips? I wouldn't mind working for any carrier. I just like the industry.

I took advantage of Verizon's two for one special and purchased two Samsung a670's this weekend. Could somebody tell me if purchasing phone insurance on them makes sense? Thanks!

Verizon stinks for new phone selection!

I am a very loyal customer with Verizon Wireless. Have been with them for a number of years now. I am ready to upgrade my two year old v60i.
WHY DOES VERIZON STINK FOR THE CHIOCE OF PHONES!!!!! The v710 is way more than I need and Samsungs just does not cut it. Why is there a sudden slow down over the past year for cutting edge phone selection at Verizon? Have they become conservative with their phone selection. I see phones on other carriers which were just approved a few months ago! I am basically complaining because I would like more Motorola phones at a Verizon store. There is not much to choose from!
I want the v810 or v265, but Verizon probably will not carry either.

Anyone care to comment on thier methodology?

I HATE Radio Shack & their association with VZW...

I just spent 90 minutes fixing a customer's account that had been screwed up by some ass-clown of a RS employee.

This is the story, as far as I can figure it out:

Customer walks into 'Shack. Customer wants to buy 1 phone on a $99 LDC plan, with 2 lines sharing the minutes of the first one. Should be about $140/month. Easy, right? Wrong.

Employee activates the first line properly, as best I can tell. Then, he puts the second line on a Level 2 account, and can't figure out why it won't let him do a share... so he puts ANOTHER $99 plan on THAT phone. Same thing happens with the THIRD line... meaning that the MRC of all 3 lines will be $299.97 BEFORE proration. After proration, it's more like $500.

Employee doesn't tell customer, and...
