Here we go Again...Baby Games!

It's that time again to start talking about who's dad can beat up the other dad.

I can't wait 'till next week when the baby games stop because these games go on for about a week, die off, then start up every other week.

I need advice

Ok so here is my story:
In September of 2002 I purchased a motorola V60 with a 2 year plan of $40 a month. In about October 2003 my family decided to get verizon as well so I took my plan and incorporated it into the family plan. Since I knew about cell phone plans I did all the work for my family. I talked to the sales agent who got me a great deal on some phones, and a great deal on the family plan. One of my concerns when getting the phones was if my family was going to get NE2 after two years was up, and he said yes definitely. I also asked that since I only had a year left until I had my phone for 2 years that I would be eligible in September 2004. He said yes.
Well cut to today. With the release of the V710 I figured th...

Teenage Politics

There was a boy about fourteen down the street from me. He's a pretty decent ball player, he's got good grades from what I understand, and the chicks kind of dig him. Now, He has an older brother who is a stand out kind of guy. He's about sixteen and has this GTO. It's amazing. He is an All-State ball player, is 2nd in his class and of course the women love him. So one day, the boy, who's fourteen, decides I'm going to go and get even with my big brother. So, he buys a moped. Fire Engine Red, pedal start, the works. And the moment he buys the moped he cruises around town thinking that he's the best thing to hit town since the Krispy Kreme. And of course, everyone sees straight through his facade. He's still the mediocre little boy...

Is it still necessary to have a trimode phone?

Although fewer and fewer Verizon phones are trimode, I have found that to make a call from a distance of less than an hour from where I live, requires analogue capability. Furthermore, in perusing the Verizon maps, I find significant areas of the country in which only analogue service is available. I would not, therefore, give up analogue service in any phone I purchase, at least not yet.

I'm told that by 2007, the FCC has mandated that Verizon go to an all-digital system. I'm also told that this will not be binding upon small carriers. If this is correct, what will happen with regard to Verizon's roaming agreements with these small analogue carriers? Will they continue past that date? Will it still be necessary to have a trimode phone pa...

Cingular, where are you?

I've been reading all the wonderful things that Phonepimp has been saying about Cingular. I, however, live in a metropolitan area of around three million people where Cingular has no presence, not a store, not an iota of service. If Cingular is as good as Phonepimp says, how could Cingular have missed such a market?

Incidentally, I'm a very satisfied Verizon customer.

Loyal Customers?

Is there such thing as a loyal customer anymore? I have not met one loyal customer, one who will stick w/ us through thick and thin. You'll give an arm, then your leg, then your other arm and leg, and the customer will still leave you over a fancy gadget on a phone for example. If I was a customer for 5 or more years w/ a carrier, I won't switch because of a fancy gadget or because of cheaper price plans.

Samsung A310 to 670?

I am thinking about getting the Samsung 670. I was wondering if the car charger from my 310 can be used on the 670. Do any of the other accessories work to?

This has been bugging me for a while...

I have a simple question. But first, I'm not trying to start a flame war, an argument, or insult anyone.

Why is it that when any new phone comes out, inevitably someone goes to that phone's forum and asks if that phone will be coming to Verizon? Even phones that are described as GSM only have that question asked about them.

Do the phone manufacturers make different models of the GMS only phones for CDMA carriers very often, if at all?

I'm just curious because if thats the case, then why don't we ever see this happening?

If thats not the case, then why can't these people that ask this question just read the description, or just settle for the phones that Verizon offers.

Anyway, that was bugging me and I just was wondering...

Some number crunching for Phonepimp....

Just because you love to toss numbers around. You stated that load balance isn't that big of a difference between VZW and Cingular is, well let's look at it then.

I look at customer bills all day long, so I can safely say that the average call on a cell phone is around 1 minute, but let's put it at 2 minutes per call just to be safe.

24 hours * 30 minutes = 720 2 minute time blocks per day.

GSM = 8 calls per channel * 720 time blocks = 5760 calls per day handled per cell.

CDMA = 10 calls per channel * 720 time blocks = 7200 calls per day handled per cell.

Ok, let's say there is 1 cell per tower.....

Cingular = 21,800 towers * 5760 calls per day = 125,568,000 calls per day.

VZW = 20,500 towers * 7200 calls per day = 147,6...

Motorola V710 pricing

I have been waiting for the V710 phone because of its bluetooth capabilities and it's finally arrived, however the pricing is different from what Verizon/Motorola has quoted in their earlier press release (also confirmed by Verizon wireless personnel last week). The pricing was supposed to retail at $319 with $70 off for a two year contract, what I have been quoted this morning is that it's $419 with a $70 discount for a two year contract.

As a 10 year customer I'm upset at this, and I'm considering moving to another carrier (any suggestions) who offer bluetooth phones at much lower price.

History has shown that these prices are artificially set high and then reduced after a few initial months.

Any suggestions?

Survey: How do you view t hese forums?

Flat view or in thread view?

I personally put it in thread view so I can see alot of the other topics that fly by and keeps alot of the good stuff from getting lost in the flames that get going 😛

Monthly Plan

Hi,

I'm going to be a student in upstate NY soon and need cell phone coverage. I'd like to wait a couple of months for a new phone to come out, so in the meantime I need cell service.

I have a CDMA samsung phone that would work on Verizon's network and need to know if I can purchase a monthly or "pay as you go" contract and use my phone on it.

Thanks for your help.

GIN Ringtone programs

This is a call out to all the other VZW reps AND any VZW customers.

Have any of you used the GIN ringtone download programs?

Which programs have you found to be the best quality sound?

Which programs have you found to be the loudest/quietest ringtones?

Which program would you recommend per style of phone? LG, AVX, Kyocera, Mota, Nokia?

Thanks y'all! I get these questions alot by my customers and I want to truthfully answer them.
