Lost phone HELP!

I currently have (2) audiovox 8900, signed with VZW about (6) months ago. My wife is at Disney for a week and just called me to inform me that she just lost her phone. I contacted VZW and they suspended the line for now until she find the phone or else.
I was waiting for the V710 to come out to replace both phones.
My question is: what is my best option in this situation?
Will the issurance replace the 8900 with another(is it still available?) or the V710 (wishful thinking)?

HELP PLEAAASE.

You know whats funny

I just heard a Verizon ad on the radio, and it was talking about the IN network, how they try and hype up there mobile to mobile on the In network. and how its nationwide, but they had to mention the stipulations with it like roaming. its almost like they were saying all this good stuff, but then directly followed it with there circumstances. I dont know, it just seemed filed with Oxymorons. I mean, the IN network in my area is horrible. it is just a dot around my city. and there are alot of people who live outside this area, and arent informed about this. I get alot of customers who think that Verizon screwed them on there mobile to mobile, and there roaming charges. I mean, Cingular is just doing much better in that area. I have to be hone...

3rd party re-sellers?

I'm going to switch to Verizon this month, and I'm wondering about using a 3rd party (e.g. Let's Talk). They seem to offer just the same/standard rate plans, but the phones are a good bit cheaper (especially for a 1-year contract).

I'm sure folks have opinions about this, so please let me hear them.

Maybe someday UNICEF will get in the Wireless business.

This is a business, Not a Charity.

I dont know, Maybe Some day Unicef will get in the Wireless Business. But untill then, we're the people to see.

one more thing...

I suggest you peruse the motorola v710 forum to get an idea of how desparate verizon customers are for a halfway decent phone that utilizes modern technology like bluetooth. (.. but there are weirdos waiting with baited breath for the release of just about any new phone... )
Okay, it's out of my system. Now, if only I could beat the system...

Can I get some clear answers regarding Verizon???

I am a longtime Verizon customer.
The service rocks.
But I am less than happy with their store personnel. Seems like if I ask 3 different people the same question, I get 4 different answers.

so... Can y'all help me out.

Is it true that a phone must have Verizon software loaded on it for me to switch my service to that phone?
Specific example: I am ready to get a new phone (my LG 3100 sucks)
I like the Kyocera slider.
VZW offers the SE47 model.
Alltel offers the SE44 model
I'd like the SE44 since it has analog
If I get my hands on a SE44, will I be able to transfer my service over to it?
The best answer I got from VZW was: it may require VZW software to be loaded on it to work.

Thank You

10 Year Contracts = VZW's Answer to the Cingular Threat?

The Good:

More discounts on the equipment!

Free bonus minutes for the term of the contract that make the plans even a better deal than Cingular's!

A better deal than even New Every 2!

The Unchanged:

Still no rollover...
Still no 7pm nights...

The Bad:

More complicated upgrade rules for customer service.
More oportunities for error in Point of Sale data entry.

3G

I have been a long time Verizon user and althrough I have been unhappy with their phone selection, I have never had a problem with the costumer service or the phone service itself. But I just read an article which said that AT&T Wireless is preparing to launch 3G service in four markets early next week. If that's true, I think I may have to say good bye to Verizon after all.

Final specs on VZW Treo 600?

Just found this board - thanks for all of the information.

I read somewhere here that the Treo would have a HD screen (320x320). I also read that the camera would be higher resolution. However, on VZW's website, it doesn't mention the resolution of the screen or the camera, and it links to PalmOne's standard Treo 600 site. This implies (to me) that it does not have either.

Does anyone know about this?

Signal Boosters- Do they Work?

Another Newbie question here...

All over eBay you can find people selling "Signal Boosters" those little flat stickers that you stick usually behind the battery of your phone and they supposedly allow you to be able to hold a signal better on your phone.

Perhaps a stupid question, but do these devices work? If so, can you suggest a reputable company from which to purchase a signal booster?

I know this sounds crazy, but I cannot hold a signal in my house. I just live in a dead zone. I usually have one bar of service on my StarTac and will drop a call after a few minutes if I don't go outside. But my father comes over and can chat away on his phone and hardly ever drops a call and he has one of those boosters. Do they have any effect?...

I finally killed it... eulogy for my T720c

😳

My T720 finally died yesterday. I had been using my Timeport over the weekend, just for laughs, and when I switched it back to the 720, it powered on, the screen started acting really wierd, then it shut off, never to reawaken. New battery didn't help, but it's not a big deal. I'll ship it off to Motorola this afternoon. It's not like I don't have a pile of abandoned phones sitting on my desk anyway. There's a relatively new VX6000 in there, maybe I'll give that a whirl.

I know many of you hated that T720, but mine worked flawlessly from Day 1 until yesterday. I updated the firmware twice, and changed the front LCD cover once because I accidently smashed it on the corner of a desk. It was a good phone. I sent countless text message...
