Port/phone question, from Metro to Verizon...

Hey All!
A co-worker at work has an Audiovox CDM-8900 currently connected to Metro-PCS and is thinking about porting over to Verizon. Since Verizon sells this phone as well, would he be able to activate it onto the Verizon network? Or is something different in the software where it would not work. Your advise and opinions please!
Chris 🙂

Looking for a new phone

I'm a new customus and I'm wondering which phone is nice and cheap. I'm not interested in those fancy features such as camera, just a phone with good signals.

Any advice will be so appreciated.

The V710 forum makes my day

Hey if you guys aren't checking in on that forum every day you are all missing out on a good laugh. I have never seen anything so pathetic in my whole life. Maybe I'm just evil, or maybe its because another dealer I know started taking pre-orders for it in APRIL! He was all convinced that it would be out within a month. I also get a smug sense of self-satisfaction because two months ago I posted a couple of times saying that it wouldn't be out until at least August or maybe never. I'd say either one of those scenarios is proving to be a possibility. Does anybody else get as much perverse enjoyment out of this as I do?

New plans being released?

Hello!
Long time lurker, first time poster...

My awful Cellular One contract is FINALLY up this August. Will there be any VZN plan revisions coming soon? Need to share 1400-1600 minutes, would like 2 flip phones, no cameras. ONE year contract (after being burned by C1 that's all I am comfortable with). Any professional opinions? Thanks.

New Continent Wide Plans?

I was just on Verizon's website and used the zipcode 99999 to look at their current and upcoming plans. They have a dummy already made for something called "North America's Choice" in addition to "America' Choice". Does anyone in here know if this means that Verizon is planning to offer a continent wide service through either roaming agreements or an addition to their already existing national network?

A test isnt a bad idea

I think a test wouldnt be so bad, i mean we could really weed out the people who dont have a clue about wireless service. on the other end of that spectrum, i hope it isnt too hard, LOL, yall might not see me again. 😁

Is GIN my only option??

Hi everyone!

I recently purchased the Samsung a670 & love it! I'm trying to find out if there's any websites that support the VZW phone...everytime I go to a website for ringtones, they say that either they don't support VZW or the a670...

Does anyone know of any other option other than GIN?

Thanks in advance!

What happen to "FREE SPEECH" ?????????????

Sometime last night(thursday) a person z1 made a comment, and even he said, the "moderator" would most likely "kill" his thread. And I see today what he said is no longer on here.
So it seems like if you disagree with what everyone thinks, censorship kicks in?
Since when is phonescoop and Verizon part of the cold war theology?
I am disappointed with this website and Mr. Rich A. Brome.

Its all about the phones, stupid!!!!

Well I made one last stop at Verizon before selecting Cingular. I wanted a BT phone and both Verizon stores said "IT was coming and due to Verizon's 'Vigorous testing" has been delayed. In fact BT is been around a long time in phones while VErizon 'vigorously" tests!!!

The other snag was the limp 'extended services network"

Bottom line The massive Verizon coverage does not matter if your are not where only the buffalo roam. Shop for the phone then the carrier. In my case the T637 fit the bill after a try with the V600. someday Verizon will realize their "flea market" phones are indeed an issue. That day will be when GSM has equal coverage....where the buffalo roam.

Why Wouldn't Warranty Be Honored?

I have had an ongoing issue with Verizon Customer Service for the last 6 days. I upgraded my phone the first week in May
from a Kyocera 2235 to an LG VX4500. I had no problems with that phone except for the occasional squeak the last week or 2.

During my lunch break last Thursday, I took my phone to a Verizon store to have the firmware upgraded. They told me it would take about 45 minutes so I said I'd come back after work to pick it up. We had a thunderstorm in the area and when I went to get my phone after work, the technician at the Verizon store told me their was a power outage in the store for about 15 seconds. He said my phone was on the machine being upgrading during the power outage and as a result it killed my phone.

ATTN: schnozejt

In response to your post about the contract and VZW not cancelling a customers contract due to a majority of time roaming off network.....apparently you were correct. They've reworked the contract a bit. Its only says that we cannot activate a customer that is outside of our network coverage (obviously a nicer way to put it than saying "better watch out or we'll disconnect your azz" lol) and I do remember seeing the disconnect clause in older contracts but you are correct that we no longer have this in the contracts 🙂
