Say what you will about GSM, CDMA is the best and it's all in this article!

Hi guys I got the link to this article from some guy here at phonescoop.com I thought I'd share it with you, I know it's long, I was written by one of the guys who helped invent CDMA, very interesting Enjoy!

Anxio!

P.S. I think it's funny when they talk about Europe going to CDMA after all, because this is the only thechnology that supports our needs...

Just curious, where are you porting out to and why?

Hello!

Not trying to be inflammatory, but I read in Wallstreet journal awhile back that AT&T wireless had a net loss of over 350,000 customers first quarter as the only carrier to actually post net losses so far this year. So my question is where are you taking your service, why are you leaving AT&T, and how much happier are you with your new carrier? All replies (negative or positive) welcome. Have a friend with AT&T getting ready to switch service (tired of incorrect billing and hour-plus waits to talk to reps about it) and wants a feel for the industry.

TDMA phase out.....

Okay I have heard that Cingular is phasing out their TDMA service by the end of the year. Now we already know they bought AT&T so my question is will they phase out the TDMA AT&T has when the acquisition is complete? Or will AT&T start phasing it out now?

http://forums.attwireless.com/attws/board/message?bo ... »

basically there talking bout direct retail stores have this policy where if you fry your sim card , they will give a replacement one 4 free the first time. Any direct dealers that can clarify whether this is by discretion or policy?

Sony Ericsson T226 unlock code

I recently had my T226 stolen/lost? My service plan is with Cingular. My brother-in-law was nice enough to give me his T226 that he had gotten with his AT&T plan. Since he wasn't using the phone (he bought something else) he had no use for it. I didn't realize this was going to be a problem. I figured as long as I put in a Cingular SIM card it would be fine. I had no idea I would have to "unlock" this phone. I found this out after I purchased a Cingular SIM card installed it and got the message "insert the correct SIM card". I called Sony Ericsson and explained the situation and asked them what was wrong. They informed me that I had to unlock it. I was told there is a code needed to do it but they could not give it to me, AT&T would have to ...

IS THIS NEW COVERAGE CINGULAR'S?

Can anyone tell me if AT&T magically built these 850 MHz towers overnight to increase coverage for their new GSM flagship plans or are they using Cingular's towers? Is this first step of this merger?

Confusion on AT&T CC decision

Please help me understand this...

I called 3 weeks ago and ordered the new Motorola v600 with a new contract. At the time of the purchase, I was approved for 2 lines and was asked if I wanted to open 2 lines. I only opened 1 line and got the v600 for $199.99. I recently got a letter in the mail from AT&T wireless and they decided to change their mind on me and require that I pay a deposit for the 1 line that I just opened. Why would they do this after I've already activated my phone and started using service, and is there anything I can do to cancel if I'm required to pay the deposit? If I do decide to cancel, what would be the consequences? Any help would be greatly appreciated...
