Easiest way to unlock a phone
Vision impaired
I was able to set up an N75 so that the voice aid would come up on a hotkey, but he had heard of a program called "TALKS". He mentioned that he thought it was put out by a company called "Nuance". From what I understand (based on AT&T forums), it seems to be like Microsoft's talk-to-text program.
Does anyone have any info on this (or any other) program that would be compatible with the N75?
Thank you in advance.
ps: I have heard that this program is compatible w/ the E62, but we no longer have any. Didn't seem like QWERTY keyboard would be helpful either...
AT&T Touts Open Network
USA Today has a rather breathless story today titled, "AT&T flings cellphone network wide open". Here's the lede:
Starting immediately, AT&T (T) customers can ditch their AT&T phones and use any wireless phone, device and software application from any maker — think smartphones, e-mail and music downloading. And they don't have to sign a contract.
"You can use any handset on our network you want," says Ralph de la Vega, CEO of AT&T's wireless business. "We don't prohibit it, or even police it."
AT&T's push to give consumers maximum control of their wireless worlds is being driven, in part, by Google. The tech giant is...

Time to upgrade - please help!
Anyway, it's time to upgrade. I have only ever had a Nokia. I laugh when I think of my first one and how bulky it was. I am only on my third phone now which I believe is a 6102. I have been very happy with my Nokia's, always. My husband tried an LG this last time and had numerous problems with it and I said, "I told you". I've long advocated for Nokia, but have considered trying out one of the Razr phones. I am so confused by the large variety of those now though. I just basically like the way they look - so thin! I like the Krazr look, but definitely not in blue (yuck!). I've read great reviews on that phone in other place, but on phone scoop I don't find much po...

good news
>AT&T CEO, Randall Stephenson, told Bloomberg that the 3G iPhone that we had all hoped for is coming next year. Most of us expected the addition of near-broadband data capability to the iPhone, but confirmation such as this lets us rest easy since the device's current slower EDGE network (for surfing the Web and getting e-mail) is so five years ago! No date or any specifics are known beyond that, but presumably the phone will run on the same HSDPA network that the new BlackJack II uses.
Stephenson cited battery life as the reason the first generation was saddled with the pokey EDGE data network, saying that 3G chipsets are "real power hogs." Stephenson says the faster download speeds ...

Will AT&T offers K850i soon? Thanks
BTW I have to sign a new contract, so might as well get a phone for cheap from AT&T.

New Customer (Can I do this?)
With the iphone 2 rumors going around with a possible March or Summer release, I was thinking of signing up with AT&T now and getting a Motorola Q or Blackberry Curve and using that until I hear further info on the iphone 2... This way if it does get released sooner than expected (Let's say March for example) then I can buy the iphone 2 and keep my original (Moto Q or BlackBerry) as a backup or just sell it on ebay.
Is this possible or will there be some sort of contract policy that I am breaking?
