Please get the mobile insurence!!!!

I'm a AT&T COR employee, and this is my plea to our customers or soon to be customers. When getting a brand new phone please put the wireless phone insurance for $4.99. I mean think about it, would you rather pay the $4.99 for your new phone that you just got and only pay $50 when it breaks, or pay $400 for a phone you got for way less than that? You do the math!!! I've seen it a million times, customers buy phones and we offer the insurance, 3 months later they dropped their phone in the toliet...so sorry you don't have insurance, that'll be $350 for a new phone. It suxs and i hate doing that to customers but i hate to say I told ya so. So to avoid the headaches and the temper tantrum you'll throw in the store just get the insurance.

Customer Lack-of-Care Reps

I just have to ask, why are so many reps blowing me off on the phone when I call up to get things done for a customer? Its always so convenient to just say "I have to speak to the customer to verify the account" just so you can get off the phone with me. I am an agent trying to take care of my customers who are sick and tired of speaking to care reps who give them attitude (not all mind you, but there are plenty) and would rather deal with me at the store. If a customer calls me at the store, they lose faith in my ability to help them if I tell them to call customer service. Why do so many reps pull this BS on me???? 99% of the time I help the customer before calling you, but on the few occasions where I can't do something, and I need t...

3G, The True Story & Real Value ??

Yes,

By now we all have heard the story and many advantages of 3G Technology on phones?

But what's the real story, Is it going to actually develop in rual areas to take over for the fastest largest Network....

Or is that even the story?

Will 3G In America Do what it does for Carriers In Europe & Asia?

Just Curious, I am a dealer who knows and preaches 3G, but I am also a hardcore skeptic

Peace

Unlocked Handets ??

I am new to ATT Wireless and so far I love it. I do have a question about the ability to buy a phone from a different source and use it on thier network.

I was searching the web and saw a zillion places where I could buy an unlocked phone that supports the GSM bands ATT uses. Would I just be able to pop in my ATT sim and it would work?

Would I lose any functionality?

Do I need to call ATT and give them the IMEID number. I ask because when I activated my service I had to.

Please get me up to speed on this. Thanks

Trying out GSM

Would it be easier to pick up a GO Phone to try out the GSM signal strenght in my area instead of going through the process of a contract for 30 days? I am thinking that the signal would be the same for both prepaid and contract phones. Also, when switching from AT&Ts TDMA to the GSM account do you have to enter into a 2 year minimum contract or are you just switching phones and signal types?
Thanks

POS.com It's name is no accident

I don't know how many others of you out there use pos.com (aka, piece of sh*t dot com) but we got this new upgrade checker thingy a few weeks back, and it is the evil spawn of satan and is so flawed it just makes me laugh. Anyone else getting customers whose contract was over 3 months ago and it says they can't upgrade for 5 more months? Or my personal favorite I got today, just CANNOT UPGRADE UNTIL TOMORROW!!! WTF is that? "I'm sorry Mr customer, you are going to have to come back tomorrow to get a new phone. Oh, you paid your bill all ready? At&t doesnt care, come back tomorrow"

T-Mobile coming to South Carolina

It will be nice to have a viable GSM alternative to ATT. Especially in Voice and data packages.

Need good voice dialing

Hi. I'm new to this forum. It seems to have a lot of good info and consumer experience.

I'm an ATT customer with an old Motorola V551. I need a new phone and my primary criteria are:

1. Good Voice Dialing so I can use it while I'm driving.
2. Quad band so I can travel with it - in and outside the USA.
3. Blue tooth for the headset (while driving).

I really don't care about the other stuff - cameras, videos, internet, etc. (I'm over 60 ... maybe you guessed ... and I just want to make phone calls. I guess I'm not part of ATT's target market.)

Also, I'm open to getting an unlocked GSM phone. I'd even change to Verizon (the only other good carrier in my location) if I had to. I'm "out of contract" as the ATT sales people say.

...

HSDPA Speed (out of the loop)

What is the current HSDPA speed nowadays? Has it gone up? I think last time I saw a data card it was something like 3.2Mbps (I think) I know that there's an upgrade that will bump this to 7.2Mbps, but is it available in the US already? if not, when? before January of 2008, perhaps? I'll be back on AT&T in January and want to know what device to get. That K850 looks great, but wanted to know what else is out there...

Customer Care and Warranty reps

I have a question, why when I call customer care for customer that is right in front of me, verified and all, that some of you still wont help me fix the customer issue and make me send them to a cor location? And another question, when a customer comes in and needs to do a warranty exchange, why is it that my information is not enough and my checking of the phone is not enough that I have to send the customer to a cor location out of their way. I'm not an idiot, I have been in this industry for a couple of years, I know what to look for. I'm not saying that all of you are doing this but its totally and completely frustrating and it also completely pisses customers off. 👿

Obviously I'm the only one that can count...

Okay...so a customer came into my store with a phone that was purchased on August 8th. Our return policy (which we go over before any paperwork is signed, AND is PRINTED ON THE RECEIPT that we give the customer) is 30 days. Not 31, not 32, not 90...30 days. The day that the phone is purchased is counted as day one. Count the days...Please...count them...if you came up with anything less than 32, then you are in agreement with the customer. August 16th-Sept 16th is NOT 30 days! Saying "oh...I'm sorry...I didn't know that there are 31 days in August" doesn't make it any less days. Neither does saying "if you don't take this phone back, I'm going to cancel all 4 of my lines".

If the phone was being returned due to a defect, that I would unde...
