AT&T Care/ Core, the bullies on the playground!

It seems to me that more and more customers are coming into my (agent) store with really random, unheard issues that apparently HAVE to be resolved at a corporate-owned location. Now, tell me, WHY can't I help a customer in my store if a system error shows that an eligible upgrade is ineligible? If you, the Care Rep CAN fix it, why will you NOT fix it?

In the last few days I've had to turn away SEVERAL unhappy customers that had to be referred to our local Core stores because of, oh, the line was relocated so WE can't do an upgrade, or POS shuts down when we try to convert a prepaid to postpaid, or even someone from out of state wanting to pay a bill...

The idea may be for Core to gain more sales this way, like the elementary school p...

$49 plan per month...

i'm sure it has been said before so pretty much i am just venting (no better place to do so.) it really bothers me that not only ATT and some other don't have a nationwide $50/MO... i have over 3000 rollover minutes and continue to build 400+ per month... i don't want the $40 plan because i would cut it too close leaving me with what i really need... a $50 plan with about 600 minutes... don't even give me the rollover, just natiowide and free night and weekends and i'm happy... wtf? ๐Ÿคจ

at&t going down the drain

So at&t just shut off the towers in three of our areas here in Colorado. They say they had to do it cause the FCC is making them sell some towers due to being too big and having to much service. Saying to sell it off to T-Mobile and other smaller carriers. WTF, I have about 100 customers all trying to return there phones today!! Dude, at&t is really losing there touch! Then they took away exception upgrades for the dealers. Not putting out any great phones. Man, I might sell Verizon (not saying they have better service) instead.

cant believe this..

i though customers are the ones that are stupid, this agent from cust care proved me wrong...

agent from cust care: customer lost her phone sir and she is still under warranty
me: sorry to hear that, if she has insurance she could file for insurance claim or buy new phone
acc: what? why cant you process a warranty claim? she is still under warranty
me: wtf? ๐Ÿ˜ฒ ๐Ÿ‘€ warranty doesnt cover lost, stolen and damaged phones, and we are an exchange program, we expect the customer to give their phone for a replacement, if she lost the phone, what is she going to send in? she would be charged $210!
acc: ok, thank you! *toot toot*

NO! You can not buy the Iphone!!

That is what I tried telling one of my customers, and here is why:

He didnt have/want Itunes, and had no idea how to download it, and couldnt be sure his computer could run it anyway

Had dial-up

Had no clue what an mp3 was

Flat out told me he had no intention of playing music, surfing the net, or anything else the iphone is designed for

Yet, he still wanted it... despite the return and restocking issues.......

I fear a major customer complaint coming......

UMTS V3 Pink?

Ok, I just finished an upgrade. A customer bought a V3 pink. At the beginning of the process it asks you if you are upgrading to another GSM phone or UMTS, right? Well, this is a V3 pink, not a V3xx. It would not let me continue with the upgrade until I selected UMTS as the technology. Anyone know anything about this? Thanks in advance.

Inventory shortages at at&t agent stores..could this be the end??

I work at a long time at&t agent in the south and I notice that we are rarely getting any phones in at all. This has been going on for about 5 weeks now. Now we do get some curve's in and the occasional gold v3xx razr but that been about it.So I called other at&t agents in my area they said they are having the same issue. HOWEVER, the 3 at&t corp stores within 30 mile radius has a lot of different phones to sell. How? at&t has not given us any straight answers. Is the dealer channel being phased out. after all we are are the ones that built the at&t/cingular business before the the corp store came a long. wouldn't be more economical to close to the at&t corp stores and make all the agents excuslive any let us handle the business? I think it ...

New TDMA Maintenance Charge

Starting in September, the $4.99 TDMA fee increases to $9.99!

Also if a TDMA subscriber has a MRC plan of $24.99 or less the will be charged the $9.99 fee plus an additional $24.99 rate plan fee. Holy ****.

An here comes the calls to retention. Is there that many TDMA folks still out there? My stores are averaging 6 TDMA to GSM upgrades per month. Seeing lots of those direct mailers. Instead of giving them the extra discount, we call cs to get them a bill credit. Works perfect.
