Iphone Review

I am on my 4th Iphone! I live in Southern Cal and my area is covered with cell sites. The Iphone is a very nice phone(or I should say device) as it suffers as a phone big time. All 4 of my phones have had very very low volume. Drive on the freeway, eat at a restaurant....good luck hearinng anyone. The phone as stated on many online reviews picks up some serious ambient noise. The rest of the fetures are fantastic but the phone part of the device is driving me nuts.

I ask all Iphone users to do this and be honest about it.

Get on the freeway, make a call for about 5 minutes and ask yourself this simple question. Is the call a good experience? If you are honest, you will say it gets way to much ambient noise, garble talk everywh...

iPhone International Roaming (Germany)

I've seen a number of posts here about international roaming on AT&T with the iPhone so I thought I would add some thoughts since I'm sitting in Germany with the iPhone right now...

First, Roaming seems okay, I get a signal pretty much everywhere I've been. Coverage has been about as good, if not better as with TMobile. In fact, TMobile D is one of the roaming partners, along with Vodafone, O2, and E-Plus. Roaming costs are much higher with AT&T than with TMobile.

For some reason I can't get EDGE connectivity everywhere, even with a very good signal. I do seem to have an EDGE signal when Roaming on E-Plus but it's so slow that it's almost unusable, especially when pulling data from the US. AT&T's US EDGE network seems much faster but ...

New At&t employee

Hey everyone, just thought I'd say hi from a new AT&T employee. Still in customer care training, so should I run for the hills now, or do those of you that work for AT&T like it? I figured I'd finally join phone scoop since I've been reading posts on here during down time in class lol

So, No more MCube or Mblox credits

If I'm understanding correctly according to the new WSA, no more credits for these things, so now Ill still get yelled at for the charges, just not be able to do anything about it 🤣 oh good times. But the best part, is that it clearly states that if they don't put parental controls on, they are responsible no matter what.

iPhone SIM Card

I did a quick search for this, but I didn't see anything on the topic. Sorry if this has been covered.

Is the SIM card in the iPhone able to be changed? My girlfriend's brother got an iPhone recently, but he travels overseas to Europe for business quite a bit. I've heard that the SIM card is pretty much impossible to take out, but that might just be rumors from people that are trying to bad mouth the phone. Can he use this phone in Europe with a different SIM?

Anyone used the video share service?

I'm wondering if anyone has used or is using the video share service? Does it work well and what phone are you using it on? I'd really like to know if you are using it on a 3G PDA like the 8525 or Blackjack. Thanks.

phone help needed, pls!

I have recently got a sync and am very disppointed! So, I am going to exchange it for something else and would love to hear some suggestions. I am in the Annapolis, MD area. The problems I have with the sync are: lots of no service areas, it frequently give me a "emergency calls only" message ans very poor battery life. What I like about the sync: nice menu system, good music player, good camera. My husband has a razr and while I am not a big fan of the menu system, he gets great reception.

Suggestions, anyone???

Thanks!

upcoming phones?

i got a blackjack a week or two ago and well. i dont like it. i used to have service eveywhere in my house and with this phone i barely have any service. I also dont receive alot of calls. every time i look at the phone i have voice mails. The phone is complicated to use. it took me a week to figure out how to change the ring tone volume as it takes alot of digging into the phone to find. I love the query key board but its much to small.

So my question is...are there any phones coming out in the very near future? I want to return the blackjack in my 30 day return policy but im not to impressed with any of the phones out right now. so if anyone has any knowledge of upcoming phones, please let me know.

thanks.

T-Mobile network sounds way better

Many times using ATT I get garbled sounding conversations to the point that its useless, but with Tmobile the call clarity is great. What is the deal is it just that ATT is still just a train wreck with piss poor cs and network implementation? I'm in the Seattle area and Tmobile blows ATT out of the water!

Global GSM Service- AT&T or T-Mobile?

Specific coverage question for business travelers or wireless company reps. Any
help would be very appreciated.

I'm a Consultant, and travel internationally 50% of my time. I've had T-Mobile for 10-years because of their GSM roaming agreements, but in the US the coverage is just terrible.

I was in Dallas-FW last week, and couldn't get a signal a couple miles from DFW Airport. Pretty ridiculous. I'm ready to switch to AT&T. I'm going to take a $400 hit on early term charges so don't want to make a big mistake.

How is AT&T's GSM coverage in Europe & Latin America? T-Mobile's was good if I initiated the call, but bad if someone was trying to reach me. (Mexico City & Santiago, Chile for example) Does AT&T have roaming aggrements wit...

Researchers Hack Into iPhone Via Web
By PETER SVENSSON, AP Technology Writer

NEW YORK - Hackers could take control of an iPhone if its owner visits a doctored Web site or Internet hotspot, security researchers reported Monday.

The vulnerability of the vaunted device, Apple Inc.'s first cell phone, is only theoretical for now. There are no reports of criminals actually taking advantage of the security glitch to remotely access an iPhone.

But if it were exploited, hijacked iPhones could be very useful to the same gangs that take over personal computers and use them to disseminate spam, said Charlie Miller, princi...
