Question About SE.

A Long Time Age. I had the nokia phone, it was GSM, when GSM was new for At&T. It was TINNY as hell, LOVED that phone.

The I also bought the Sony Erricson T68.

They both could be in the same room, same position, and the nokia would have a FULL signal, and the t68 would have 1 or no bars. I exchanged it 2x before finally selling it.

Could someone please tell me if SE has made their phones better, or am I still going to get a phone that provides no signal.

Current blakjack owner. Love the signal it provides in MY area.

Let me know SE guys.! 🤤 🤤

Blackjack or Pearl

So I have a Blackjack and have had to exchange it three times in the past 3 or 4 month because it keeps locking up. I love then phone and its features but sometimes it lock's up two or three times a day. I called the warranty department again today and they offered to switch it out for a Blackberry pearl. Should I do it or just try my luck with the blackjack again. Any input would be great.

PLEASE HELP UPDATE

Please go to

www.signalmap.com

You may or may not know about this website, but I believe this is the only true way people can find out what kind of coverage carriers really have besides those maps that they provide us. Please add you input to this map. As more and more people add there signal to the map, it would greatly help people to choose a carrier that meets there needs by know what kind of coverage they should come to expect.

IF you should give you input please be truthful about what kind of coverage you have

Thanks!

All input is greatly appreciated!

Blackberry Curve or IPhone?? (Cingular Reps??)

Hi,
I am on the verge of renewing my contract with Cingular and purchasing a new phone. I have been looking at the Blackberry Curve for several days, but with the upcoming release of the iPhone, I'm wondering if I should wait. I'm a Financial Analyst and currently own a Blackberry Pearl that I keep close at hand for emails and such. The 2 things that throw me about the iPhone are 1. The price (of course) and 2. Its durability. My pearl I can simply toss into my purse and go, but that doesn't seem like something I'd be able to do with the iPhone w/out ruining it. I'm also wanting something that's going to function well with my work lifestyle. I've heard lots of great things about the Curve. The pearl is just not what I thought it wo...

About the Blackberry Pearl From the Ones Who Own It!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was looking into getting the Red Blackberry Pearl as my 1st smartphone. I was wondering how the people who own it like it? What are the good and the bad of the phone? I am coming from the crappy POS razr, so I am sure it will be alot better than that 🙂 Also, can you download opera mini as the web browser? And does the pearl have preloaded IM applications? Thank you so much for the insight 🙂

Ringtone Problem

I have a question. My ex-wife has an LG CU500 and downloaded the Magnum, P.I. ringtone. Since it is cool, I attempted to download it for my Samsung Sync, but was told that no such ringtone exists. When I switch to the LC CU500 the ringtone is available. It is also not available to the v3xx or KRZR. Why is an mp3 ringtone available for 1 phone on AT&T but not the others?

AT&T advice on hardware

My problem is I need a candy bar style Nokia GSM to replace my TDMA hardwired 6360 mounted in a helicopter. All my research so far has led me to an unlocked 6230 (foreign because AT&T discontinued it), a CK-7w car kit and a MBC-155-AC holder. Does anybody see any problem with this working on my North America service with AT&T? Never bought out of country phone before. Any advice on a different model phone would be appreciated too, thanks.

New Phone Recommendations

Good Evening everyone. I have combed through the forum looking for insight on which phone to buy. I'm replacing my Moto razr (not a 3xx). The display cover is coming off (my V60 did the same thing) and the phone shuts off by itself on occasion.

I'm looking for a phone with comparable if not better features as well as improved reception.

One interesting point to note. I've started dropping calls in an area that I did not drop prior to the merger. However, it was the same spot when I had ATT years ago.

Any suggestion is appreciated. If there is something coming out new soon that would be worth the wait, that would be fine too. No Iphone. I have an IPOD. Thanks again

can anyone help me?

I have an account that I have had for several years. I have 1 line out of contract and 1 line in contract, which expires in January. I have complained about service getting worse at my house for the last year. I have been told by the district rep that was in the store when I went in for my weekly rant, that there has been a "redirectioning" of the tower and that I would no longer have service. My question is is there any way to get out of my contract since it is useless for what I need?
Thanks for any help

Defect in iphone construction?

on the back of the iphone where the black plastic begins and the light gray ends....if you squeeze it together (on the side of the phone) it feels like it might move a little.....do you think this is where they might open th ephone up to replace a bad battery or something or is the phone i saw defective?

hopefully an at&t rep or someone who owns this phone can test this to see if all iphones are made this way????.......thanks in advance!!!!

Prepaid and 3G Phones

It has come to my attention that agents apparently do not know that 3G phones are NOT supported by prepaid accounts. I have at least one call a day from a prepaid customer who bought a 3G phone at full price and wants to activate it on a prepaid account. You CANNOT do that. True, you can put your SIM card into the phone and it will work, but not for long. We cannot put a 3G IMEI on a prepaid account. Thus, the phone does not get the proper updates and it will stop working eventually. I have seen this happen. And it is not just agents doing this. Warranty exchange is sending prepaid customers the LG CU500 to replace the Motorola RAZR V3 if they have had numerous exchanges and it is still not working. I had a customer who got one in December t...

almost 1 month of ATT service and i havent dropped a call yet...

I am really suprised, my dad had them a couple years ago and he dropped calls everywhere

although i have a 8525 so that probobly make a difference.

heck i can have 1 bar and still be fine

and my area has been known to have horrible coverage. (omaha nebraska)

i cant wait for 3g if we ever get it...

maybe if people would invest in a better phone they might just get better reception

doing software updates on smartphones

So I just got a Blackjack for my ERP line. It was an ex-employees COU phone and my manager said I could keep it for a while since my CU500 was stolen.

Anyways, since it is a first rev release of the blackjacks there have been some software updates that I want to download. I am using a Mac at home and I was wondering how I would go about doing it. Can I do it right from the phone itself? Do I have to buy third-party software? Any suggestions?

Note To Dealers and Agents

Having a prepaid account does NOT help the customer when to get a postpaid account. I get numerous calls from customers stating that they were told when they activated their prepaid account (because they had a $500 deposit) that if they kept their account for six months or more, it will help them get a postpaid account and even get the deposit waived. The deposit is determined entirely by the credit check. Having a prepaid account does not affect their credit at all. Please stop telling customers this.

Anyone claming to be aware of the N95 b4 buying the iPhone is a liar

I have to believe those who bought the iPhone and consider themselves tech savy were completely blinded by Apple Sauce.

Does anyone who looks at both phones deeply really believe the iPhone is a better value?

Initial Impressions of AT&T from long-term Verizon Customer

I was previously with Verizon for about 10 years. I have the Moto V710 for the past 2 plus years with Verizon. I recently got engaged so my Fiance travels a lot overseas so I decided to consolidate our bills and give AT&T a try - I signed us up for the family plan 1200 minutes, but I think we'll switch that to 2100 minutes next month. It's great that we can talk for free anytime.

I also signed up for unlimited Web, cellular video, and email and brought an advertisement from the website into the store for a free MOTORAZR V3xx. They honored the print out for the free phone and in the course of an hour signed me up and changed the plan. It did take forever, so don't go sign up if there is a line or they are busy.

Two technicians at...
