I Hate It When...
Really? I have run across a FEW instances where service in some areas did suffer due to Cingular's merger with AT&T Wireless, but does that make sense? AT&T Wireless had X amount of towers. Cingular Wireless had Y amount of towers. The companies merged and now, there are Z amount of towers. How does the service get worse? This is not a hypothetical question. I want to know. I even had people who said that we were intentionally making it worse so they wo...

AT&T Wireless Phones
I had a lady the other day who was given two Motorola V180 phones by a friend. They said AT&T on them so she figured she would activate them with us. She called and told a rep what model phone they were and she ordered two prepaid SIM cards from us. After a week, she got the SIM cards and set up two Pick Your Plan accounts. She made two payments of $69.99 for the plans and turned the phones on. They said invalid SIM, enter unlock code. She entered what she thought was the unloc...

The Jesus phone
For anyone that thought Jim Balsillie had a point when he contended that Apple was effectively pimping AT&T, take note here. According to a report filed by the American Technology Research firm, roughly 25%, or a full quarter of all new iPhone users were willing to jump ship, paying countless ETFs along the way from their previous carriers, for the privilege of owning a Jesus Phone. If we take the cautious estimate of 500,000 units sold over the release weekend, that gives AT&T a cool 125,000 new subscribers, all gained within a 3 day window. Actual number are likely much higher. This is no mean feat in an industry that is struggling for customer retention and experiencing record high churn levels. AT&T...

cust care agents makes at&t loose a lot of money
cust called in stating that he cant make or recieve calls on his old out-dated cellphone and wants to get a warranty replacement...seeing that it was bought 4-20-2006, i informed him its oow as per date and offered him oow options...cust ranted that he is a loyal cust and ought to be given a new phone which costs $65, if not he would cancel 2 of his accounts with us... as per cust rule, i checked out his account hoping that he indeed is a loyal customer and tried to check if we could bend our backs over for him...upon seeing that his ltv is 1 and churn potential-5, and taking into account that cust is oow for 3 months now, i adviced him we couldnt give him a replacement phone for free...he said he'll cancel his accoun...

We will see how ATT will treat me as an ASM
For all the complaining customers!
Insurance: Is here for a purpose. We do not slam insurance on you, rather we try to get you to see the point of it. You might pay $50 for a phone when you sign up, but 6 months later, if you have to get a new one because of your stupidity or someone else stealing it from you, you have to pay retail for a phone id you elected not to take the insurance. Dont yell at myself or my reps, because we did nothing to cause that.
Just because you have been with the same company for ...

Going too Far
Even though the phones become expensive paperweights if customers quit AT&T's wireless plan, the company will still charge a $175 early termination fee, said Rep. Edward J. Markey, D-Mass., chairman of a House subcommittee on telecommunications and the Internet.
Markey described the phone as a "Hotel California service. You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave - you're stuck with your iPhone and you can't take it anywhere.''
The issue arose at a hearing on whether Congress should grant the cell phone industry's wish and pre-empt states from regulating wireless phone companies. State ...
