Sony s710

I hope someone can help. I am wondering if the sony s710 allows connection to wireless internet via Bluetooth, or if the BT is limited to just headsets. Thanks in advance for your response.

Subsidy lock removal

Strangest customer service experience today.

Called to get a subsidy lock removed for my old phone (just got a new one). CS rep was looking for some form for ~5 mins, took IMEI number, and then said: "I can't process your request, because this phone is not currently active."

WTF? 😑

Question for at&t reps?

So after seeing the news today showing how you activate the Iphone online through itunes instead of in the store I'm wondering how this affects commsions. Since there will be no plan sold with the phone do you know how it will work out to get paid? I'm a rep for another company but I saw that info and actually felt kind of bad for you guys cause it looks like you would be getting screwed.

Are BlueTooth AT&T phones OBEX ENABLED?

The BlueTooth OBEX (Object Exchange) profile is what allows the user to transfer picture files wirelessly (and thus for free). Verizon disables this OBEX feature and forces its users to pay a fee for that function*. Only one phone that I know of has an ENABLED OBEX, and that is the Nokia 6256i.

Question: Does AT&T also disable the OBEX profile in BlueTooth or do AT&T phones come OBEX enabled?

*Or buy a memory card for it.

Future iphone upgrade question?

so if I get an iphone and next year a better version comes out and I want to upgrade to it. Can I simply go to AT&T and buy the new one and then sell the old one on EBAY as used as I have done at least 10 times before? Thanks in advance.

NY Times Article

An excerpt from a June 23, 2007 NY Times article:

"AT&T’s share of new monthly wireless subscribers has fallen steadily over the last year, notably since it purchased BellSouth and changed its wireless brand to AT&T from Cingular. In the second quarter of last year, 29.5 percent of new cellphone subscribers chose AT&T, but that figure was 25.8 percent in this year’s first quarter, Mr. Hodulik said.

At the end of the first quarter, AT&T had 62.2 million subscribers, slightly more than Verizon’s 61.5 million, said Jonathan Atkin, an analyst at RBC Capital Markets. But Verizon is catching up a little bit each quarter.

AT&T is already doing worse than Verizon in terms of customer turnover, or churn, Mr. Atkin said. AT&T is now losing

iphone data plan dubbed the iplan

From BG

No, we're not kidding. Although iPlan might simply be used internally to refer to the Apple iPhone data plan, this streak of info came from a pretty high up source of ours, and it looks to be accurate. The iPhone data plan will be around $34.99-$44.99 and feature unlimited data, and either 2000 text messages, or unlimited text messages (we still have not confirmed which, but unlimited text messages would be awesome). For anyone trying to snuff the FedEx driver on his way in to deliver the iPhones, be prepared, because all FedEx drivers are said to be assigned, and delivering to stores in teams. Well, what if we raid the stockroom the night before, we'll end up with a bunch of iPhones right? Wrong. Apple's cleverness was revealed w...

They are about to lose me as a customer

I have been with Cingular/AT&T for nearly 6 years. Back when they were AT&T Wireless the coverage and service were great. When it moved to Cingular coverage seemed to get better, but customer service was lousy.

In the last 6 months or so I have begun to have strange coverage problems. I'm not going anywhere different that I have in the past, but suddenly there are large areas where I no longer get a signal at all. I live in Oklahoma, Tulsa to be exact.

My wife and I are on one of the family plans and have two different phones. Mine is a Nokia, her's is a Sony/Ericcsson. We are both having the same problems.

For example. I work in downtown Tulsa. In the past the signal was strong here and call quality was excellent. Now I am lucky ...
