Cingular Insurance

What's with all the bad talking on Cingular's insurance? I have had very few issues in the past 5 years of my wireless sales experience. Now, I know at one point we required a police report for a stolen phone, but I haven't had an Asurion rep request that or give a customer trouble about their claim.

In that five years, I also worked as a regional sales rep for a wireless supply chain provider (ie, selling handsets to dealers, carriers, MVNOs, handset protection, etc.) and I know a refurb phone really works just as good, if not better, than a new handset.

Just want to know what's up with everyone and bashing the insurance.

Data Plans compared

As I look through the ATT Website, it appears that there are 4 plans all offering unlimited data access, at three different prices. What's the difference between:

PDA Connect $45
Smartphone Connect $20
Blackberry Connect $35
MediaNet $20

Aren't these all essentially the same service? I'm especially interested in why I couldn't run the Smartphone plan on a Blackjack.

Moto Phone Tools equivilent for non-Moto phones

I had used Moto Phone Tools to create ringtones of midi and CD music files and then transfer to my Moto phone.

My Moto reception was incredible back in the StarTAC days, but since then Moto gotten progressively worse and I'm thinking about switching to a Nokia or SonyEricson.

Can anybody recommend a good s/w app to replace Moto Phone Tools?

something big happening at cingular/att?

I heard a rumor that cingular/att will be launching something big in the next few weeks... my best guess is video calling considering att has been barking up that tree for some time now... but curiosity has the best of me so I am seeing if anyone has any other ideas...

Stupid Radio Shack Agents!

Disclaimer: Not all Radio Shack agents are bad. Some are very knowledgeable and helpful. This is about two specific agents I have spoken with over the last several weeks.

P.S. I am a prepaid representative.

The first agent called in because he had just activated a prepaid phone for a customer, but it was not working. We have been having a lot of delays in activation over the last few weeks so this was no surprise. We have been told that it may take between 30 minutes and 24 hours. When I let the agent know, he started complaining about how our company sucks and how this stuff always happens. Then, he turned to the customer and said "You really should've gone with the other company. These guys are incompetent and don't know what the hel...

V3xx question

OK - I've got a customer who brought up an interesting question today. Please try and help me find a solution rather than laughing...

When she does a voice dial, the speakerphone automatically defaults to on when the call gets placed.

I told her that all she had to do is hit the speaker button and it would turn off, but apparently that's too much effort.

Does anyone know if you can turn this off? I searched for a long time trying to figure this out and I can't get anything.

Dear Cingular/AT&T/Identity Crisis...

CAN WE PLEASE GET SOME PHONES WITH BUILT IN GPS POR FAVOR? That would be swell, carrying around a BT receiver is no bueno, especially when you just use GPS for points of interest, because God knows a navigation system isn't going to help you in Houston.

Signed
