iPhone question

I am planning on switching jobs, and the company I will be working for has a discount program thru Cingular/AT&T. I already have Cingular, but they want me to have a separate "work" phone. They will pay for the service, I just bring the phone.

I was going to see if I could hold out for the iPhone. I guess my question is - does it have any business applications? I would be looking for basic stuff - calender, to-do list, etc. kind of like a Treo or the 8525 or a Blackberry. Will it also be able to do email? Does anyone have any insight into this yet?

Thanks!

Iphone in Massachusetts

sort of new here. I was recently at a cingular store, because where i moved to verizon doesn't work well. So i was asking about the Iphone to the cingular employees. They said they weren't getting it, and that cingular may not get it as well. They said there was problems with having the ability to have free Wifi and not being able to charge for it. As well as training all of the cingular employees how to use and fix the iphone. They were pretty adament about talking me out it the whole time I was there. Thought that was interesting figure i would share

Windows Mobile device with Push to Talk

Anyone know when Cingular will offer a device that runs Windows Mobile with the push to talk feature? I just setup a Windows Exchange Server for my small business and was looking at the Blackberry 8800, but my IT consultant informed that i would lose the synching capabailities with Outlook that i currently have with my Windows Mobile based smartphone. Appreciate any information.

N95 Q unlocked

I had previously wanted to get the N80 but I had read the lack of one or more bands would basically hamper its signal use in the states especially the Tri-State area where I'm from

So seeing the N95 just made me drool a little more lol

So My question is .. If I were to purchase a unlocked version of this phone would it work in the tri-state area (NJ) .. I know with some programing tweeks it can send SMS and MMS so thats not an issue

I have 3G in my area but if I go south I lose it .. I dont want a great phone I can make a call on

any help would be greatly appreicated

I would even give up my 8525 for this phone

Is "3G" a GSM thing?

I was looking at Vodafone's website earlier and noticed that they also call their UMTS phones "3G"
I have never seen Verizon or Sprint use that term. I think Vz uses the term VCast and Sprint uses the term "Power" or something instead of EV-D0. Hmmm, I wonder why?
Other carriers in the UK (GSM of course, what else?) use the term 3G as in:
"You can also check the news LIVE on your 3G phone..."
I thought it was interesting to point out. 😕

EERR fued between customer service and retail/corp store

👿 i work for cingular customer service and have been doing so for about 2 years and there seems to be a divide between customer service and corp stores. they claim we send people to stores when they cant do anything and we claim there answer for everything is "call customer service. imnot saying customer service have never sent anyone to a store for a stupid reason or a new rep or someone that just didn't know what they were doing has done so cause they cant fix issue. but thats neither here nor there, the majority of the phone calls i get people never have ever had a good experience in the stores cause they say agents we rude or basically said they couldn't do anything. and right after a day of taking these phone calls i went to a loc...

Cingular, the Pearl & switching from Verizon

I have spent days deliberating on whether or not I should switch to Cingular. I am in love with the Pearl but I've heard that I shouldn't get a phone with edge when 3g stuff is here to stay. Anyone want to talk me into it? Wirefly will give me a pearl for free after rebates and I am loving that deal.

Unlimited SMS with Cingular!

I was told by a trainer today that we will have a unlimited sms/mms plan shortly. I'm not talking about the $5 add-on for unlimited at&t, but a unlimited for everyone. He wasn't sure on the pricing, but hopefully it will be here soon.

Cingular Video

I wanted to try the Cingular video. But when I clicked on a video to watch it says I have to be on a media plan that accepts cingular video. I am on the 14.99 media plan which is 5mb of data and 1000 messages. What plan do you have to be on to be able to use the cingular video?? Thanks
