Can I PLEASE hit my coworker for being stupid?!?

Coworker from the store across town sent a girl to my store for a laptop connect card. I ask what kind of laptop do you have, she responded "I don't have a laptop, the girl at the other store told me it will work with my PC"

I followed up with the employee and she then states, "Oh, I thought it would work." I asked, "When's the last time you heard of a PC having a PCMCIIA slot in it?" And then the revalation, she says, "Well I'd have to say I'd never heard of a PC having that..."

Apple iPhone to Generate 50 Percent Margin

Apple iPhone to Generate 50 Percent Margin, According to iSuppli*s Preliminary Analysis
January 18, 2007

Each Apple iPhone sold will generate nearly a 50 percent gross margin for Apple Inc. and partner Cingular Wireless, giving the companies a hefty profit, as well as plenty of room for future price cuts, according to a preliminary functional Bill of Materials (BoM) estimate created by iSuppli Corp.

iSuppli estimates the 4Gbyte version of the Apple iPhone will carry a $229.85 hardware BoM and manufacturing cost and a $245.83 total expense, yielding a 50.7 percent margin on each unit sold at the $499 retail price, said Andrew Rassweiler, teardown services manager and senior analyst for iSuppli.

Meanwhile, the 8...

Cingular Service in NYC

Hi all,

Can any Cingular users in the Manhattan and/or Queens area give me some feedback on the quality of their calls - reception, signal strength, clarity, etc...

I used to be an AT&T user and have been using Verizon for the past few years. I like Verizon, but Sony Ericsson phones are tempting me to switch to a GSM network.

Thanks in advance!

Iphone & Cingular Label Consumers Criminals

Cingular: We Made Apple Bend by Sascha Segan
1.10.07

LAS VEGAS—Movie studios and record labels have bent to Apple. But in the end, Apple bent to Cingular with a multi-year, exclusive US contract for an entire line of different iPhone models, Glenn Lurie, Cingular's president of national distribution told journalists at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2007) today.

When asked about a give-and-take leading to the Apple-Cingular partnership, Lurie said, "I'm not sure we gave anything." Later, he commented, "I think they bent a lot." That bending included allowing the phone to be locked to Cingular, just one of several restrictions on the new iPhone. Press reports today said the phone will not accept third-party applications, though ...

former cingular wireless rep

i have been looking at posts and i am sick and tired...

i used to deal with calls ppl asking for mot razr phones free no contract yada yada yada

seriously no one owes anyone nothing...
cingular provides the service, and customer pays for that,, dont come talking bout " my service sucks" if it does do something boutit. dont sit there and be like... " i have been trying to get this solvedfor over a yr now" because that is wrong... no one will sit there with bad service for a yr if they dont like it.

dont call ion to reps and be like... i pay my bill on time... and everything like that

How long can I keep my current Cingular plan?

About four years ago, I subscribed to a charter GSM plan with AT&T Wireless (now Cingular) that offered 1,000 anytime minutes for $39/month, no roaming or LD charges US-wide. This now seems like a very good deal, based on the current plans I've seen from Cingular and others, and it seems to meet my needs really well. Since I'm no longer on a contract and paying less than current plans, I can't help but wonder when Cingular is going to decide to mandate a change in my plan that either restricts services or raises my rate.

Has anyone experienced a change in plan provisions after you've progressed from a term contract to month-to-month?

Bob

Re-Branding

FYI....

Starting 6-1-07, Cingular will be taking away our exterior Cingular signs and replacing them with the new AT&T signs. This is for the Dallas market.

As for store priority and markets, it may vary.

Free Roaming???

I never understood the plan of free roaming when you don't even get the option to use it???? I got this phone A707 because of all the band width
GSM 850
GSM 900
GSM 1800
GSM 1900
WCDMA 850
WCDMA 1900
Thinking if I was stuck somewhere I would still get network. None???? Why doesn't cingular phones go to other networks if it's free roaming. Or what can I do to set up my phone to look for another signal if there isn't any network? Thank you
