What Cingular Tells Customers Canceling Over Text Message Rates
Q. Since Cingular is raising its rates, are customers entitled to cancel service without paying an early termination fee?
A. No, that doesn't apply here. This is simply a pricing change for pay-per-use text and instant messaging, which is an optional service. It's similar to buying a ringtone - that's optional as well. It's not part of your monthly rate plan.
Customers who pay for text and instant messages on a per-use basis are generally those who use text messaging occasionally. Frequent users generally purchase ...

3G phones don't buzz!
I never met a dumb Cingular employee until today.
So then I said that selling at&t Yahoo! is the first step they are taking to rebrand Cingular. Then rep said " No we are not being rebranded as at&t but instead we will be selling at&t through Cingular." I then pointed out the pending at&t/BellSouth merger, and that if it clears its final hurdle then BellSouth will be rebranded first, and then Cingular will be rebranded thereafter. He said that he recieved a letter from the company saying that they wi...

AT&T White Sim Card Question
I have an ATT White sim from their original GSM rollout in '02 and an old ATT plan with 7:00 nights.(I am in Pittsburgh, PA.) I have been hearing for some time now that Cingular will be cancelling old ATT plans and forcing everyone to migrate to orange. Can someone confirm this? Will this happen in all markets simultaneously? Has this already happened in some markets?
I read somewhere on here that there are still about 1 million subscribers on the old ATT plans with ATT sims. If that's true, will they bother to force them to migrate?
How does 3G figure into this? Will the 3G system support all of the old sims/plans?
Thanks for the help.
AT&T once again!

Here is the wireless part of the AT&T website, where it clearly states the name change WILL take place for Cingular:

I for one support this change. There is no name you can have in the telecommunications industry like AT&T.
NTX promo
Does corporate even realize that you'd have to upgrade a line as a tier 5 rate plan just to make $5 off of it at that price? This just might be the most retarded thing I've heard their marketing department come up with all year.
Fed up and taking a break!

It is OFFICIAL: Cingular Wireless will be rebranded AT&T in early 2007.
(If you click on the PDF with the FAQs) It is clear that Cingular Wireless will be rebranded. Now interstingly enough in the PDF they have a FAQ that reads: Will you change the name of Cingular Wireless to AT&T Wireless? AT&T answered saying that right now they are not giving any details on the rebranding, but they will address this in more detail in 2007 when the rebranding of Cingular begins.
So there you have it.
(And what is SO FUNNY is the Cingy rep in Chicago told me that Cingular will not go away after the AT&T BellSouth merger, and I told him ...

Att - Bellsouth News
CNN's website has a story about the merger. Att maid additional concessions (that should satisfy the 2 holdout democrats) and a final vote is expected before Friday, but could happen anytime before then.

Raising the Bar - manipulating the signal indicator
I think Cingular Wireless has been manipulating the signal indicator in an effort to support their "Raising the Bar" campaign. My phone almost always has a full strength indicator even when my signal is weak and I am dropping calls.
I have had poor reception while talking to land line phones and my signal indicator was full strength. I have seen the signal indicator fluctuate, but I suspect that the fluctuation is part of the scheme -no one would believe they actually had full signal all of the time.
