LG CU500

How do you turn off that annoying sound that plays after you send a message. It chimes when you press send, and again when the message is sent 1 second later. hmmmm

Long time ATT/Cing Customer with contract up..

Having weathered the stormy mess that was the Cingular take over of ATT Wireless, my 2 year contract is now finally up. ATT had been a gem for customer service, and Cingular has been a convoluted mess to deal with on the phone.

I'm one of those customers that has a great rate plan from ATT that will now be charged almost 40$ more for a similar plan with Cingular. Aren't prices supposed to be going down for cell services?

With my contract now up, what have any of your experiences been getting better pricing on contracts, getting 1 year contracts, or getting Cingular to pricematch places like Amazon/LetsTalk for new phones..?

Will they bend over backwards to retain people as a customer? (as a customer of theirs for almost 8 y...

3g and battery talk time.

ok, so i was reading the specs for the cu500 and under the talk time it states that the phone lasts 5 hrs on GSM and 3.5 on UMTS? wth? are they referring to voice and data? or does the battery actually last less (voice) in a 3g area?

Whats the point of a SIM card?

I noticed that Cingular GSM phones allow you to make 911 calls without a SIM card, so whats the point of having one?

AT&T, Bellsouth Merger

I hope that the merger will close soon, and that it will be a smooth transaction. I think it is in AT&T's best interest to starting rebranding right away. As much as I hate to see Cingular go away, I think AT&T Wireless will do wonders.

(How soon would Cingular start rebranding, I am guessing 2nd Quarter 2007, what do you experts think?)

Blocking calls?

I've got a quick question, is there a way to block calls and/or text messages from one particular number on the cingular network? Thanks!

help with reactivating account

Cingular has shut off the 3 lines on my plan. I made a partial payment on 11/8, then paid in full to current on 11/26. Now Cingular is telling me I need to pay a $300 deposit per line to have them reactivated. I don't have $300 let alone $900 to put down a deposit. I have elderly parents, and one is in the hospital. I've been breaking my neck and bank account caring for them. All of my other creditors have been more than understanding and cooperative in dealing with me over the last two months. What are my options in dealing with Cingular? I'm willing to set up auto-pay or whatever, but I desperately need two of these lines turned back on. How should I address the situation?

Please advise.

Simple phone for the elderly

Can anyone suggest a phone offered by Cingular that is simple to use. Easy power on and off, large display and basic navigation? My 81 y/o Mom insists on having one. I tried the basic Nokia go-phone a few years ago but she found it too hard to turn on.

well

Ive had the 8525 for a few weeks now, and im considering switching to the treo 680, come of it for cost purposes, but mostly because ive been pretty let down by the 8525. At least mine has been very laggish and uncooperative. Does anyone think this is a good idea?

The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away!

I found a nice program to cut mp3's for ringtones ... its call adobe audition ... my w300 was pissing me off since Cing locked it from using full mp3's (which i find wildly obnoxious since its a walkman phone them money grubbing ringtone money making scumbags) but unfortunately the adobe audtion program is only a trial and i think i have only 30 days .... so if you would all take a minute to pray i can find a hacked version of the program i would appreciate it 😛

thank you too all those who take out the minute for those who don't well kiss this (_*_)

"Boot Up" speed

This may seem like a strange question, but is the speed in which a phone goes from OFF to READY determined more by the phone its self, or by the network it's on? Here's why I ask: I currently have a couple two-year-old basic Samsung flip phones (forget the model) from Verizon. These phones take FOREVER to "boot up" when you turn them on. I mean it's literally around a full minute before it's ready to make a call. My wife recently got a Samsung D807 slider from Cingular and it boots up super-fast. Her's is more like 5-7 seconds and it's ready. Is that because its a different/newer phone, or is it because of the cingular network? In two weeks I'll be getting myslef and my son each a Sony Ericsson W300i on the Cingular network and I'm h...

IS it a fake??

OK So my friend got "this" phone off of ebay, thinking it was an authentic Motorola Slvr L7, I noticed a few things on it, which leads me to believe its a fake.

1.)Its the pink version, but its a different shade of pink than the one sold by cingular.
2.)its shell is made of plastic rather than metal.
3.)on the key pad, the numbers are a bit raised, and there are odd symbols on the keys.(maybe chinese ??)
4.)the memory card slot is on the side rather than behing the battery.
5.)The motorola logo on the top of the screen is smaller than on the one sold by cingy.
6.)around the phone(on the side) is a black ring, is there supposed to be a black ring at all??
7.) there isnt an itunes icon in the main menu, but itunes is in the phone, u...
