Posting this here too-the phone specific forum for 8525 isn't very active.

Since ActiveSync 4.2 doesn't backup a device so you can restore the 8525 to a previous state-total backup i.e. programs, settings, etc. like previous versions of ActiveSync, I'm looking for something to do this. 'Sprite' looks good. Anybody have thoughts on this program or any others/other solutions?

Backing up like this came in handy with my old HP Hw 6525, I want something in case I have issues with the 8525 & to avoid the pain of having to re-install all programs/setting, etc.

Would anybody know where we can buy 8525 for a cheaper price. amazon is offering one at 300 bucks
but i was wondering if there are any other sites out there that might heve it for a cheaper price. and their mail in rebates department should be good.there are sites there which are offering the phone for 200 dollars but review on their mail in rebates is not good.i don't think any of the sites would be selling this phone without mail in rebates.

so if any body knows anything about a site or place where we can buy this phone for a little cheaper price please do reply for this post.

Hey I have an idea just tell me what you all think. If I am currently with cingular hence the post on the cingular website. But like many I get hit with a pretty good size of overages every month. Now, tell me what you all think about this.

If I had a carrier that offered many plans, for the sake of this example 4. Now my plan would include something like:

ok, we sold an 8525 yesterday and before we could even get it out the store or finishing ringing up the customer he locked it out. appearantly it asked him this password 3 times as opposed to the 8125's one. so to make a long story short.

i have an 8525 i'd like to save time and make a demo for the store and bypass sending it back.

does anyone know of a way to just re-format the phone and master clear this phone if i dont know the password?

First, i recently purchased a unlocked Razr and need to get settings to get on the web. Other than calling customer service, maybe a web tool can can send the settings to the phone?


Secondly, my son has a CU500 LG on the 19.99 max media package. If i bought him a blackjack for Christmas, will he CV and web browser work on the blackjack. (he does not need email or anything, just Media net and CV)

I am satisfied because my phone works EVERYWHERE! I have a good plan. Most the people I know (fam/friends) have Cingular. And I know for a fact that they are very satisfied too. etc etc etc.

Does anyone know if / when the mms messaging will be fixed for Cingular? I have gone through the whole tech support game of being on the phone for 30 minutes to 45 minutes to troubleshoot the phone - twice, only to be raised to another level of phone support to be told it is a problem in the whole area. The regular media net works, text messaging works, but try to send a pic with mms and it will not go.

Is anyone else having this problem?

I was looking to switch from Verizon to Cingular... Anyone have/know of anyone with the plan 39.99 450rollover with the 29.99 BB internet plan add on... How much with tax? I live on Long Island so I am sure the taxes here vary compared to elsewhere. Thanks guys...

Looking to switch to Cingular from VZW... the rollover minutes are the deal closer.

The 680 is much cheaper than the 8525, so I am wondering what I am losing....

I know 680 has no wi-fi, which is a big deal, since I do not plan to get a data plan. Can this be added?

What about CPU speed? I plan to use this for a GPS solution as well. ( w/ a bluetooh GPS receiver)

Hey I am a 10yr plus customer with cingular. I received a "realtor" offer from Sprint today as follows:

Treo 700 for $199 2yrs unlimited data access, pick a plan, 5% off rates, 10% data (after two years) with new 2 year agreement.

If my math is correct, that would save me $500 to $600 over the next two years.

Seems Like the deal that gets me to take the plung.

I have Cingular service (through my Godly ATT plan). The coverage isn't all that great, compared to my Sprint work phone, but I have a monster of a plan, so I don't really want to change.

I'm thinking of going to the Blackjack though, so I was wondering if Cing still charges for their incoming txts? I think that this is their one fatal flaw that prevents them from being the powerhouse of the cellular world.

lately i've been seeing people with the LGCU500 and the Sync and i look and try it their phones, and they are only getting edge and i live in a 3G market, are they selling the phones without activating it on the 3G network or they dont have an updated sim card?, i dont want to get cingular video if im only going to have edge coverage. i also tried out the new phones in the nearest cingular store and the 3G phones are only picking up edge., whats up w/ that?

1) Can the new Blackjack be used with Blackberry email?

2)I'm getting my 1st PDA. I currently have a media package that gives me 5MB of media net. Will this cover internet/email use on the PDA??
