3G Looks Pretty Good To Me...Right now.

Okay my first ever cell phone service was Cingular, and then I went to Verizon, and this year I went to T-Mobile so that I could actually get cool phones and minutes, and I like GSM's call quality, I can definately tell the difference. But, I start looking at Cingulars website one day, and what do my wondering eyes should appear...? The Cingular 8525 with 3G, my GOD my eyes are even watering with tears of joy. I am willing to pay the ETF this week, and spend the money to get this phone if I hear a little more about it. I am already won over by the touch screen and sliding QWERTY Key board, not to mention QUAD BAND GSM with WCDMA 850, 1900, and 2100.

What else should I know about this phone to convince me to get it or not get it. Size...

Cingular Found Guilty

PRNEWSWIRE – 12/12/2006

CINGULAR VIOLATES TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Judge Seth Green of US Federal Court has found The New Cingular Wireless, LLC guilty of violating its own Terms and Conditions by creating confusion in the US wireless market. It would seam that unaware consumers are confusing the wireless provider with ‘SINGULAIR’, the once a day allergy medication.

By using a name similar to the popular medication, customers are under the impression that using their wireless devices once a day can aid in the treatment of indoor/outdoor allergies.

Nokia E62 Problems

I have had my Nokia E62 since first part of October. I am within the last 3 weeks been getting an error stating Smartchip Not Available. Just randomly does it, sometimes 10 times a day sometimes 1.

Has anyone else seen this problem?

Alos, I am having a lot of problems with my signal going up and down all the time and it will be sitting in one spot.

Anyone else seen this problem?

Thanks.

does the IMEI serve any purpose at all?

What purpose does the IMEI serve, since service is tied to the SIM and not the phone. Is it just there to make inventory activities easier for retailers? Is it possible for a carrier to determine the IMEI of the phone im using just from my cell number?

Sales Reps with their own phones/plans

Any Cingular reps out there that don't use their COU/ERP lines as their personal lines, and have their own monthly plan that they pay for every month?

It seems like a huge waste of money...but I was considering doing it because I just graduated college and I am trying to dip my feet into the job market and I am going to need my cell and I want something I have more control over.

Any opinions on this?

Email from CR - Great Idea

Dear XXXXX,

Does your cell phone take pictures, play music, and download market reports from the Internet - yet, you can't get it to complete a phone call?

And then, you can't get out of the plan because they lock you in with high early-termination fees - $150 to $200.

Join our "Hear Us Now!" campaign. Tell the cell phone industry to end the "gotchas" and improve the quality of your phone service.

Companies use high termination fees to keep you from taking your business elsewhere because many services will regularly drop your calls, no matter what their ads say. And you can expect to pay up to 30 percent more than the advertised price.

Consumer Reports this month provides some good tips for finding a better phone and a bette...
