To clarify, Cingular DOES still offer 1 year contracts correct?

A friend went to a cingular corporate store a few weeks ago to get a new phone and they made her sign a 2 year, said 1 year contracts arent available anymore.

If thats true ill never get a new phone from cingular directly. I think she might have had to cause she was still in her 2 year contract and upgraded early?

I have two phones that I use. They both have bluetooth. I have one bluetooth headset. I wish I could pair my bt headset with both phones at the same time, but I haven't been able to do it. Why is this? It's annoying that I have to keep pairing back and forth whenever the other phone rings. I get a lot of calls on both phones and in one day I pair more than 10 times from one phone to the other.

okay so my best friend is on an old AT&T GSM plan, and his mom isnt willing to give up the $50 a month for 1000 minutes, and since she wont migrate over to (ithink its called) cingular orange, they cant get new phones without giving up her plan. i dont blaame her but... his phone is falling apart and for his birthday i was going to buy him a new prepaid phone from t-mobile(assuming they will unlock it for me), or cingular have it unlocked, and give it to him. is that at all possible?

If I was to join Cingular and lived in NC which phone would be best for signal strength, reception and call quality. I'd need to get service in a basement apartment as well as other low lying areas. I'd like this phone to have a good camera as well. Thanks

What is with most new phones having such a low earpiece volume???? Example - the SE W810i, nokia 6131, nokia 8801,SLVR, Razr, . . .
I realize motos can be modded to raise the gain but these phones should have louder volume at full level. It seems to be a trend with new phones.

Can anyone recommend a new high-end phone with decent earpiece volume??

Okay... I don't get it.

Guy comes in yadda yadda yadda free 6061 on line. So we talk him up about the reasons for doing an UPG in the store instead of on-line and told him we would even cut the price in half. The guy is stoked and leaves a happy Cingular customer.

Now he's coming in saying we did him wrong because he got a flier from Cingy saying he was eligible for a FREE 6061 with activation of a new line. My rep patiently explained that the offer was for a new activation not a UPG. So the guy is like "I called customer care and they said for me to bring back this phone and they'd send me a 6061 for FREE"

First, why would a cust care rep suggest this?!?!?! 🤨

Little background info: I've had them all. Alltel, Sprint, T-Mobile, lastly Verizon (HORRIBLE!) Now I switched to Cingular (two months ago) and I couldn't be any happier... 😎

Has anyone had this problem before, where your billing cycle restarted into the next month and you can not view any of your data information? Im 8 days into my new billing cycle and I cant see how mant txt msgs I have sent or recieved and a Cingular customer service rep said im responsible for any overage charges. Customer service also doesnt even have a clue how many I sent or recieve. This doesnt make sense. Doesnt Cingular have a Online support department where they can make changes to your online viewing? 👿

I am looking to join Cingular and purchase a Blackberry (Lol, incase you didn't notice my last few threads) but I wasn't sure which one to go with.

I like the 7130c because of it's size, the fact that it comes with a holster which are normally pretty good when it comes to RIM and also because it supports full HTML browsing on the internet (Took that from the Cingular website.)

Then you have the 8700 which I like the full keyboard and the actual appearence of the BB. I don't think it comes with a holster (Maybe someone could verify that) and the specs don't say whether or not they support full HTML browsing.

Anyone have any suggestions/if you have the actual phones?

I live in a small town in central Alambama. Cingular has been in our area for almost 2 years. This was once an AT&T dominate area. Here recently, July 10, many of my customers were distributed letters from Cingluar concerning their off-network roaming. I would say between 30 to 40% of the customers in surrounding locations have recieved these letters. I noticed here recently Cingular has distributed more letters, going out Aug. 10. Is anyone else having these problems and, if so, what are you telling your customers? It is so hard to keep a smile after you have already told 20 customers that day what the actual problem is... I just want to know if anyone else out there has this problem in their area.

I am thinking about purchasing the Treo 650 from Palm. I am debating whether I should buy it now with GSM/GPRS/EDGE or wait until they come out with a model that is compatible for Cingular's 3G network....I live in Houston, which has rolled out 3G already....

Also, any difference between an unlcocked Treo 650 on ebay and one that is locked to Cingular? If I buy the unlocked version, I assume it will still run on Cingular's network without any bugs or problems....

Is Cingular the only thing keeping Radio Shack alive? Obviously Verizon Wireless is ok without them but without Cingular Radio Shack would be dead in the water. Does the Shack even sell Boost or only Sprintel? After looking at the second quarter results from Sprintel it seems Radio Shack might want to reconsider it's options.

could i take my unlocked w810 to a local cingular store, renew my contract, and have them put a new SIM card in my unlocked w810?

I believe if cingular pushes to launch video conferencing and better quality phones that offer this service their on UMTS/HSPA this would attract more customers so their net additions wouldn't always fall short of verizon.
