how is cingular's customer service? are the reps friendly? can you understand a word they say over the phone?

So... guess who is the lucky rep to deal with "ms. I have an 8260 I won't give up but don't want to pay a $5 surcharge"?? YUP.. that would be me 🙄

And she renew'ed her agreement in '05 because she didn't want Cingy to remove her rate plan and the rep at the COR store told her that she had to be in contract for them not to change her rate plan. Why, I don't know...

This is ridiculous.

She isn't eligible for a standard UPG and they no longer do exception UPG's and she's just kinda rude. And is like "well... cingular is going to charge me for having this type of technology but they won't let me get a new phone at a discount so i can change my technology"

Any idears guys?

Hi, Im new here and this is my first thread even though I have viewed this forum for quite some time.

I do work for Cingular and I am at work right now actually. I have not been here just 1 1/2 hours and I am just so aggravated and fed up with some customers that are just complete jerks. I think everyone that works for Cingular might have had this before. I have had 2 seperate customers in here this morning that have had phone issues. Here they go:

1) Customer had a Nokia 6102 and said the keys dont work on them. I checked it out and they didnt work. Reason they did not work was because the phone clearly had liquid damage to the phone. Explained to customer and he started bi***ing b/c the only liquid it is around is when it is...

What is the deal with the resellers? DOes Cingular back them? Can just anyone be authrized to resell for Cingular?
If I buy from a reseller will that hurt the profitability of my account?

I know all of the crap about the need to be an adlut for you to be able to sign a contract, but what is your youngest parent assisted contract. I had a 8 year old kid and his mom come in and purchase the samsung a640 for sprint. and you know the sad part, the kid had a better phone than his mom.

Is this possible? Will I be able to use text messaging, picture messaging, and the browser? How do I enable these features? If it matters I live near Chicago. Thanks

I have a young married couple who both have their phones under their parents names and want to create a new account under the wife's name and do a COFR for both lines to the new account. Why is it that every customer service rep gives me a different story and it seems like it will never get done. Can anyone tell me how they process these and the correct phone numbers to get the process done? I work indirect.

People that have used the RAZR for a while and are now using the Pantech....how does the speakerphone compare.........b/c Im reading reviews that the pantechs is crappy........and i KNOW the RAZR'S is terrible in my opinion.

We have already tried a master reset. I never saw it on my old 6682 but now I am using the 9300 so I can't refer to mine.

Any idears would be great!!

I live in Tucson, AZ and 3G just got launched earlier last week for Cingular here. It got me thinking a bit.

I know the only 3G in Tucson now is Sprint Power Vision (operating at EV-DO rev. 0) and CIngular I believe is operating at UMTS speeds, with a possible HSDPA upgrade in the future.

There are some places with EV-DO rev A, correct? Can anyone give a side-by-side comparison of the 3Gs on the CDMA and GSM side? EV-DO rev 0 on wikipedia says it can pull 300-500 kbps real world and UMTS says 400-700 kbps. Can anyone vouch for these speeds?

They finally posted the names of Cingulars 2 new upcoming Treo's. They're pushing for a October launch on both. Look like we'll be getting a thin(12mm) samsung windows based finally with UMTS/HSPDA. Fall looks really great! 😁
