Cingular Wireless Reports Strong Second-Quarter 2006 Results

A little bit surprised with some of the reporting. It is as follows;

1.5 million Net new subscribers.
1.7% overall churn
1.5% postpaid churn

Total net on network= 57.3 million customers

Arpu= $48.84
Data Arpu= $5.77
Postpaid data arpu= $6.60

Sony Ericsson W810i replacing W600i?

Just wondering if the Sony Ericsson w810i is replacing the w600i and if so, since it seems like the w600i has been discontinued and is no longer listed on Cingular's website, does this mean we might see the w810i anytime soon?

Problems with CU500

So we got these in the store last week, and I really want one. Problem is, I'm not in a 3G market (shouldn't actually BE a problem right). The main thing I have going on is when I put my SIM card in (3G) it doesn't show service. Same thing happens with my co-worker's phone. Oddly, another one of my co-workers has a 3G card and she said her's works. I've tried 4 out of the 5 phones we have here. Anyone have any ideas? Do I need to change something in my account to UMTS or something?

cingular service

I have had Cingular service for almost a year with continual problems. I have replaced the V3RZR 3 separate times after I was told "it must be a hardware problem." I have even had the SIM card replaced and that has not solved the dropped calls and poor connections. Am I the only subscriber having difficulty with Cingular in the NY City Metro area? I never had these problems with Verizon, and I switched because they have the worst phones. Please advise.

Media Net Error Code 1005

I am on the family share plan with 4 lines
on 2 of the lines, we have media net on it
one phone works ever so well without a hitch
the other one, keeps getting error code 1005
saying they are having technical difficulties and other BS as well
Have talked to Cing many a times for the last 2 months, each time they open a ticket and someone will be in contact within 3 to 5 days
both times I had tickets open, never a contact, never a fix and still same error after 2 months and a 3rd fix it ticket

More Upgrade Policy Stupidity

Probably been brought up before, but let's assume we have a customer who doesn't meet the requirements, and they're on a $69.99 plan with 3 $9.99 add-a-line's.

Let's say the customer wants to upgrade into a treo, and increase their rate plan, and add the unlimited data to their account?

Would they allow a discount even if the system showed them as being unable to achieve such a thing?

I remember this is the way exception upgrades used to go, they'd only approve them if the customer initially increased their plan or added features.

having a hard time with the new policy

Hey there,

I am having a really hard time trying to explain this new upgrade policy to my customers who are not eligible to upgrade yet out of contract. It isnt always about how much money the spend either. (I had a guy with a $150 dollar rate plan with 4 additional lines 3 of which were blackberries and he wasnt eligible.)

The POS doesnt tell you why they are not elgiible...and its hard to explain to the customer why they aren't without basically saying "You guys should probably just go to another carrier"

So to all my fellow reps out there, how have you been positioning it to the customer. I want real tips, not the scripted responses that upper managment gives us.

Tether CU500?

Hello,
I use a data tether to check email on my laptop while traveling and would like to find a 3G capable phone on Cingular that will support this. I was wondering if anyone had been able to tether the new LG phone. From the specs it looks like it only does USB mass storage mode.

Can somebody quickly outline what the new policy is?

Sorry if I sound stupid here, I have breifly gone over the last couple of page worth of threads and I gather that the new upgrade policy that everybody is bitching about has to do with higher end customers getting more of a discount then the good ol' 29.99 customers, however I am not a Cingy employee nor customer and wondered if somebody could breifly spell out what the new policy was that everybody seems pissed at.

All I can find is people just complaining what it is but I am still not clear on what exactly the terms of it is.

help me cingy rep please!!!!!!

i had a w600 an it fell in a pool i went through lockline and they dont carry it any more they sent me d807 witch i hate!!! because i cant do my acc music .files plus i have to order a micro sd card reader!! i dont like how bad the speaker is compared to my w600!!!

What do i do? can i return it to lock line? for w600 or lg cu 500??

any help from a cingular rep or somwone that knows would be great!!!

Unlimited Text

My friend told me that he now has unlitmited text for about $25 extra bucks a month. I was wondering if anyone else has this>? He tells me that his mother got it for him cuz his bill is always higher with texting.

Giving A Little Recognition To Reps.

🙂 This post is for all the people who actually do a good job helping their customers and making a good example for their company. There is too much bashing going around these forums and everyone seems to want to blame the reps like we have control over any carrier's policies.

I wanted to take some time to give some props for my follow reps caught in the middle taking crap from both sides of the job they do. Sometimes not every customer is a pleasure to help and your bosses can give you stress disorders but hopefully you just one drink away from peace. 😉

Sales Contests

Is it just me or manufactures not having sales contests as much as they use to? Moto was good for 2 a year. Nokia, at least one a year.

Has anyone heard of any manu. putting up one soon? Not that I need anymore phones, but giving an additional incentive to my employees would be nice.

I don't know about all of you in ps land, but I am busier than a cat covering u ****e. Sometimes I ffel like a rock throwinf Palestinian! 🤣

grampa's phone

i need to get a cellphone for somebody 60+ that is really simple to use and has the ability to display extremley large fonts. any suggestions? grampa needs a cellphone as his buisness line. he doesnt want anything with "high-tech gizmos" like a camera or qwerty keyboard. i wouldnt be suprised if he didnt want even a contact book.

Upgrade Policy's Implementation in POS.

At my store we use POS.com for all of our work.

What will it say when a customer does not qualify?

Every time I've gone to upgrade one since this started it's said they're eligible.

Can anyone explain why...

As an indirect dealer we can't let customers pay they bills in our store when it is suspended for non-payment, we have to waste theirs and our time getting them on the phone with customer care. There seems to be no merrit to this policy.

Unlimited MInutes!!!!!!!!!

There is a new cellphone company Pocket Communications that boast unlimited minutes for $28. You know the wild monkey commercial. How does this differ from Cingular which doesnt want customers using N&W or M2M because Cingular says they lose money on those customers?

any updates for 3g and florida

The last i heard it was scheduled for july but no updates. Anyone heard anything? Im in central florida and i have noticed that i lost the edge on my pone quite a few times recently, i thought maybe they were were working on it it but i havent heard any confirmation. any updates would be great.
