Upgrade to Motorola v557?

On Cingular's website, it don't seem like they are offering the Motorola v557 anymore. This phone must have been discontinued.

Does anyone know what the upgrade to this model is? A flip, camera/video phone, EDGE data, bluetooth. And is something other than the Razr that's been out for quite a while already.

How long should you charge your battery?

ok, i've found just about everything on cell phone lithium ion batteries, except how long they should be charged for. I ussually charge my phone over night and one of the girls i work with is telling customers that this is a bad way to charge your battery. She is telling customers that they shouldn't leave their cell phones on a house charger over 4 hours. I've found that a lithium ion battery should not be fully discharged regularly and that lithium ion batteries are typically good for 300-500 charge/discharge cycles. Can anyone tell me what they have heard or have documantation/websites to back this up?

Thank You in Advance

I think I might do it.

I think I might sell my Treo 650 and buy the new LG CU500. I'm 20 and don't use HALF of the applications that the Treo has, and the size of it is starting to annoy me. I have a couple of questions.

First off, I am a rep, so I know opinions about LG and all of that, but I'm going to ask anyways. What do you guys think about the new LG? I played with it for 30 minutes a little while ago and it looks awesome.

Secondly, how much should I sell my Treo for on Ebay? It has a little wear around the screen, as I got it from one of my friends. I would include a 2 Gig SanDisk card, which I will wipe all of it clean before shipping.

What do you guys think?

New upgrade policy questions...

Has anyone heard what the base ARPU cut off is going to be for the new upgrade policy? I know it states that customers have to profitable to upgrade, but are there any base guidelines on it? Like a customer has to be on a 59.99 plan or higher, or is just some arbitrary formula thats being used....?

Cingular Policies

First, let me say this- I work for cingular; I am very grateful to them for my paycheck, and I really do think that it's a great company that does a lot of things right both with their employees and their customers.

With that out of the way, I've been a little bit shocked in reading these forum posts the last few days about some of the policies now in the process of changing or that have changed very recently. Why has not a single cingular employee lamented, as I do, that cingular's policies seem to be FAR inferior to Verizon's?

Just recently, I recall reading that Verizon customers would be able to upgrade with a significant discount after only 6 months (and please don't even try to tell me that an early GSM exception upgrade is equi...

Surpised this hasn't been brought up yet.

Cingular is raising the price of the 7 o'clock night and weekends. The individual prices will change to 8.99 and the family to 16.99. The big thing about this is that current customers are not grandfathered in. They are changing everyones prices. Maybe I'm over reacting but this is a big deal. Also Cingular will start charging 4.99 to TDMA customers in efforts of maintaining the legacy system. Just thought I would bring this up, figured it would get some responses.

Questions regarding Prepaid Plans

I am considering buying a prepaid plan for my son who recently joined the military. There are a few questions I have though:

- If I buy the plan here (Midwest), will he be able to use it in South Carolina and Maryland? We are talking approx. a 6 month period on the East Coast, before his permanent duty station (don't know where that will be).

- Unlimited Mobile to Mobile on the "Pay As You Go Unlimited Mobile to Mobile Plan" does this mean that the standard airtime charge will not be deducted as long he calls someone on the Cingular Network?

- How many minutes are on the $100 Card Denomination. I'm assuming 1000 minutes.

- Can Text and Instant Messaging along with Internet access be disabled?

I would appreciate any input you...

Where to buy?

Ok. I really want to buy the Motorola L6. But, I have no idea where I can buy one. I am currently with Cingular and I cannot upgrade for another 9 months. And I really don't want to buy the phone for $250 from them. Does anyone know where I can buy one cheaper and with a 850/1800/1900 band or quad band (850/900/1800/1900) it would be great if anyone can help. Thanks.

PDA with Yahoo mail

If I understand correctly, the new Blackberry 7130 requires that I actually go out to the yahoo mail website to get my email.

I had a treo for a little bit but got rid of it because I only had the choice of either logging into the website to check it or using versamail, which pulled down all of the thousands of emails in my mailbox.

I have multiple email accounts through yahoo and I'd like to have a device that goes out and checks all of them and notifies me if I have new email in one of them.

Do I have any options as far as phones that can do this or am I going to have to browse out to the website to do it?

Vicious Refurb Cycles

So after working for a cingular authorized agent for the last 3 months i have noticed a sad and vicious cycle in the way our warranty services work. I have had a number of customers dredge their way through phone after refurbished phone in the attempt to get the working product they had originally paid for. What is worse is that since they are on a two year contract they are SOL if they continue to have issues with said phones after their first year as the warranty then expires.
Further more, insurance then being one of their few options offers to sell them a refurbished phone for 50bucks. why would one want to buy a refurb when all they have had is heartache over the last year in dealing with these devices. is there no way out of this ...

My Katrina Experience(which phones worked and didnt)

Very very disapointed with cingular wireless's performance during this hurricane. The power went out for the whole town meaning cell towers were down. I woke up to go in the attic to avoid the water then i thought to get my phones. In my pocket i had a cingular, sprint, and verizon phone. We were tryin to dial 911 as we were stuck in the attic with 8 ft of water. My cingular phone would not work, no service for almost three weeks. You'd think with an allover network it would be durable. It wasn't, so ipowered it off. Next is my sprint phone. I powered it on and it looked for service for about 3 mins then picked up a digital roam signal, with a sigh of relief i dialed 911. The call connected but then i heard a "Welcome to verizon wireless, al...
