Is the lawsuit really unexpected???

Here are just a few things that Cingular has done over the last two years to "Raise the Bar":

Limit customer's choices of equiment and rate plans to discourage customers from remaining on former AT&T plans. A.K.A. "Force Migration" to Cingular service.

Oh yeah, does anyone remember the $18 migration fee (for each line)?

Rollover - Now, if you change your rate plan, you can only keep your rollover minutes equal to the minutes in the new plan. (i.e. you have 3000 rollover minutes and want to change to a 39.99 plan w/ 450 minutes, then you only keep 450 of you 3000 rollover balance)

Roaming - customer's that use too many minutes on other carriers networks are being cancelled, without a choice. Also, customers that use too many minu...

I need your help with a termination policy.

Guys, I've had the worst experince ever while working for Cingular. I had an irate customer come in the store and after trying to make my point across over all her name calling and threats; I pissed her off and she threw her 8125 at me and hit me in the cheast.
Now, my question is this. Do we really enforce our customer service abuse termination policy? That bitch threw that phone at me and left, the cops don't seem to mind. I bet if I had jumpped over the counter and beat her ass they had taken me to jail; and I would've lost my job. 😕
Since I couldn't defend myself I want to terminate her account ASAP. (call me crazy, but I'm just human and I crave some type of revenge) Having the 8125 thrown at your chest ****ing hurts!

Wireless Bob posts

About a year ago a Cingular rep on the boards posted these "Cingular Customer Bob" stories (can't remember the exact name). If I recall correctly, he happily quit his job, and stopped posting the stories. Does anyone know how I can get to them, or are they lost forever?

Nokia 6230

Does the Nokia 6230 currently work on the Cingular network?

I've heard some negative things about the phones (ie freezing, not accepting sim cards, etc). Has anyone had any experiences using the phone, pos or neg?

Thanks.

I have seen the new phones from Cingular

Cannot get into how but i have seen the new lineup of phones comming out.

Cingular 8535.. update to 8125 is much faster and adds a 2mp camera. i was hoping i could try out cingular video on it be we are not in a area that has it

LG cu5500... nice phone and 3g also. priced right this could be a razr killer

Nokia E62.. very disappointed in this. now everything it has it does quite well but no carea, no 3g no wifi. might as well be a crackberry.

HP 6925.. complete garbage for the pricepoint. Voice qualit is horrible and reception is horrible. Very disappointed in this. i was told this phone could debut as high as $800... i would avoid this at all costs

Verizon trolls in cingular forum, cingular trolls in verizon forum....

Grow the hell up!

Stop acting like anything on phonescoop affects your paycheck and keep that corporate brainwashing to your-freaking-selves.

Who cares if someone is switching companies, it in no way affects your freaking life! Stop being a mindless freaking looneytoon! A higher percentage of fecal matter on your tongue will not get you on the board!

Dealing With The Wireless Industry. Pt. III: Out For Blood

👀 I have to be careful because with the lawsuits going around I have to be careful so I don't get sued. Seriously though those case is gonna get settled in no time at all. On to more interesting stuff, I recently ran across a post on another website where a customer said that all cell phone reps only care about making a sale and not the customer.

This stuck a cord with me, being a independent agent myself, and hearing this made me mad but also had me thinking is there any truth to what this guy is saying. I enjoy making my customers happy with their purchase even if its a small sale because I know they will come back or bring more business my way. Yet there are a few bad apples in the bunch.

So this question is for all the ag...

last days for current upgrade policies

😢 in checking several accts in the last few days it looks as if this will not be a good change for our business. It might not change much in more metropolitan areas where there is more data usage, but it looks bleak for the rest of us. In checking these accts I looked at 30 accts. Of the 30 that I looked at 24 of them will not be eligible for contract renewal/discounted prices. I can hear the screaming customers already. I will not go by the moronic q&a sheet from the csp to smooth this issue. I will simply tell any customer not eligible to dial 611 and complain. Don't know what they are thinking, must be they took lessons from the enron execs on how to destroy a good thing.

Cell / Landline

Several years ago cell phone companies had a home device that you put your cell phone into and you could use it and extensions as you would a normal land line phone. Is there anything like that out there now?

GSM gains more market share?

Ok guys, in Venezuela the 2 (and only) major cell phone companies were CDMA. This changed back in 1997 when GSM was introduced in the country. These three regional companies were introduced as follows:
-Digitel (Central)
-Infonet (West)
-Digicel (East)
These 3 GSM companies just merged last month (a la ATT & Cingular) to form the first and only nation wide GSM carrier in the country. The merger just started a few weeks ago. (Im very excited as you can imagine)

Now, I just happened to realize that Movistar (main carrier in the country) Is starting to switch from CDMA to GSM! LMAO. It's starting the transition by Xmas. A spokesperson said that they were doing this to be more competitive with Digitel (the newly merged GSM companies) I ...

WOW, Cingular got sued...who cares.

😡 I'm not a fan of any carrier but since I work for Cingular, I know someone is gonna ask me about this class action lawsuit aganist them. To be honest, the way this society works it was only a matter of time before someone took them to court just like people do with every other damn corporation. People sue each other all the time sometimes for dumb reasons and I have to say this Cingular degraded our service one is both funny and kinda sad.

Funny that these people really think Cingular went out of their way to mess with their old TDMA service. TDMA is a dead network just move on because suing Cingular wont stop the corporate giant from continuing on with GSM, HSDPA, and UMTS which is far better than TDMA.

Sad that even if these peo...

Cingular Wireless Refutes Lawsuit Filed by The Foundation for Taxpayer and Consumer Rights

Cingular today refuted the points made in a lawsuit filed against the company by the Foundation for Taxpayer and Consumer Rights.

"This lawsuit is completely without merit," said Joaquin Carbonell, Executive Vice President and General Counsel. "Cingular has spent nearly $10 billion in integrating and improving its networks in the 21 months since the merger was completed, leading to a significantly improved customer experience and the fewest dropped calls of any national carrier."

Since the merger, Cingular has made extensive improvements including broader coverage, fewer dropped calls, improved capabilities and improved churn.

Cingular band on unlocked phone - true coverage?

Sory for the confusing title.

I'm a T-M customer and frustrated with weak signals. I bought an umlocked phone and it virtually always shows "Cingular" instead of "T-M" of the screen. Two related questions ...

1. Does this mean that I'm really using the Cingular network/towers?

2. If I force the phone to use Cingular, am I getting the exact coverage I could expect should I switch?

Another question ...

What is the stste of the two GSM carriers in terms of network ownership/leasing? Are the two networks virtually identical, as I'd heard a while ago?

Talk of changes.

I have been reading a lot of comments of cingular changing upgrade policies. Does anyone know what specifically they are going to change. Which markets are going to be affected? When does this new policy go into effect?

Cingular and its weak line-up of phones. would u agree?

would ne one agree someone should try throwing these plastic pieces of **** phones cingular has in thier line up at cingulars main headquarters window, with a note reading: stop approving crap phones! cingular has the weakest selection of all the carriers. not one high end phone worth buying. for being the largest US carrier they should consider loosening thier ties amd sell the Nokia N93 for example if they got their 3g in focus (like all the other competition is doin with improved networks). i beginning to wonder y i have cingular. god i hope an executive with balls reads this.

Blind Loyalty...Is Any Carrier Worth The Arguing.

Now I work for Cingular as a independent rep and enjoy reading how other reps feel about new company policies and phones and so forth. Yet everytime I visit these forums I always see someone doing the usually Cingular Sucks or Verizon Is Terrible or TMobile is Crap posts and I really wonder is this my service is better than ur service really worth the time it consumes. I know there are a few customers who check out these forums before going into a store because they think its honest, fair comments but its really not. This loyalty to a carrier bs is getting old because no one is really loyal when they always check if another carrier has a better deal for them.

If your a customer and you read this please dont fall into some of these posts b...
