Phone Warranty Issue...

OK This really pisses me off... đŸ‘ŋ
I currently have a SE 710a that I absolutely LOVE. Best phone ever!!! or was! For some reason the phone will NOT dial out nor receive calls or send or receive text. Everything else works... I called Cingular and they said my warranty expired non-sense! I purchased a phone last Jan. that broke 3-4 months later, Cingular replaced it w/ a 710a (refurbished) and then something went wrong w that phone. Once again cingular replaced my phone w another refurbished 710a. Now this phone is broke and they said they won't replace it b/c my warranty is up on the 1st initial phone I purchased. I feel like I shouldn't have to purchase a good phone every year... Is there ANYTHING out there i can do??? They said th...

Dealing With The Wireless Industry. Pt. I

🙂 This is something new I wanted to start doing that will help me make more sense of this wireless industry. Feel free to give any "good, worthwhile" comments to this post.

Topic of today is the US and why it doesn't get the same great phones that get released in Europe.

I know this has been discussed several times (well mostly just argued) but it makes me 😕 wonder with all the freedoms and perks we Americans have in this country why cant we get some of these great phones without having to order from a third party dealer or from the internet.(Shout Out to Ebay 😉 ) It makes no sense that the World's Most Powerful Country is behind the times on one of the fastest growing consumer products that almost every one uses.

Please guy...

? Regarding the cancellation of service...

First of all their are good things I like about Cingular Service...

Rate plan
Data plan
Rollover Minutes
Customer Service (At the store)

But the wife and I both got Data phones about 9 months ago....

And at that time I did not know about the annoying interference that the phone can cause with some phone systems, radios etc.....

When I first noticed this happening I didn't know that it was my phone.. And was a little embarrassed after wards. I was even told by customer service (1-800) that this was normal..

My wife has been told at work that she has to put her phone in a place that will not interfere and make obnoxious noises.

I am a consultant and it is really irritating when I am at a clients site and it starts int...

Minutes

This is probably a dumb question, but i am going to ask it anyways.

I have cingular, have had them for more than a year. If i call them and tell them i am going to be porting my number to tmobile for more minutes at the same price or very close, do you think they would offer me more minutes somehow to match the deal to keep me as a customer or do they not have that authority?

Bluetooth Problem

I got a new bluetooth headset today in the mail. It's a nice SE HBH 610a. I like it a lot, but I cant get it to bond with my v551. My bt headset is bluetooth version 2.0 and my v551 has the bt version 1.1. Is it because of this??? 😲 I am only able to bond it with my SLVR which has the bt version 2.0 also.
It's not a big deal since I use my SLVR more anyway, but it would be nice to use it with my v551 too 😕

My Experience Trying to Unlock My Phone

I paid full retail price for my S710a, had it since March 2005 and my account is in good standing. According to multiple sources, that entitles me to have my phone unlocked by Cingular.

My first two attempts yielded the typical "we'll send you an email in 5-7 business days", then nothing.

My third attempt looked positive, rep was ready to help. He gives me a code and its wrong (I tried it twice). I give him my IMEI number, I get another code, and its wrong (I tried it 3 times, I have stubby fingers). After 5 attempts, the phone says "Not Allowed" after each code entry. Rep gets tech support and they pawn it off to SE.

I call SE and they tell me what I told the tech support chick, Cingular locked the phone, not SE, therefore, Ci...

Let's speculate Q2

OJ, it's no secret that the network keeps improving more and more each day. Now, let's point out other things that are not talked about much.

PTT: We are gaining market share. 😁 Our PTT phones are better than the competition. VZW has only 2, and these are the same phones they came up with more than a year ago. T-Mobile lacks PTT. (I'll leave Sprextel out since they have Nextel, and they introduced PTT to the USA) Still our PTT phones are nicer than theirs, but of course they have more. 😕

CSRs: They are getting their act together.

TDMA: By now I think that less than 10% of our customer base still has one of these obsolete phones. We are doing a great job by offering these customers great deals (in the mail) on new GSM phones. ...

A good clamshell?

I am looking to find a new phone and was looking strongly at the d807. but I haven't had a clamshell in a few years and all of the clamshells on Cingular seem to be marginal at best. Maybe I am missing something. I am kind of hoping so ☚ī¸ Anyways, just looking for feedback. Anyone know of any good flips for cingular?

Crediting Termination Fees

I have a customer who wants to port a few lines over from Nextel, and is wondering if there's any way that I can get Cingular to credit back the termination fees that Nextel is going to charge him.

He's going to change anyway (of course, lol), but he's a really cool guy and I was wondering if anyone has had any success in that.

GSM CDMA and Nokia

Well I think Nokia has got it right jumping the CDMA ship. Check the article out:

This will allow Nokia to concentrate on HSDPA and other new phones. CDMA will not win out throughout the world, although they have gained a lot of market share over the last few years but Qualcomm is going to end up screwing it up for everyone. You have to continue to innovate or die. They don't seem to want to change. What will Verizon and Sprint do? This will be good for everyone because Europe has much better phones because all development is for GSM.

Verizon Rumor

An area manager told me that Vz is aiming at markets where we're having issues due to networks being integrated to brag about about how their network is more reliable and stuff. Do you think is true? It sounds like a nice marketing move an all, but this is coming from the same man who told me that by March 06 we would have giving all customers who upgrade to new equipment 128K sim cards! 😕
