Long Hold Times At XBM

Has anyone noticed the extremely long hold time at XBM lately? The Last several times I have called my hold time has been in excess of 15 minutes! Whats going on here? It doesnt seem to matter day or time, its always long. Any XBM reps care to share some insight? ๐Ÿ˜•

Switching carrier and keeping same number?

I know it's now possible to keep the same number when switching carriers, but I'm not sure if it still is under my circumstances...

I currently have Verizon, or rather a phone/number which is under a different person's name. What I want to do is to sign up for Cingular (under my name) but still keep the same number. Is it possible? And what do I have to do specifically?

Thanks for the help.

Cingular Reps and other gurus help me out

I am looking at two phones. Siemens M75 and Nokia 5140. I need a phone that will work on the boat and take the occasional splash.

Siemens- only works on the 1900mhz band. Since I am in NC from what I understand I will be fine but I can't use the phone to roam outside of the carolina region. So, I will keep a cheap backup to use in the 850 mhz region.

Nokia- It does have a 850 band but the reviews haven't been as good as the Siemens.

What do you guys think? I'm currently a month to month customer, is it possible to find a cingular shop that will give me a deal on these phones if I sign a new contract? Neither phone is listed on the web site.

price plan minutes on OLAM

I have 3 lines on a GSM Family Nation plan with 700 minutes and Rollover.

If I add up each individual phone number, the total number of minutes used is 278. OLAM indicates that I have used a total of 549, with 851 minutes remaining. I have 969 Rollover minutes.

If I have a 700 minute plan, why is it telling me I have 851 minutes remaining ??

Thanks

Massive 3G Rollout

Did anyone read the news on 3G on the home page? It mentions October as when Cingular will release more 3G markets. From what I understand this sounds like it's gonna be a massive roll out. What do you guys think? ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Why is it that some customers relate GSM with satellites?

This is funny, and it's been months since I've heard a customer say this. I used to hear a lot more when I was in a call center, but today this customer came in saying that he wanted to upgrade to a RAZR phone, not only because it was GSM, but because "GSM is better because it uses satellites" [I laughed deep inside] and educated the customer... lol The only explanation I can find to this is that they hear that GSM is global.
Customer: Oh! ๐Ÿ˜ฒ Global? Dang! this phone must use satellites!

ok... got Cingular/Slvr

I just switched over to Cingular and Slvr and so far so good! Really diggin this phone!!!

I always knew that I would be adding/using my own mp3's for ringtones etc. etc. but I REALLY HATE the ones that come with this phone!!! Why on earth would they not put a regular(phone ring)type tone on this phone?!?!? it's ridiculous but that's just me. Does anyone know where I can get regular (ringing type) ringtones?

Other than that I don't have anything to complain about (yet)

What happened to my Cingular service??? Someone please help!

๐Ÿ˜ˆ For about a week now, I've noticed that my cell phone does not get a signal (neither does my wife's - we both have T637's). I've always had good reception with Cingular, and suddenly when people try to call me it goes straight to voicemail - and I don't get a voicemail identifier. My phone, which used to say "cingular" at the top, now switches between "cingular", "no provider", or it's just blank. I've called customer service MULTIPLE times, and they keep saying that they're migrating towers (which seems to be a very convenient excuse). The customer service rep has even tried to call my cellphone, and can't get through. Occasionally, I can receive a call, but recently I'm finding that I've missed quite a few. I'm no longer in...

Cingular and T-Mobile

Does anyone believe Cingular will eventually buy T-Mobile? Or is T-Mobile too much to swallow at this point or in the near future since Cingular (ATT) has its hands full with the Bell South purhcase?

I read a different posting on another board that (more a prediction from someone than rumor or fact) Cingular/AT&T will buy T-Mobile, and change their name to AT&T Mobile to reflect the new wireless giant....That would be something....

Happy to See InPhonic Finally Get Sued!

๐Ÿ˜ All the reps have got to have heard this at least once: Well, Wirefly has the Razr for free online, can you match that? After all this time and over 2200 or so complains to the BBB, Inphonic's amazing rebates are being shown for what they really are amazingly fraud. I know its only in the District of Colombia now but when other screwed over people see this everyone will be suing InPhonic, its pretty funny. ๐Ÿคฃ
