ok which would your reccommend .. as I have no idea what exactly a unlocked phone has or doesnt have

I called Cingular and they are taking orders for 399 for the V3i yet I can get one from Ebay unlocked for 200 .. if I paid someone to set up my txt and such would I have the same programs and optons that a branded (cingular)phone has??

I recently went full bore into Cingular after being an ATTWS customer for years (from the CellularOne days in the mid 90s). Since we went with Complete Choice with ULD for our home service, I figured I'd buy two new "Cingular" phones, move my family plan over to Cingular's systems, then work it into a "bundle" with my Bellsouth home services...all to save an extra $10 per month with the whole Bellsouth bundle savings packages.

When I was on ATTWS, and I'd call my home phone number (Bellsouth), my home caller id would show "Wireless Caller" and my cell number...this always irked me...why couldn't it show FName LName like a normal caller id entry? we all know cingular released their 3G UTMS network in 63 markets i believe, i live in the metro detroit area in michigan and we dont have UTMS coverage yet, if anyone has any info, will cingular release UTMS/HSDPA coverage in the metro detroit area soon and what are their plans?

i was wondering if you guys could give me the address of a few good sites with unlocked phones? just so i have an idea of the general prices.

If i upgrade my phone and sign a new 2 yr. contract how much of a discount on a new phone would I be given. Would it be like the pricing if I was a new customer w/ free phones and some for like 20 bucks.

Im wondering doesent cingular allow people to roam as much as they want on their network until 2007 sometiems on the 210 freeway get emergency calls only and by the mountains and stuff. Also i was wondering since t-mobile recently installed a new tower near a high school which no phone works inside would i be able to use the t-mobile tower cuz thats the only service that works inside the school since they recently installed a new tower right next to the school. so basically cant i use that new t-mobile tower even though im cingular.

I'm thinking about buying a Nokia E70 to use with my Cingular account.

I'm worried about using the European version which only has GSM 900, 1800, 1900. I know in some parts of the country Cingular uses GSM 850. I primarily use my phone in SF, LA, and NYC.

Does anyone have a similar situation that can comment? Will my Cingular phone still work in the US??

hey everyone, i am joining Cingular tomorrow and was basically thinking along the lines of getting a free phone now and i am deciding between the razr and nokia 6102i. out of these two phones which one do you guys think you would get??? the reason i am getting a free phone now is that i will either wait for better phones to come out later or i might be traveling to europe this summer so might pick up a good phone from there unlocked and bring it back. also if someone has another phone they can think of that is really good i would like to hear about it. so i want to see what phone you guys would get tomorrow if you were me.

So maybe the call doesnt drop everytime, but it sure does garble to the point you miss syllables left and right. Or the call completely disappears and leaves you saying:

"Hello? Hellllooooo, can you hear me? I cant hear you, but if you can hear me, Ill call right back..."

How often does that happen to you all?

Recently I noticed that my data speed has dropped significantly. What causes this? I use my phone as a modem with my laptop. Also when will Nashville get UMTS or HSDPA?

I was just told by my Director of Sales that the location i manage will be taken over by an indirect agent on 7/2. Kind of hard to believe that after 5 1/2 years of service i will no longer be a Cingular employee! Anyway, I wanted to give a shout out to all the cingy employees that frequent this site. It's been great being a part of the team, and I'll certainly miss this company!

I heard from someone that Cingular is getting rid of that 99.99 unlimited charter plan... is that true? If so, what are the details behind this? When is it going to end, and what plan will these customers be forced into intead?

Does anyone know the reason why Cingular is doing this? My GOD, those unlimited plan people are the most loyal customer's you'll ever get. They plan on staying with the company forever.

Also, will they be able to get out of their ETF fee if they are still in contract? (I hope so!)

I know I ask alot of Q's but I'm very new to the GSM arena .. having been sheltered in verizons "you can only use our phones" stranglehold all this unlocked stuff is new to me

I dont care about using the phone as a modem .. using it to log on my laptop I just want it to make calls, txt message, picture message and hold the same signal strength that a branded cingular phone would

Oh boy I feel bad for all of you face to face/direct reps! Coming soon, the end of the AT&T Charter 99.99 plan. (For those of you that dont know what that was, it was Unlimited minutes when GSM was first rolled out and virtually non existent outside of metro areas)

As many of you know most Cingular offers discount to employees of large corporations, such as wal mart or home depot. I am trying to find out if they offer one for JCPenney I dont have a work email address and no one seems to help in the cingular business department. Thanks for your help
