I WISH....

That Cingular had never started the whole "Fewest dropped calls" campaign. I'm sure that I'm joined by all the sales reps here in pulling my hair out over the responses that I get from these ads.

While the ads themselves are clever and whatever ad exec that thought them up should be commended, they set false expectations.

By saying "we have the fewest dropped calls" people automatically assume that they will have NO dropped calls. As a rep I know that this is, of course, not the case since the cell phone has not been invented yet that does not drop a single call ever.

If I had a dollar for every time I hear something to the effect of:
"I thought Cingular had the fewest dropped calls....My phone drops calls all the time!!!"
I'd w...

Searching for Telegence Training

Can someone recommend a tutorial, training document, or outside training that can be used to get on board with the Telegence Billing application quickly? Info on version 9.0 or previous versions would be appreciated.

My view on the NSA situation. (mentioned on the verizon forum)

i already mentioned this on the verizon forum but in short, as long as the government keeps us safe they can do anything neccessary to do so and whether it is by spying on our every movement or calls then so be it. we can not afford another 9/11 or something similiar- our country would be devistated and the finances would be chaotic. (Even worse then it is now- it is pretty bad now)

What Are Your Thoughts on the Mystery Shop Program?

Anyone who works for cingular direct or an agent should be familiar with mystery shops.
I don't know if it's the same in all markets, but I was just curious if you think it's a fair program or if it needs work? I have had some cases where the msytery shopper remembers something totally different than what one of my fellow employees remembers. And sometimes there are employees that get 100% who dont deserve it!

Cingular Roaming

Hi everyone!

Recently my friend and I went on a business trip. I was going to make a phone call on the way there, but my phone had 0 bars. (I have Cingular.) My colleague who has T-Mobile had full reception on his phone. I thought that Cingular would roam off of T-Mobile if the strength is better. My friend's T-Mo phone roams off of Cingular all the time in the town we live in. (T-Mo has really bad coverage in our town.) Why can't I roam off of T-Mo towers if he can roam on Cingular towers?

Oh, and one more non-important question: Why is it when my friend is roaming on Cingular, the alpha (I think that's what it's called) displays "Cingular Wireless" and mine only displays "Cingular"?

Thanks so much!

Doubt cast over Cingular "fewest dropped called nationwide" claim

Thew New York Times reported on May 3rd that Telephia found that Cingular had a "statistically significant lower dropped-call rate than the competition across some market/time period groupings."
Now I don't know what that technical stuff means. All I know is it got me excited, until I kept reading and realized that Telephia also said that it had "no knowledge of the specific methodology (markets, time periods or statistical thresholds) Cingular used to reach the nationwide 'lowest dropped call' conclusion."
http://www.nytimes.com/2006/05/03/business/media/03a ... »

The Boston Globe reported on April 23rd that a telephia spokesman said that "Cingular shouldn'...

Bad thing about being owned by at&t

With the recent discovery that BellSouth was not sharing customer calling records with the NaziSA and that it was just at&t of the major regional landline carriers, it now seems that Cingular is truly going over to the Dark Side. How sad for our customers that we will be owned by a company which doesn't give a hoot about the privacy rights of American citizens.

Data charges in MMS messages (picture messages?)

Does Cingular charge for data transfer when sending or receiving MMS messages? Just curious; I don't think they do, but when I receive one (and, sometimes, when I send one), my phone does display the amount of information in bytes that was transferred. Thanks..

Cingular reps - repair/replacing 6102 to 6102i

I have been waiting to turn my 6102 in under warranty/insurance hoping that it will be replaced with the 6102i.

Cingular reps - in your professional opinion, how long should I wait to have my best chance of getting the Bluetooth 6102i unstead of the old 6102? (The volume button on the side does not work. I am thinking if I turn it in they will send be a replacement of the newer 6102i). Thanks for your insight!

Family Plan - East and West coast on same plan

I have heard there is going to be a convergence of the east and west markets so that you could have 2 members of a family on each coast and same billing. I heard it was supposed to happen on the 21st of May.

Does anyone know if that will happen or when it will happen if it is?

I need to add my mother to my plan but she is on the west coast and I am on the east coast. I know that I could give her an east coast number, but she wants an local number if possible.

Thanks.

Stupid comments from stupid people thread got me thinking....

I was going to post this in the stupid comments from stupid people thread but i feel like it deserves a thread of its own.

I feel like the underlying problem here, and customers who read the boards correct me if im wrong, is that the common customer has absolutely no respect for the person behind the counter. I have said this a million times but i will say it again, if the customer could maintain a level of respect and professionalism with the person who is trying to help them then their customer service experience is going to improve. It may sound like I am leaving it in the hands of the customers to change their customer service experience when technically it should be the other way around, but im not. We are there to help you the be...

help me Cingular people,please...

Let me preface this by saying that I am a newbie retard. That said,I do need some advice. I need a plan and a phone for EMERGENCY communication only. I recently moved in with my parents, who have health problems,to take care of them. I work afternoon shift and need for them to be able to reach me at work. I want to go with Cingular because 2 friends of mine, who have Cingular as a carrier, let me try their phones at work and I got great reception. I've tried other friends phones from Alltel,T-Mobile,and Verizon and all got very poor reception. First of all,is it the phone or the carrier that influences reception? (My experience says it's the carrier.) Motorola and LG phones from Cingular got great reception while Motorola,Samsung, and LG phones...
