"Who do you think we are, Verizon?"

I made a customer laugh earlier. She recently ported from Vzw. She wanted to know how to use OBEX. She said she couldn't do this on her old phone. I taught her how to move a pic to her daughters cell phone. She was amased. lol She then asked if she could do this with her computer. (this is when she said that verizon told her that she couldn't do this) I said: yes! and they I said: We don't cripple our phones. *** as I hid the LG CG300 in the back*** 😉 😎

Deals on Treo 650?

Hi, I am a former ATT customer who would like to buy a Treo 650, preferably from Cingular.
I had to wait until my contract expired in April to get another phone, but unfortunately, they are no longer selling the refurbished 650s on the website.

I have tried calling and e-mailing customer service to see if I could purchase one, or to get info as to when they might have more, but no one seemed to want to find out.

Does anyone know when they will have more refurbished Treos for sale, or someplace that has similar deals (around $140). I don't want to buy from Ebay and I can not afford to pay full price, but need a new phone.

Is Cingular getting the Treo 700 or something better in the future?

Thank you.

Vzw Vs Cingular solution for a phone junkie

So here's what I did

Loving the VZW service but really really getting frustrated with the lack of phones and crippled phones that they offer I signed up for Cingular

I dropped my VZW 4000 min plan (149.99) to the lowest available 450 min for 39.99 .. I took the 2000 min plan for Cingular @ 99.99 and added the extended night times

I usually used in the area of 3000 min .. sometimes way less but never more than 3300 .. not having a house phone it just depended on how much I had to call .. Having the ability to make unlimited calls after 7pm opened alot for me personally because working nights alot of my mins happened between 7 to 9

I didn't use my Cingular phone the first month .. just basically "tested" the signal in areas and ma...

Cingular phones vs. VZW phones

I've been a VZW customer and a Cingular customer since I've owned a cell phone. I noticed that all my VZW phones would get hot after about 10 minutes of talk time and really hot after 30-50 minutes of talk time during a conference call.

As for Cingular, the phones I've had with them never got hot during brief usage or even long conf. calls. The models I had for both varied from Samsung, LG, Nokia.

I also noticed (wondered if anyone notices this too) that with Verizon, after medium amount of usage during the day, I would get headaches (not severe, just enough to be discomfort). Anyone notices?

I've read other postings that the CDMA technology from VZW is the cause of the phones getting hot, vs. the GSM technology.

My wife has T...

NEXTEL 18 ... have a question

I have a question for you. Is there a way to do a field test similar to how you can do on TDMA handsets to determine what system a phone is camping on? Let me know if you need elaboration.

What is Cingular's policy when the cops confincate your phone?

I just had a customer stop in and asked what cingular's policy is when the police confincate thier cell phone. Apperently he was a witness to crime and the police took his phone to see if it had incriminating photos.

It's been 2 months since this incident occured and the police won't give back his phone (I'm guessing there must be some juicy stuff on it). Anyway he's got the records to prove the cops have his phone. Is thier something he can do to get credit or a new phone, or is this a case of too bad, too sad.

Thanks

"Reliable"...

No stray here, but What is there definition of "reliable". I do respect Verizon and there network but am confused by this term, or the statistical representation.

Cingular Business Customers services sucks

I have a account with 38 lines with Cingular. Palmetto Ford Trucks. http://palmettotruck.com/
They called me back in February and told me that the were going over the minutes.

I took a look into the account which is groups of family plans. Two groups were going over the minutes.
I changed those groups with customer service and had them back date it to the first of the February which is the beginning of the billing cycle.

Latter in March I call to follow up and found out it was not done and it would take weeks because of the number of lines and that it should not have been back dated but re-rated.

In April their bill was high again because nothing was done.

I spoke to rep at Cingular customer service who told me because it is...

Dropped calls !!!!!!

Ok let me say this leaving a coverage area or being in a ****ty coverage area and the call ending is not a dropped call ! those are known as gaps in service . I work in a call center and we have a program that shows call process failure and 99.9999999 percent of people that call and say that there dropping calls are not .
driving through hilljack boondock bfe usa and loosing signal is not dropping a call its all in the service agreement
WE DO NOT GARUNTEE SERVICE IN ALL AREAS !

BeyondGSM -anyone have experience with them?

Looking for a prepaid GSM provider with reasonable rates, expiration times and coverage. Came across this company. Seems to use the 850/1900 Cingular network, says no roaming charges, good international rates, etc. Much cheaper than product from Cingular and about the same cost as T-mobile, but with wider coverage on network. Any comments appreciated.
