I have been with Cingular since they started. I am looking at getting a new phone, my current phone which I love is about 6-7 years old and is not working very well anymore. I use to get a new phone every year or so but I have been really happy with this one. When I went into the Cingular store to see about upgrading my phone (after the employees told me my phone was old about a million times, duh!) they went on to tell me that I do not qualify for the 'new customer' price, since I am an existing customer. Is there anyway I can stay with cingular, keep my current phone number and still get a dicount on a phone?

Sorry if this has been posted before, but I searched throught 6 pages of posts and looked on Cingular's website. What is Cingular's upgrade policy? Does it go by the contract, how long you've had the phone, how long you've been a customer, or what?

Any definite date one the SE Z525???

I thought by now (5/27/06) Cingular would have more 3G markets. Why are they being deployed so slowly? Are they running into problems? glitches? or are they planning a massive roll out? like 40 markets next month or something 😳

So I have an issue.I set up the MMS and internet settings for Cingular on my 6131 and everything works fine except when I receive a video message "one or more of the message components have been deleted by MMS adaptation. Either the message wa too large or the components were unsuitable for your terminal." I know the video wasn't too large because it was only like 5 seconds long. I have had unlocked phones before and I have never had this issue. Any suggestions? I can recieve pictures just fine. is this a software issue? Am I screwed?

Also I no longer got a voicemail indictator when I have one....any helo with that issue? Thanks

I on average receive 15-20 calls per day and find that 2-3 calls come in without a ring or vibrate. I have my phone set to ring at the highest level with vibrate. Sometimes I have been holding my phone and notice the screen light up and say incoming call so I receive all my calls but some of them don’t ring. I went to my Cingular and was told to contact warranty exchange (my Sony Ericsson s710 was only a month old) and was replaced with a Sony Ericsson w600i and that phone started doing the same thing and now I am waiting for my 2nd replacement. Has anyone ever heard of this before? I thought it could be a network issue but was re-assured that because the phone was acknowledging the incoming call that it was not the network. Any thought...

hey guys, i just found out today that my contract with verizon is up and i am thinking about switching over to cingular due to the better phone selection and my family already has a family plan. i was wondering what you guys think the best phone would be for cingular? i am not really interested in an mp3 player and such. the most important things for me are reception battery life and bluetooth. also are there anyphones coming out within the next few weeks worth waiting for. thanks for your responses.

just wondering what new phones are coming out within the next week or two besides the razr v3i that might be really good??

Hey everybody, I used to use this site a lot to research phones and cross reference accessory compatibility, but now I am offically a part of the wireless industry and the world of Cingular indirect. I just accepted the position of retail store manager for a mall kiosk, and was wondering if anybody just had any tips or helpful suggestions. I read the thread earlier about the increase of required features for indirect, though my new employer has not mentioned any of this to me. Anywho, anybody have any tips or suggestions let me know, thanks.

ok so heres the deal .. my gf lives in Canada and shes having issues with her "new" 710 .. powering down and rebooting in mid call least once a day

when i was there we took it to the Telus store and they removed the batt cover and the sticker was red .. now i know she didnt get it wet .. she lives in a rather muggy humid area and the sales rep said that could be the reason it went red .. i personally think thats BS .. if a phone cant withstand humid weather WTF .. we just walked away without giving any info .. i assume there is a sticker inside and i bet my ass that its NOT red . .. the sticker on the back was half red .. cause its kinda stuck under the casing and that part isnt red .. just a tiny bit of it was

Question: My friend who has Cingular called me to ask me why is it that everytime he calls his mother (who has an old AT&T pre-paid phone) he uses his minutes... I told him this can't be! He claims he is using his minutes because on his bill there's an "M" right next the calls that are M2M. He doesn't see this M next to his mother's number. What do you guys think about this?

I was told by a local technician that the entire market is equipped with HSDPA a few months ago (and I assumed this was true when customer service said nighttime outages were due to network upgrades).

Ok, so its all over the TV. Cingular has the fewest dropped calls by an "independant research company" Who did this study? It could have been a paid off former enron exec for all we know! I tried asking customer service and and even a couple rep friends and after 30min on hold they had no clue. Come on! Where are the facts? A study was done yet not even the reps who work for the company know who did it? I guess consumer reports were on target...

How do I replace my AT&T phone without signing a contract with Cingular?

My wife and I are on an AT&T shared plan that has more minutes than we need for $49/month. However, my phone is having various problems. I went to the former AT&T wireless store and they said they wouldn't do anything without having me sign a new contract which would increase my rate. I don't need any more minutes, so it's just a waste of money.

Can someone explain, or send me a link, of how I could get another AT&T phone and continue my AT&T service?

This is another example of how inaccurate JD Powers' results are 🙄 Obviously they didn't poll/survey Cingular customers 🙄
