Doesn't work with cingular but working just fine with t-mobile

I have been having issuse with my Unlocked Nokia 6131 on cingulars network.....voicemail icon not appearing and not being able to recieve vidoe MMS because of "MMS adaptation." Yes all my settings are right because I can recieve pictures fine but not videos. I have plenty of memory, and the video format is compatable with my device. I used my girlfriends t-mobile sim card and everything works fine. I get a voicemail icon right away and MMS works fine. What the hell? At first I thought it was my phone but is Cingular just being stupid????? Any ideas? Cingular is trying to blame the Unlocked phone for my issuse, Customer service doesn't even try to help me.....help!

3G and Edge for cingular is garbage

"Both of Cingular's UMTS phones allow users to access Cingular Video and other 3G services using the EDGE network when the 3G network is not available. Users in many areas have been disappointed by the performance of video over EDGE, which reportedly hasn't provided much of a boost over GPRS speeds in many regions. Cingular is asking all national resellers to return their stock of 3G handsets until it launches 3G nationwide a second time in October."

3G NETWORK NOTO AVAILABLE, DISSAPOINTED BY PERFORMANCE, EDGE HASN'T PROVIDED MUCH BOOST IN GPRS speeds... WHICH MEAN YOUR THEORY IS SHUT DOWN

T-mobile doesnt have any problems with grps and our edge has help us advance gprs speeds on a network we are familiar with so we don't have to takes...

8125 or Treo 650 or wait for Treo 700

I am looking to change my phone. I got the SMT5600 and think its great. Just want to get something new. I was initially waiting for the new WM Treo, but messed with 8125 and now don't know which one to get. I heard the 650 was good too. Any suggestions? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cingular's new claim.. lmao..

maybe this isn't a "new claim" but it's a new commercial regarding the highly debated claim recently adverstised..

the commercial says..

"Cingular has the least amount of dropped calls, which is a factual statement made by the nation's leading independent research company"

first of all, who is to say that this mysterious research company is leading anybody, and if they are, how come there were no names mentioned? so uuuuhh who are they?

it's like saying, "Verizon Wireless is going to shoot laser beams at the moon and destroy it, which is a factual statement made by this very credible secret society of flying unicorns"

its funny how a single positive rumor gets started about Cingular by some unknown company, and ...

Delusional

I'm flattered the room is againgst me or a particular set of three. But a ICM for you that don't know is a interactive coverage map... all white shows no t-mo or cingular coverage and stripes shows cingular or whoever where tmo isnt present..... I personally checked out everything and I would say that cingualar has a SLIGHT advantage.... but thats pretty much it... im trying to give the little orange guy credit but he wants to go bowled with on alltell commercials

Cingular - Slvr Question(s)

Hello All,

I currently use Sprint and I can't really complain too much about their service(maybe because I'm not always on my phone, not a power user) but their phones are horrible so I've decided to try Cingular and want to get the Motorola Slvr or L7 if you prefer. Does anyone have any experience or can tell me about their service in New York City (Tri-State area)and also any info on the phone as well (good,ok, don't get it?) Any advice, info would be appreciated. Thanks

Time for an upgrade

today i checked my account on cingular.com, and i went to the "upgrade phone" link, and it said i was eligible for an upgrade, which couldn't come at a better time, im sick of my current phone that i have(im too embarrassed to tell, the phone really sucks, at the time that i bought the phone i really didnt know) anyways, that means i can take advantage of these lower prices,

the phones that are on my list are the:

Samsung D807, D407, and the RAZR V3i(its not out yet but it's supposed to come out sometime this month), also the Sony Erricson W600i

do any of you guys have these phones already and if you do, can you give me your personal reviews on them?, ill greatly appreciate it, and if you have any other suggestions ill also look int...

Should we expect better service with cingular over old ATT?

We have the old ATT/Cingular service in the Washington-DC / North Virginia area using a SMT-5600 phone (32k SIM).The service is not that great, I get a lot of dropped calls & spotty service. Also people tell me the voice quality on the other end is not great (this may be the pohone).

I have considered changing back to Verizon for a better network, but I do like the international GSM service and phones. On the other hand, I have a phone to make calls and it is bad enough to be a problem, I would not want to get new phones and service just to have it the same.

So the question is - is there any reason to expect better (or worse) service on a "true" Cingular phone?

Thanks!
