Vzw Commercials

What is up with Vzw commercials? Have you guys noticed how they have gone from the "most reliable Razr" to "the only broadband multimedia Razr" It seems like they are trying desperately to hold on to the little things they have. I think is funny how the vz "Most Reliable" billboards are nowhere to be found in my town (anymore). They put up a new billboard that replaced the fewest dropped calls for another one that boosts PTT. It says 'PTT made better' or something like that ๐Ÿคฃ Oh boy! I'm so happy for Cingular. ๐Ÿ™‚

Why is it so hard to do a rate plan with *NO* contract?

It's simple. I own a phone, but can't go on a rate plan WITHOUT a contract? Why is this? Hell, I spoke to multiple reps, and some times they say "sure, you godda talk to sales" then sales tells me that CS doesn't know what they are talking about.

Now I know there is the pick your plan thing, and that's fine. The only problem is that I have to wait 45 days from when i chose the "Pay as you go" plan to switch it over? WTF??!?!?

I have no idea why Cingular likes bending people over, but it's getting kinda outrageous. Is there anyone who can help me go on a rate plan WITHOUT a contract seeing how I own my own equipment? I don't care if I don't have promotional features such as Mobile to Mobile, because I don't know anyone Else with Cingula...

echo on z520--phone or network related?

I was having an echo on my old z520, so I called Cingular about it, and they let me exchange it (the main reason I exchanged it though was b/c it was shutting off by itself at random times).

The new one they sent me does the same thing though. Is this a problem with the z520's, my SIM card, or the network?

Thanks in advance.

PTT vs. text messaging

i want to know anyone's opinion on which is cheaper and more convienent(yeah i spelled it wrong),

ptt or txt,

i have a samsung d407 and it has ptt(didnt activate it yet cuz i have no one to ptt with, yet)

ptt could be a great alternative to txt plus it could be cheaper than txt minus the 9.99 a month(CINGULAR DOESNT HAVE AN UNLIMITED TXT PLAN, NOT THAT I KNOW OF!)

and if anyone has ptt, what is your opinion of it and experience

SIM Card Question

My father broke his Cingular phone so I purchased a used one from a friend who cancelled Cingular and switched to Verizon. My friend gave me the Cingular phone and SIM card which ofcourse I really did not need since my dad has his own SIM card.

So here is my question. If I purchased a unlocked GSM phone online would I be able to use this SIM card instead of buying one through Cingular?

Would I be able to call Cingular and tell them I already have a SIM card from a previous Cingular customer that I would like to use with my unlocked GSM phone?

Any information would be helpful.

Thanks

Blackberry Data Prices going down???

I swear on one of these threads tonight I saw that the Blackberry for Personal (no Domino or Lotus) prices was going to offer at $29.99.

I can't find the thread I read, but remember it said something about being available June 18th.

Anyone have information to help me out?

Much appreciated.

Opera Mini is a life saver

I got a treo a few days ago as a cou and couldn't stand the "internet" the way the palm software showed it. Especially not being able to click on links until the page loaded.

Everyone reading this, no matter what phone you have, go to opera.com and download opera mini for your phone. It speeds up internet substantially on a treo (only smartphone/data device I've tried it on), but I've also used it on the razr and the d357...

Give it a try and let me know if you agree.

Another which phone...

Starting up cingular service soon, and would like some help picking a phone. What I really care about: loud and clear call quality, reception strength, and battery life, ( I want a phone, not an everything but a phone ). Otherwise, addtional toys are nice.
Plus, I want to get one for my mom, so simple and easy to use is a necessity for her.

Phones I'm looking at:
Samsung D807 ( looks cool )
SE z520a
Moto v557
Nokia 6682

Any suggestions, or other models?

Any Rep want to make some money??

So heres the deal:

I'm moving away to London and definetely cannot take my cell from cingular with me. But they still will not let me out of my contract. So what I am asking is if anyone has any information on how I can get out of this contract for free, then if the information works, I will send a good amount of cash your way, via paypal or moneyorder, check or whatever you want.

I would GREATLY appreciate the help if anyone can give it a shot

Is EDGE enough?

I am planning on purchasing a SlingBox. It comes with a nice media application to watch TV on a phone. SlingBox recommends a minimum network download speed of 120 Kbps, which is on the upper side of EDGE's range. Do you guys have any experience with EDGE's performace in this application? Should I wait for HSDPA? If yes what phones will be available with Windows Mobile Version 5.0? I would hate to go the the other side because of the EV-DO availability in Minneapolis.
Thank you.

If I port one of the numbers out to someone else today, then I won't be hit with ETF fees for that one number because of the 30 day worry free guarantee??
Just want to be sure before I do this

Thanks to all

How Big is the risk?...

So i have a question... i just recently bought the V3x and in my rush i didnt realize the dorks who sold it to me made a mistake in their description... the phone was stated to be a quadband phone with 850 mhz.. when in fact it has the wcdma 2100 mhz frequency.... i know cingular primarily uses 850.... but.. how big of a risk am i really taking with all these gold sites going up? ๐Ÿ˜ณ

AT&T Sim Card

Does anyone if I would have to unlock a cingular phone to use with my AT&T Sim card? I'm looking into buying a phone off of ebay so I'm double checking if it must be unlocked even if it is cingular-released. My plan is too good to migrate to the cingular side. Also, if a phone has 900/1800/1900 band would that mean it won't work very well with Cingular coverage? Does Cingular use mainly the 850 band? Thanks a lot
