I do not normally agree with a lot of things you say but this time I agree. I use to come on here and read this for information and to see what customer's were saying because that is what this forum is about.

They are not naive. They are inconsiderate fools. Me and you both work in stores and we deal with people face to face. I worked a call center before and I will take that beating any day over people screaming in your face because someone on the phone like a lot of these people on our forum told them off. The average consumer does not care about our policies and they only thing about themselves but the fact is this forum is suppose to be for information and all I see is worthless employee bashing of customers.

To you people that th...

bag heads.

so with a beutiful weekend of rain and wind planed for the coast we're sitting here at work looking at all these emails telling us how we need to get ready NOW!! (gas up car, get h2o batteries ect) and as i'm laughing at the irony that i can't exactly run to wal mart right now the IT people come over and hand me a black plastic bag. turns out they want us to cover our computers and monitors and phones before we leave for the weekend. heaven's know the roof won't leak though, it's an old wally world building. 🙄 🙄 🙄 🙄 (in other words i'll come back and sit down on my little cinder block and try to keep the birds from pooping on me while i try to assist the customers.) sounds like fun, huh?

Cingular SIM cards

Hello, all

I have a GAIT phone. Is it possible to swap the sim card from my GAIT phone into a GSM-only phone?

I suppose the obvious answer to this is, "yes, you can put it in another phone."

But will it work?

I like the GAIT phone for travelling outside the limited GSM area, but I like the features in the GSM-only phones.

Thanks!!

EL OH EL

A customer just called in complaining about how there was a "power surge from the satellite" that "fried his phone", and he had to take it to Cingular and "they had to give it a jump start" to get it working again.

I still have no idea what they actually did to his phone.

Best Call Ever

Cust calls in. "I'm not good with cell phones and this is the first one I've ever had, but I was talking on it and all of a sudden the screen went blank and it stopped working." "Okay I'd love to help you with that. Can I please have you push the power button." "Oh......that worked. I never thought of that." "Yes ma'am just plug your phone into the charger and you shouldn't have any problems." Why don't people think of things like this? It's not that hard. My phone looks the same way it does when it's turned off. I should call in and find out what's wrong with my phone before I try anything. Gosh some people.

Who is the nieve one?

Some of you people have about zero empathy. And don't give me this venting B.S. either. I have been at this 13 years and if anyone needs to vent it is me, not some 2 or 3 year vet of the industry who has zero sense of history.

If you are a consumer and ALL you see are ads after ads for FREE phones why would you not think you should be able to get one too? Yet (some) people rip them for thinking they can get something for nothing. The industry is changing and free phones are going away in favor of more content rich handsets, but that in no way means the consumer AUTOMATICALLY gets that.

Take 0% interest for auto financing. If you went to a dealership that DIDN'T offer it you would think they are trying to pull a fast one or just ar...

1000 Anytime for $39.99?? She lied! Insider help?

I was a Cingular Blue customer. I called to cancel service so that I could get a better plan elsewhere. Cingular Blue retension convinced me to stay. She said that if I switched to Cingular orange, I could get the 1000 rollover, with no N&W for $39.99 (even though its not on the Cingular webpage anymore). She said that if I called back during the next few days, the reps would say that I have the standard 450 and 5000 n&w plan for $39.99 and that the 1000 plan would kick in next week. She said that I would have my 1000 minutes regardless of what customer care says.

It sounded a little fishy, so when I got my new V3 yesterday in the mail and activated it, I called in to see if anyone had heard about this delay process of getting the 1000 mi...

Heard this in the lunch room...

In the lunchroom I heard a rep. get a call where the customer called in looking at the welcome guide and looking at the SAMPLE invoice. Can you guess how the call went? That's right, "why is my invoice so high? and what does this word sample mean?"

Next call was from a customer who had an invoice for some odd cents, she paid it, the amount doubled, she paid it, it doubled again. She called care, thats right she was paying the CREDIT balance she has on her service. Even asked what the CR stood for.

Why do we get these calls?

Class action lawsuit my a$$.

Ok so i just finnished talking with one of our 'satisfied digital customers'.

Basicall she is upset becuase we can only offer GSM phones, witch means that in order for her to get a new phone she will have to migerate. She does not want to migerate becuase her plan with att is beeter then anything cingular has to offer. No surprise there. No she doesn't have insurance on any of her phones and one of them got wet. But she is going to sue us becuase we can't give a new digital phone. We agreed to provide her with service, witch we are. We just are not giving her what att gave her.

WE ARE NOT LEGALLY OBLIGATED TO GIVE YOU ANYTHING ATT DID. NOR ARE WE LEGALL OBLIGATED TO PROVIDE YOU WITH A PHONE.

I'm getting sick and tired of ev...

HAHAHAHAHA

this customer wasn't really rude or anything, but i HAVE to laugh

Young woman calls in, asking why we can charge 199.99 for the RAZR over the phone/net/store, when indirect dealers can charge 174.99. explained process on how indirect dealers can charge a different price as they are INDIRECT and not directly owned/operated by cingular. They cannot, however, migrate a business customer. She accepted my answer and proceeded to say " i just got a 200$ phone about 6 months ago and signed a new 2 yr contract, and i get really bored with phones, so you should give me that phone cheaper" and she was dead serious. I explained that you only get a certain amount of upgrades a year, and if she wanted this phone, we could even migrate her to cingular...

Kudos to dealers

Yes you read that right I am actually giving a kudos to dealers, let me explain.

Over the last couple years working here I have done my fair share of dealer bashing, to reps, dealers them selfs when they called in and on forums. So don't take me a a two faced person I hate dealers and everything they stand for but you have to have respect for them to be able to put up with the real ignorant customers that if I meet face to face I would punch in the face.

I have to express my sympathy to these dealers that get these completely ignorant customers that know nothing about wireless service and or think they know everything about it. As well the customers that think that since they where to thick to figure out that going to India would be ...

Here we go...

So I get a customer canceling her daughter's line of service, told me she is going to switch to another company to monitor her daughters usage for her. Good luck with that, seriously we don't babysit you people, we don't hold your hand and do everything for you. Show some maturity and do things for yourself.

How to resolve EVERY billing issue! -straight from a rep

As a rep I want to let everyone (customers as well as CS) that we too have billing problems (big surprise, I know). BUT there is a sure-fire method for solving ANY AND ALL billing issues that may arise. This method is timeless. It has worked for as long as there has been billing, and it will continue to work until the end of time or the end of billing, whichever comes first.

BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE!! Not only am I offering this method, but I'm offering it free of charge!!! I know it's crazy, I could make millions, but I just feel it should be public knowledge. I'm nice like that.

This is what I do when I get my bill and see that the pricing is off.

1. Read the statement. Chances are the reasons I'm being charged are listed pla...

Old Topic - New Information

When we last met class we discussed the charges associated with downloading a game, ringtone or whatever from Cingular.com.

As per previous training (and confirmed today that it did indeed work this way previously) downloading a game or ringtone WAS considered an MMS message.

Now it is all part of MEdianet service. It is all charged as kB (or MB). Pay per use or packaged, depends on your plan. And you are not charged until you actually download the game or ringtone (the text message sent with the link is admin in nature and therefore is not charged to the user).

Cingular is conducting data training (at least in North Texas) to update it's reps on the many facets of selling and understanding data services.
