The reason I work for Cingular and not the competition

Check out my post on the Verizon Forum. I'm glad that they are respectful to their customers.

switch speed (or lack thereof)

o.k. i don't know about any where else but i know in the south east region (due to t.s. cindy) the switch is running extremely slow ( 😳 5 hours is the record so far 😳 ) so if you are a cust and call in and we have to make a change (reconnect, delete feature, activation, ect) it will take at least an hour to go through. and if you are a csr do NOT trans to tech if your troubleshooting doesn't work. it probably did work, it's just the switch. and no we can't make it go faster. just thought ya'll might want to know that (customers) we are not just trying to get you off the phone and (csrs) check the switch or warm trans so you save both of us a headache. thank you.

ETF fun...

I had a customer dispute her sons ETF, turns out the little moron lost his phone. I offered her several options:

1) She can grab another TDMA device for her sons line.

2) We can sell her another TDMA device at FULL retail price = $149.99.

3) We can migrate the service to GSM for $40.00.

4) COFR.

5) Cancel and pay the ETF + Last month of service + taxes on everything = around $300.00.

She chose option 5 after 2 attempts to escalate to a supervisor to have the ETF waived, then discounted then fight the end of bill cycle cancel policy.

37 minutes later she was tired, the battle drawn on long enough, she just wanted service cancelled at end of bill cycle. I was proud that I had a customer screwed over because she would rathe...

Something to think about

THIS IS THE DO'S AND DONT'S O0F CALLING CUSTOMER CARE

DONT:
call into customer care and begin the call by saying " i have been a customer for x amount of yr's" this is an important feed to know yes... however it dont make much of a difference if you are or not if we dont have the acct up, we have access to how long u been with our customer.

call into customer care saying you have been a cingular customer for x amount of yr's becasue before the merge if u you had att service than you have been with cingular for let me see yah almost 8 months not x amount of yr's

do not call in asking to speak to a supervisor, being sarcastic, or yelling,
we understand things will make you mad and we are here to help you, but if you are going to i...

Media Works Package - Unlimited???

Wondering if anyone has any old materials from back around January on the available pricing plans at the time... I signed on with Cingular back at the end of Jan and I swear I remember the media works package that I signed on with had unlimited web. Had to call customer rep on different matter and thought I'd have her check my plans. She tells me that the package I have only has 3mb of web... NOT unlimited. I KNOW THAT CAN'T BE RIGHT. But she insists thats what I have and that Cingular never offered unlimited. But she also said that if I have any print material that I could fax it to her and she'd try to fix it. Anyone have any idea of what I'm talking about?? Am I just nuts and imagining thing??

we need special care for divested customers!!!

I have a North Carolina Blue cust on the line. She has over a year left in contract. She is having service issues whenever her phone registers on a SUN COM tower. We have done all troubleshooting and she's even recently purchased a new phone (former aws) she cannot migrate to cingular and suncom won't help her when she calls them as they say "you are not a suncom customer, you are still with att" she keeps getting flyers from suncom saying "if we can't meet or exceed competitions service etc, we will waive the ETF" but I don't have this info, and she is still in our aws systems. what the HECK!

Just be happy with your spoilled @$$!!!

Ok, got a call from a customer today and thought that it would be a great short call, WRONG. After listening to this undereducated broad for about 10 minutes I think oh shiznit this is gonna be the worst call of the day.... Long story short has Treo 650 with Internet PPU as well as the PDA connect unlimited, YEP. Charges out the a$$. Now one smart rep tells them, *before being sent to re rate* oh you only have to pay X amount and the rest will be credited... WRONG WRONG, yeah she got a bill this month and guess what she still owed. Credits on the account over 600 yeah it may have been our mistake but we fixed it and then the broad wanted more because it took so long to fix. LATE FEE, didn't charge, service never got interrupted but still...

Roaming with Cingular National Plans?

If you have a National plan with Cingular and you end up using towers owned by T-Mobile, SunCom, or some other GSM providor; do you pay a roam fee? If so...how much?

Why!!!

People tend to think that us in Cingular customer service read from scripts given to us by management. Represenatives have more than enough power to assist you with your issue. Most reps who complain about being afraid to do anything do not know how to use policy properly. We do not use scripts at all.

don't know why this bugs me...

for some reason i hate when people mispronounce cingular. iduno. just a pet peeve quirk i have.

"cing-U-LAIR" i hate that one... or "Cellular" or "cell-U-Lair" grrrr example ..

ever since my At&t did the merger thingy with Cell U Lair what-cha macollit my phone isn't working anymore and i think it's because of the cinguLAIR towers but aren't i supposed to be with them att?

Statistics and reality

Our company decided that they would hire a company to do a "mystery shopper" analysis of our selling skills.

So who do you think got the lowest scores from the mystery shopper? The two highest sellers in the company.

Who got the highest? A new hire who was essentially going through the sales manual they got in training the week before.

LMAO.

So what they are really measuring is whether or not you follow the company sales manual. That is such a crock.

I have been is sales long enough to spot "tire kickers" and quickly get rid of them so I can concentrate on REAL buyers and not the time wasters who come in.

Angry rant moved here...

I have called customer care 5 times in 2 days out of my 3 years being with the company. I had overage on ONE invoice out of my 3 years. WOW amazing I never bitched or wined other then those 2 times.

Late fee which could not have been my fault but my banks online system because as soon as I get my invoice from the mail, guess what, thats right I go ONLINE and pay it right AWAY.

2nd time was to replace the craptastic Motorola C333 that was Motorola's fault, not Rogers. I was willing to pay $249.99 for the Motorola V300 for another 2 YR contract but I was not willing to pay $10.00 extra dollars for the 7-8 months left in my contract. Rep. was super nice and came back offering the phone for $160.00, one jaw drop later and an "ok" and I go...

How do I send and receive Yahoo email ?

I have a Razr and a Cingular nation with media basic.
I was able to go to Yahoo and read my mail but how do I send an email from my phone and how can my phone notify me when I get a Yahoo mail?

My phone outbox states the message was sent but it wasn't. When I hit resend it asks "Connection to server required. Connect now? When I hit "Yes" it states "Cannot connect. Set-up incomplete"

Thank you all
