OK this question is about my account. a customer got a hold of my number some how so of course I had to change it. now on caller id it reads "out of area". i have called tech several times and they say everything is provisioned correctly. i have added WCAL and still doesn't change anything. i have blocked caller id still nothing. caller id has been reset several times and phone is provisioned correctly too.

any suggestions???

I'm sorry, and maybe I'm just feelin a bit mean but if I actually answered the phone, wouldn't that imply that we're open? I had to say "no" just to see what happened. I didn't actually expect her to believe me! 🤣

i have been reading alot about Cingular possibly offering the service on the news this week, does anyone have any input? opinions?

I'm interested in getting the Nokia 6101 if & when it comes to Cingular. Just wondering for those of you who have Nokia phones that allow for mp3 ringtones: how is the quality?

I saw on one of the forums that it's not that great. Do the rest of you agree?

I hear some peoples' phones & when it rings, the mp3 ringtone sounds kinda crappy. I have a z500 & I think the mp3 ringtones sound great (for a cell phone at least).

What makes you think you can travel to an area that you have no idea if it is covered or not. Then call in to change your rate plan thinking there will be no problems? Seriously people, think before you act.

Also, if the automated system makes you upset to the point you cannot talk to a friendly rep who has done nothing wrong to you. You have issues, please deal with them before you call us.

I dont wanna get flamed but i was wondering what is cingy really getting from this buyout? can someone list how cingular is benefitting from this?

Ok guys/gals, I'm going to be switching to cingular this september when my contract with sprint runs out. I'm debating between getting either the Nokia 6620 or the Audiovox 5600. Both are great phones and both have pros and cons as well. The only drawback on the Nokia 6620 that I have noticed is the bulky size of it. As for the Audiovox 5600, I've never heard to much info. on audiovox phones and have never owned one, but have owned a few nokias.

Which one of the 2 do you all recommend? Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated. Thanks-

I am a Verizon customer and have been for about 6 years if memory serves me right.

I live in NC and travel the whole northeast and southeast extensively for work.

Lately I have been really pissed with Verizons lack of quality, sleek phones. On top of that I have had some serious voice mail delays.

I want to start by saying I am very easy on my phones, never dropped one, and the current phone I have had for 2 years looks virtually brand new.

Here is all I require in a phone. VERY good speaker phone, VERY good ear volume, VERY good reception. I'm getting up there in age and the ears ain't what they used to be.

Ok I dont want to start an argument over which company is better. But Cingular does not work in my house or near my house because I am close to the border to Canada where it competes with the Canadian signal. Also my phone has the worst sound quality ever (e317). So I am switching to Verizon where my stepmom has service and loves it, especially around my house. My question is how much is my termination fee? According to Cingular email its 240.00 prorated at 20.00 per month for each month remaining on my contract. I have a 1 year contract, so if I have 6 months remaining its 120.00? Any agents can confirm? I am in the Buffalo New York calling region.

I know many stores are starting to get the black edition of the Motorola v3 Razr (though it isn't on Cingular.com yet), and I have just one question about it.

For those of you that have seen one hands-on:

What is the casing like?
Is it black plastic?
Is it anodized aluminum (similar to the original v3)?
Is it painted or powder-coated aluminum?

I have a v551 an im aware that the capacity to send any multimedia through cingular wireless is 100 kb. Im tryin to send a 99kb mms an it wont let me send it. what could be the problem?

i have been with cingular for about a year and a half. i've seen the likes of siemens come and go, also the release of LG, which sucks. what is everyones opinion on the best quality phones??
in our market the z500 and the x427 are two of the best "performing" handsets.
I own a razr and have done three warranty exchanges on it, last one i asked the rep who they get the most claims on and she said without a doubt moto and lg.

My mom has a old nokia that just uses the 900 frequency band an she has the miniunum 2 bars sometimes 3 or full. So for the ppl wondering what frequency cingular has in southern cali its 900 an 850. so i hope this helps a few ppl.

I never got around to buying the Fast Fwd for my T637, and guess it's gone by now. Always wondered if it would transfer caller's iden to the home phone ... or at least transfer the calling number?

If not, I'd probably just use it as a charging stand (assuming I see one come across eBay).
