I'm just here to say that I love Cingular and their quality service. True True, customer service is not the highest priority. But I believe Cingular is more dedicated to fixing problems before they start. I've noticed fewer dropped calls and improved service. Cingular's service is unmatched to VZW or Alltel. One day everyone will realize that Cingular is a company that is always looking foreword and with this outlook, you have a company that can't be beaten. 3G is coming soon, and the second largest carrier isn't even GSM (what the world has upgraded to). So again, thank you CINGULAR you have a customer for life. Anyone please feel free to give your opinions. 😉

my list of when NOT to trans to tech (and yes these have all been trans'd to me)

if you cannot pull up the acct neither can we. (ie: telegence call, care call center...international phone or not even cingular)

if they are being billed incorrectly for m2m feat.

if there is a dr.bag on the acct.

if there is a dr.bag on the acct.

if the cust is angry about poor reception and mapit shows med to low or no coverage (we cannot make a tower appear out of thin air, trans them to managment)

if the switch is showing 5hours backed up (like today thanks to trop storm cindy) we cannot make the switch go faster.

and finally if it is not service affecting (they can still make recieve calls) make a case and our group will call the cust a...

I work in CC and it pains me that when you get a call in which the customer is asking for credit and you tell them NO, they call back and the next rep doesnt just give them half, they credit the whole thing!!! I had a lady who fried her sim card and "was told" that she could get a new sim card for FREE. No notes supporting that of course...why??? B/c it doesnt even make sense...there was no VIP offer. The customer then gets gets upset with me b/c I asked her if she had her "device"---yeah I said "device" she said to me "I know we are annoying each other right now (And I was very annoyed I admit) but your trying to annoy me by saying device and not phone!" Which provider is better with this phone?? Which has faster internet surfing?? Which is better with Email?? Do either limit any of its functions?? I've always been a palm user so I've been looking forward to getting my hands on one... just don't know with which provider. Help please.......

This bugs the hell out of me. I work in a store that used to be at&t, when people come into my store they need help and we ask, are you cingular or at&t. most people have no idea how to answer this. if you never actually got a NEW cingular phone and a new cingular PLAN, you are still AT&T.

Makes sense. Vodaphone is a GSM company and only has a partial piece of CDMA. By buying T mobile they would own 100% of a US provider and be in their native GSM world with the money to upgrade T Mobile's network They wanted ATTWS....but Cingy outbid them.

I realize that wireless companies give away "promotions" and "free" phones for contract renewal to stay in competition. BUT...

Cust answers "im out of contract, what can you do for me to get me to renew it" i reply with "we have many options for contract renewal is there anything specific you're looking for?" (since i have no idea what she is wanting out of this, i'm not going to start offering the world) She answers "well I want a lower plan that will have the same amount of minutes, and the mobile to mobile feature"

she is on the 39.99 plan. with m2m, n&w and 250 promo mins (the most offered for her plan)

OK Im not that great when it comes to GSM phones and services but I was wonderingm are there any sites out there for GSM customers that offer free ringtones either accessing them from your phone or computer? I know some CDMA sites but not GSM...

I am currently with Verizon and live on Long Island, NY. I was wondering how cingulars reception was compared to verizons in this area. I have had no problem with verizon, just their lack of bluetooth phones. Is bluetooth really worth the switch? I currently see a deal on Wirefly for a free razr with bt headset included. I would have to cancel my verizon contract ($175) and shell out another $200 upfront for the phone when my contract is up at the end of January. What should I do? Please help.

Why is you paying your invioce on time a special thing. Honestly you paying for celluar service is not a favour for us. It is a business transaction. We give you service you pay for it. i fail to see any logical reason why you paying for it ontime is a specail thing that merits us giving you money/free phones/the moon and stars. Why is that you feel that becuase you follow through with your end of the bargin (the you pay for service part) that you should get a specail deal. I person look at paying my cell bill as responciblity and not me doing Rogers a favour. But then again i think slightly different then most poeple. I have a weird weird cell phone problem. I used to have T-Mobile and it sucked. I would get calls go straight to voicemail all the time, and the service wasn't great so I just changed to Cingular. Got a Nokia 6230, which rocks. I've made calls and recieved a couple. I have my phone sitting in my room. My gf calls me from her cell. She says it rings once and goes straight to voicemail. She tried it 3 times. Then, she calls from her home phone, and it goes through. What's going on? Why her cell phone and nothing else? (I didn't even move the phone at all and I have perfect service in my room according to the phone) Please help. Thanks

Went to Motorola’s website $217.00 after $5.00 coupon code SURRO, free shipping no contract. So for being a Cingular customer for more than 10 years, they’ll let me buy it for $50 (plus $18 for activation) more then I can buy it from the manufacturer!!!

If your going to stick it to you customers, you’d be wise not to F*&K them so hard they switch carriers!!!!

Each bloody day that goes by I feel Cingular is becoming more, and more like VZW.
I can't even recall the last time Cingular released a new phone. I know for sure it was more than a month ago.
WTF is going on? Does anyone know what phones are coming out in the near future? WTF happened to the Motorola A630?
Does it hurt Cingular to give it some room in their phone line up? I'm pretty sure that the reason it hasn't been released is because it would be more expensive than that flat-ugly thing (still overpriced) they call the RAZR.

You have been bashing Cingular customer service lately. What do you think Cingular can do to improve their customer service? I am not calling you out to be mean just wondering.

CTIA Request E911 Handset Waiver

The CTIA has filed a request that the FCC waive part of the E911 Phase 2 requirements. Part of the Phase 2 implementation states that 95% of handsets in use must be E911 capable and 100% of the digital handsets sold must also meet E911 criteria by the end of 2005. While all carriers now only sell E911 capable phones, many subscribers - especially in rural areas - have not upgraded to E911 capable handsets. If the FCC does not waive the 95% handset requirement, carriers will need to take steps such as offering significantly discounted upgrades to get E911 capable phones in subscribers' hands by the end of the year.

I have read that the Audiovox 5600 phone does have MSN messenger already installed....does anyone know if it can also run AOL instant messenger too? I have my AOL messages sent directly to my cell phone and would like to be able to respond back to them. Anyone dealt with this on the 5600 before?

The Voice Mail Indicator on my phone (T637) comes up very late, sometimes a day later. Has anyone had this problem? and how do I fix it?
