Decisions Decisions?

Currentyly with Verizon, liking cingulars phone choices better, thinking of switching, Will I be happy with service and reception. I have had no problems with Verizon. Thanks in advance..

Getting Antsy ...!!!

I'm wanting to upgrade my current 6340 & LG 1200 to just one phone that's got most of the gee-whiz stuff on it. BUT - I'm getting frustrated trying to find out what & when something's coming out.

I'm basically a Nokia fan and would like to get a Nokia flip - but that seems some months away yet.

I like the 6230 but don't want to move on it if the 6230i is "supposedly" just around the corner (or is it?).

The 6620 gets rave reviews here, but most stores I've been to say they just don't sell (some don't even have them) and besides, "supposedly" the 6682 is just around the corner (or is it?).

Functionally I like the Moto 551, but after several Nokia's and an LG I'm not sure I can deal with the Moto menus.

Any thoughts or input wou...

I feel like I am losing my job

I work for Cingular in the call center and I feel like I am losing my job. I used to be save team and they sent that to another call center that used to be AT&T wireless. We used to take general customer service calls but other centers are taking those. this place is mostly empty most people have already found other jobs. I was walking to my desk this morning and I overheard the director saying she is selling her house in the area. They have not hired any new reps in almost a year. Tech support is here but they are moving out of this building to another building down the street. I take combined billing calls but they have SBC reps doing that now. Dang

weird calls

has anyone else gotten a call from a customer saying that they have some automated system calling there phone ( no idea how they got the numbers) saying that they have won or can win a free trip and than gives them certain details ???

Wireless Amber Alerts

Okay, I know these have been brought up before, but I was wondering if anyone here is subscribed to them, and if so, how often do you get alerted? I think it'd be a good thing to do, but if its going to go off 1000000 times a day, i think i'd get pissed, and take it off...

also, does cingular charge for these messages?

I went to an AGENT!!!

Ok. Working for Cingular, I know how the business is. My grandmother is an AT&T customer and wanted to migrate. So I go to the local mall to the Corporate owned Kiosk and wait. I wait some more. I wait 10 minutes and no one helps me. No other customers around. No employees anywhere. So, I walk a few feet from the Kiosk to an Authorized agent. I explained what I wanted to do, got the phone I wanted at the price I wanted and left with my grandmothers newly migrated phone, working and all, in 15 minutes. The agent explained the upgrade fee, the migration process and how long it would take to go through. Of all the horror stories I've heard about agents, I am so glad this agent was there today...

Isn't it funny...

...how former Blue customers used to always complain about how poor AT&T's customer service was, yet every time they complain now about Cingular the first thing they say is, "I never had this problem with AT&T, their service was much better."

I had a customer say that to me earlier, and I wanted to laugh because I actually remembered handling a call from her last year when I was an AT&T rep (before the merger). Her complaint then was that AT&T's service sucked, now all of a sudden it was great and Cingular's service sucks... 🙄

New versus Upgrade Commission

Has anyone else besides me wondered why Cingular doesn't pay as well for upgrade customers as they do new activations? I think they should and here is why:

1) Existing customers have already shown great payment history, so there is no guessing game whether or not they will pay their bill on time.

2) Customer retention. When we get our customers to renew, that is another 1 or 2 years of steady cash flow that goes into our company.

Any other ideas???

what the hell has happened to cust. care?

is it just me or has customer care been exceptionally helpfull for the past month or so? as a RSC I have to call cust. care on a daily basis. For about the past month the reps have been friendly, helpfull, and will go out of their way to help even when its my mistake that we are trying to fix. the latest case happend today. I had forgot to add insurance to an account that i activated. the customer ran his phone over with a lawn mower. he called me to ask how to process the insurance claim, which is when we figured out there was no insurance. I called customer care and they actually backdated the insurance, and proscessed the claim with lockline for me, and the customer. WOW!!! I would like to say thanks to all the CSR's that have made...

Can You Hear You Now? Killing Me Slowly

So I'm working with a customer who is explaining in great detail how the computer MUST be wrong because he has his phone with him 24/7 and never lets anyone use it, so these calls MUST be a mistake and why can't I understand this because that what's REAL customer service is all about. And yes, he talked using giant near-endless paragraphs, as if trying to drown me in words. And every time I asked a simple yes/no question the flood gates would open and he would explain in great detail what a poor customer service person I was and that I should take some classes so that I could learn how to properly do my job. And then he relates how poor his service is and that his phone is having all of these strange and amazing problems at the same time he ...

Nokia 6230 Decreased Volume

Hello all, currently I am using the Nokia 6230. I have owned this phone almost a month and a half from Cingular. I really love this phone, however, over the last couple of weeks, I have noticed a significant decrease in the LoudSpeaker and the earpiece volume levels (and this is with the volume being turned up all the way). I can still hear clearly through the phone but at times its as though I almost have to strain to hear what the person on the other end is saying. It has not been near or in water (I made sure it stayed clear of water after paying almost $300 for it 😈 ).

Could this possibly be a software issue? If so, is there a way for me to get updates and/or firmware for this phone?

stupidity

is it just me or does stupidity bother a person even more when they are sick, i have a bit of a cold and i jsut had a women call in yelling at me cause her phone doesnt work
i asked her what happened on a call she said the screen is blank
i asked her is the phone was on she asked me how she would know i told her she would see things on her display
she turned it on and calls went through
she than turned and said well how was she sapose to know thi. i almost blew up

Problem with Porting

Having a problem porting one of two numbers. Got the first ported but have been having a problem with Cingular on the second. The technicians have now been telling me for over two weeks that they are working on this but I am still waiting.........
Could somone please tell me where to complain so I get proper assistance. Do I go to a government watch dog or is there a Cingular division?
Any help would really be appreciated.

Unlock code and XBM Question

So I have one of the V551 handsets with the software issues, white screen, etc. It is also unlocked because it was manufactured that way, not because I unlocked the handset.

If I use XBM, will the new one be unlocked as well? I have previously used XBM to swap out an older V600 for the one with the corrected hardware, and the replacement unit was unlocked. If not, will Tier 2 support provide an unlock code for my handset?

Just curious. I can always send it to Motorola direct, but I am wondering in case I come across this issue for a customer.

upgrade fee....

can someone please educate me why when one of our existing customers want to go from their old GSM phn to a new GSM and sign a new 2 year agreement we charge them an $18 fee to show our thanks? the other company charges less for an activation on a new 2-year agreement so the kiosk down the hall tends to steal quite a few of these people.......maybe im just ignorant but i also heard the other company doesnt charge this fee to their customers and they also GIVE them a $100 credit of the price of a new phn( not the retail price either the 2-year contract pricing). im glad that at least 1/2 of our customers dont do any home work at all and they just think our practices are normal.....end
