How reliable is letstalk.com?

Kind of a silly question to ask here, but I don't know where else to ask.

Reason why I ask how reliable are they is because I've received only a few calls about customers who ordered through them. Most of the calls relate to "Where is my order?" or "I want to cancel and return the phone. What do I do?"

Of course I tell them:
1. You didn't order through us, therefore we cannot track your order
2. Return the phone to POS.

So, in your experience as CSRs, how reliable is letstalk.com when it comes to issues as ordering and what they charge?

I checked them out today and I'm in also shopping for new service. The prices they have on phones are really great and they seem legit. I really want to also get the best deal to see if there ar...

Sending updates and Changing towers

For some reason today, I lost 99% of my service within a 20 mile radius (at least) of my home. By the way, I live about 5 blocks from a tower. I called in and they sent me an update to my phone and told me to turn it off and on. I've never heard of these updates on here, the only place I've heard of them are from when I call into customer service. Are they actually updates, or just a gimick to for me to power cycle my phone? What all do they update.

Also, in a situation like that, where I either have no bars or my calls are disconnected within a minute of connecting, why doesn't the cell phone switch to another provider's tower so I can use it? This could help to keep the calls to customer service down. Maybe a monitor could be set...

What websites can I view at work?

I used to be able to access proxify.org, infowire.org, and m90.org in my call center but I havent been able to get in since we went BAU (we just finished the complete transition from a blue to an orange center).

Anyone have any suggestions for websites I can access at work? I'm bored out of my mind here 😳

Just a quick question. My phone broke: the nokia 6230, so Will Cingular replace that with the same phone? if not what other phone would they probably replace it with? And lastly, would it be possible for me to pay extra to lockline to get a different phone if they are only replacing it with the same one if i wanted a different one? THANKS 😁

Well - the surprises keep on coming.

Today I was greeted to find a bill in my mailbox. This bill for a total of $300 some dollars. Needless to say I was shocked!

As I glanced down the bill I was amazed. I was being assessed the liquidation fees (early termination fee I later discovered), the activation fee, prorated usage for the media package I never asked for, and a prorated charge for the plan which I never activated or used.

The early termination fee was a shocker considering that I had canceled well within the remorse period. The activation fee was a shock...

New Migration Policy

I just got word on Friday that the Cingular migration policy has changed. Now AT&T customers have the same criteria as upgrade customers. If they signed a one year on AT&T they can migrate their 11 month on their contract, and if they did a two, they have to wait until their 21st month.

I thought the whole point of migrating customers is to get everyone on Cingular's billing and enhanced network. What is going on here?? What happened to the fact that they can switch at any time?

FCC Complaint Data

The following is excerpted from an article on page 9 of the July 2005 Consumer Reports. Yes, July 2005 - It arrived in my mailbox on June 2nd.

"Cell-phone complaints: A sorry picture for Cingular/AT&T

Complaint data obtained by Consumers Union, publisher of Consumer Reports and ConsumerReports.org, from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) show that Cingular and AT&T, which combined last year to form the nation's largest wireless phone company, have the worst combined complaint record for 2004. AT&T alone has had the worst complaint record two years running.

The graph below shows total complaints per million customers for every wireless carrier that had more than 1 million customers at the end of 2004. It also br

Want a new Nokia Flip & upgrade my plan

Hi. I want to upgrade to the new family plan. It's just me and my husband. We have a very old plan, we share 250 minutes, and we get charged for roaming. Vacation time is coming, and we have already gone over our minutes slightly a couple of times, and we will be roaming during the summer. I'd like to get the new plan, because although in the end it's going to cost me $10 more, it's worth it for all the extra minutes and the no roaming charges.

The only thing holding me back is, we are both eligible for new phones, but I want a Nokia flip phone. I love my Nokia's, and it's all I want. Yet, I'd like a flip one! I don't see on here that Cingular will be getting one any time soon. I'd be willing to buy one off of Ebay if I had to. ...

If you don't feel like taking the extra two minutes to thoroughly go thru settings then please use your manual. We are here to help you and when you speed thru settings and such you miss important steps and get frustrated.

Where Does Cingular Use 850 MHz?

I understand that Cingular started out with 1900 and is adding 850.

I'm currently with T-Mobile and I'm happy with my unlocked Motorola V600. However, T-Mobile V600s are only tri-band 900/1800/1900, they do not have the 1900 band. I'm thinking of switching to Cingular but want to keep my 1900 only V600.

I'm in Southern California. Where does Cingular use 850? How many percents of the network are 850 in California and nationwide? Thank you very much.

Old News, Nothing New

I think the responses by so many of these Cingular followers are pretty funny when trying to defend the customer service and customer satisfaction figures.

Back in September there was a meeting held in all major markets regarding these figures and the steps needed to make them right. Agent principals and key managers, Corporate owned retail managers, call center directors, regional managers and exectives attended these meetings.

The jist of this was one thing, we suck pretty bad when it comes to customer experience and we need to step it up. Anyone who thinks this may be blamed on consumers is in a dreamworld.

The good thing is we call came out of this with one goal in mind, number one in EVERYTHING. Cingular was not satisfied wi...

Why is there a union at Cingular and not at Verizon?

Unions exist in companies that the employees feel they can not trust management to be fair and upfront. We feel as Cingular employees we can not trust Cingular that is why their is a union. When I talk to a my friend at Verizon he feels that they are pretty fair when it comes to pay benefits and career path. Cingular employees in customer service do not feel the same way at all. We all feel overworked and underpaid and not very appreciated that is a generalization but I think it is the truth. Any former blue reps have any opinions about joining the union. Are u for joining a union or against it?
