"Cell-phone complaints: A sorry picture for Cingular/AT&T

Complaint data obtained by Consumers Union, publisher of Consumer Reports and ConsumerReports.org, from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) show that Cingular and AT&T, which combined last year to form the nation's largest wireless phone company, have the worst combined complaint record for 2004. AT&T alone has had the worst complaint record two years running.

Who Screwed Up?

I go into a customer's account in Telegence to check notes on previous calls, and I see this memo:

"i opened the wrong acct, oooooooooooooppseee 🙂"

🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

Now seriously, couldnt you just close the account and move on? Maybe I should start leaving random notes in accounts:

"i'm rick james b**ch!"

inter carrier mms

i got a question. i know in march cingular came into a agreement with verizon to share picture(mms) i can,t figure out for the life of me on how it works.. me and my woman both have cingular and she has verizon as her work phone so i wanna send mms.. can anyone help here >??

Is Cingular still offering the "GAIT" option on GSM Nation Plans?

I know that in the fall of '04 Cingular made it possible in most (if not all) areas of the country for you to have GAIT-access, provided you had a GSM Nation Plan & either the 6340i or t62u phones that work on GAIT.

Anyway, this isn't the fall of '04 anymore, and buddies in two different states have tried doing this and are having tons of trouble with CS. While CS tells them it can be done, it sure doesn't seem to be getting done.

Is it just a matter of getting a rep that is familiar with how to correctly go about doing this or is the company pulling the rug out from under this (as I was told) free option?

I was about to go from straight tdma to gsm provided I could have the GAIT option added on, but wondered what those in the kn...

What about this survey? (blue care reps)

I have been with Cingular (formerly ATTWS care) for approx 9 months now onto to recently have had my job completely changed from actually helping people with problems to basically being a new verion of telesales. Now I work in a vendor site and Cingular is blaming us (all vendor sites) for the poor customer service ratings. Now, since approx 2 weeks ago we have been doing a survery with the customers "on every call" about their customer service experience. Almost every person I've done this survey with has given me a 10 out of 10, and this has been the case with basically almost every other rep I have talked to about this. If this is the case, how is it that Cingular can blame the vendor sites for the poor customer satisfaction? I think...

Mobile Phone tools for Moto Phones

OK my computer just went to heck 😡 I had Mobile Phone Tools and used it alot. Unfortunately I cant find it again, does anyone know where I can get this software? .....Of course I mean for free. 😉

Find a new job...

Why do you guys (Reps) put up with Cingular's bull? Why don't you just find a new job? It seems to me that alot of the reps that post here aren't happy with their job at Cingular. Why suffer? Find a new job! or STOP COMPLAINING!!

To Voicemail too FAST

We have new cingular phones and when we receive calls, the phones or system goes to voicemail in two rings! That is hardly time to answer the phone. Any ideas on how to solve this problem?

Price Plan Changes

Gots a question for you.

Hypothetically speaking.
Say if cingular has a plan for $39.99 and has 400 minutes. And say 5 months down the road, the $39.99 plan changes to 450 minutes (still n&w/and those other good promos).
#1. Can a customer move to the new promotion? Does it require a fee?
#2. If they can, does it extend their contract?

What's the point??

Why are we aruging about the war and the unlock code? This is a cell phone forum and not Larry King live.

All Sammy wanted is a solution to her nephews AT&T phone in Iraq. Some of us offered solutions to her problem others decided to get personal.

Whether we belive in the war or not, is NOT the issue. The purpose of this forum is to help one another out with problems and questions regarding Cingular and the wireless industry.

I would like to go back to helping folks instead os reading pointless threads on this forum.

Another thing.....if you don't know or unsure, please don't post incorrect information here. They idea is to inform and give an educated buying decision to our customers. If I have to correct onther person about Lock...

UPGRADES

Does anyone know why we are paid less to upgrade a current customer that is out of contract than we are a new customer? From day 1 of training the Cingular trainers teach us that it is more profitable to keep a customer than it is to aquire a new 1. so here is the problem with that reps tend to blow off upgradeable customers to move on to the next new add. these current customers get mad at the poor customer service they recieve and leave the company. wouldnt it make sense to have the pay-outs on an upgrade equal to those of a new? this way reps would try just as hard to keep an existing cust as they would to get a new? therefore reducing churn as well? this may sound a little crazy and i may need to see a doctor but let me know how u feel!

customers confuse me

i just had a cust was looking into migrating, after explaining that plans just changed on june 1, that he could cmove up or down on current shared plan and couldnt get the 69.99 plan with 9.99 extra line and spoke about the 79.99 plan, and went over 2 nokia 3120 free after MIR adv he would need crdt card over the phone cust said he will go check out nextel, do customers not realise to open a new service over the phone that involved a credit card no matter where you go 🙄

CINGULAR CHANGED THEIR PLANS....they no longer have regional plans and there is no 600 minute plan either....CRAP! 😡
