850 MHz Locations?

Where are the locations in the country where Cingular uses 850 MHz? I have a few unlocked GSM Nokia phones (900/1800/1900) that I use once in a while and would like to know where my coverage will be limited while traveling.

WOndering if i can trade my v551 for a a630?

I was just wondering is there a way i can trade my current phone for the a630 when it comes out. My reason for this is because i realize the a630 is more for me since im really into text messages and emails and i think the keyboard will be a big help. If i cant trade my phone in ill gladly buy the a630.

Question about quarter results.

Ok, so let me see if I understand this correctly. Is Cingular counting the people who migrated from ATT to Cingular as an add? or are these 1.7 million customers that were reported "NEW" customers?

Can you say 49.1 Millions Subscribers?

Cingular posted 4th quarter results today!

The results?

Cingular added 1.8 million subscribers in the fourth quarter bringing the total to 49.1 million. Churn was kept to a little over 2%.

Great job Cingular.

Motorola a630

Word is that Cingular will be releasing the Motorola a630 by Feb 8. Does anybody know what the price will be? I'm a legacy AT&T Wireless customer, so I would be migrating, rather than porting.

So does anyone know?

Just out of curiosity, how long is T637 going to be with Cingular. I'm going to be getting a new plan with Cingular in August and was wondering if it will still be around or not. I would really like to get this phone then. But am afraid it won't be around. Also does anyone know if there will be any versions of the K500i or K700i that will be 850/1900 GSM in the States. Those would both be nice phones, but I can't find any info if they will make any. Please any info would be good to hear, also if there are any suggestions.

Merger?

Wow. If there was a merger with AT&T Wireless, that would make AT&T/Cingular (whatever name they chose) the biggest wireless carrier. Bigger then Verizon. O.O

Cingular rate plans, the best around?

After checking other carriers for better rate plans, minutes vs. coverage, Cingular has without question, made a positive change in wireless as we know it. Look at Alltel's rate plans for example, their 39.99 plan national plan only has 1000 n/w mins, and 1000 mobile to mobile. Cingular's same rate plan has unlimited mobile to mobile and 5000 n/w. That's a big and clear difference. If you're shopping for a deal, you found it, and keep your unused anytime mins.

Above all else, we all talk on our cell phones, why not get the best deal you can.

Raiding Party

You know what I find amusing? These people who are diehard loyalists to whatever service provider they like going into other carrier forums and posting defamitory, and argumentative statements trying to incite some sort of angry response from the loyalist in that camp. It reminds me of some futuristic, apocolyptic tale where these different clans are all raiding each other fighting over the water in the last clean river or something. It's funny. I'm not saying stop. These incursions into each others Turf is at the most basic level amusing and in general beneficial to all communities in creating discource between the carrier minions that we all are.

Anonymous Call Rejection

Anyone know how to enable Anonymous Call Reject for Cingular Wireless?

This is for people blocking their caller id and it showing up as PRIVATE when they call you.

Thanks.

Please Help Me With My Project

Hello, I am doing a project for a class, picking the best and worst cell phone service providers (that are offered in my area) and I need to collect information via a survey from cell phone users about the services that they have received from their respective carriers. So I figured what better place to post then here at phonescoop.com. If you would like to help me with my project here is what I need:

Name of carrier:
Rate Carrier (1 good - 10 bad):
What you liked:
What you didn’t:
What phone did (do) you have (be as specific as possible):
How did CS treat you?:
How long were (have) you (been) with them:
Then just your comments:

At the end just an area code (for classification purposes only):

Just copy and paste the above and...

may leave cingular....just not sure

I've been a cingular customer for many years now.
I still have a cdma phone and may be getting a new one soon, that is if Cingular will provide a phone that does what I need and is a decent price. Any ways that's another issue. The reason I'm posting is b/c of the new GSM network. I understand the "no roaming" deal, but this seems to be a bad thing as well. Here's my situation. I have family in south GA and the Savannah area. My phone works now (extended) but still works. If I switch to GSM, will I totally lose my service in areas that I currently roam???? If I breakdown or something and don't have service b/c of the GSM, my phone will pretty much be worthless. I would rather pay a roaming charge (if necessary) than have no service whatsoev...

Sony Z500

Has anybody else been having problems with this phone not wanting to send mms? It seems like almost every one of those phones we sell here, over half of the people come back because some feature doesn't work, normally the mms. I know this is their first flip, but come on...
I spent 3 hours with one customer today with that phone, and two more just like it.. all settings correct (checked with tech on every phone) and still a no go. Called customer service and checked out that account, they said all systems go on their end, tech support said the same. Finally exchanged the phone for the v551. Worked perfect.
So whats the deal? Any ideas????

T637 help

Hello all,

I just ordered the T637.

Could someone tell me if I can enter phonebook entries via my PC? This is one feature I was hoping for but the documentation is foggy on it.

I assume software comes with the phone?

Cheers.

Not liking v220 - v180 any better

Hello,

I let my husband talk me into the Motorola v220 when we migrated to cingular. So far I can not get calls in or out when I am in the house, get static everytime I try to make a call so bad that I can not hear the phone ring on the other end (regardless of signal strength), when on a call the signal cuts in and out, I have yet to get full bars anywhere in Sacramento, CA and had better coverage with my TDMA phone. I have had every person I know with Cingular test our house and they can get a signal with no problems. Since I am less than one week into the 30 return period I am wondering if the V180 is any better? I do not really care about the camera. That was the selling point for the husband not me. I just want to be able to use the ...
