Cingular voicemail help

Hello,
I was hoping there was a rep or tech on the forum that could maybe give me a quick fix for this problem. I traded a recently purchased v551 for a Blackberry 7290 Thursday, and everything is working fine, except that my calls do not roll over to voicemail when not answered or ignored. It was working prior to the switch. Could switching phones/plans have something to do with it?
Before switching to Cingular and buying the v551 (I was on the ATTWS TDMA netowok), I was in the Cingular store shopping phones, and mentioned to the very helpful rep that I didn't have VM. He said that it was free, asked for my number, and clicked on a computer screen, and it became active. Any help would be appreciated so I don't have to either go int...

Service has gotten WORSE since Cingular started selling Service in my area

My wife has a NYC Based Cingular Nation Contract.

The area which we now live in upstate New York (Dutchess County Area)was previously served on the Extended Network through TMobile, Cingular only started building its own infrastructure and selling service here.

Before there were any Cingular towers here, she received a strong signal almost everywhere and rately lost a call while using TMobile towers. Now that Cingular has a few towers here, it FORCES the phone to use Cingular towers, with a poor signal, when a TMobile tower with stronger signal is available.

When a call is placed on the Cingular tower, often with only one bar, the call ends up being dropped, the phone looses service momentarily before picking up the strong TMobile ...

In my team huddle today, one of my Corporate Managers sat in our meeting. We were told that our fourth quarter numbers were above target and looked promising. He didnt give us any specifics, but he did say we were more like 47 million customers. Im cant wait to see Verizon's results.

Im a national accounts rep with 3 major carriers. Cingular Tmobile, and Sprint. During the holidays cingular being new to my market, sold hand over fist. Ive noticed alot more call fails and defective equipment coming out of the cingular side (making my life miserble). Im wondering if its the same accross the board where cingular is brand new to other markets? 😲

6820 excluded in certain regions

So Cingular is pushing the 6820 on their site now, but it's excluded in certain regions. Is there a technical reason for this?

Are there any work-arounds (aside from buying an unlocked phone?)

Can I start the plan using a relative's address and then move everything (including changing numbers) in a week (or less)?

Can I sign up via AT&T and then switch to Cingular?

Lawyers

🙄 I tell it seems like everyone and their brother can keep a lawyer on retainer. I just had a customer on the line whining about who his phone display doesnt light up when the phone turns on (LG 4015). Gave him his options and started to get him to migrate to CSE and then all of a sudden it was like F*** this, Ive been on the phone all morning 😢 (Cry me a damn river!) starts bitching about how he just wants the phone to work.

Has anyone used their Cingular service to talk en-route to Iowa from Illinois along I-88? I noticed from the GSM reception map that their is no service available after you get in the middle of IL.

Your help would be greatly appreciated. I would like to switch from Verizon to Cing and I travel this route.

Cingular migration experience

I recently found myself wanting to upgrade from my ATTWS Motorola v60 on the old TDMA network to a phone with more capablilties, specifically internet.
I went to the 2 Cingular stores in my city, one of which was always a Cingular store, and one of which has always been Cingular. The reps I interacted with in the always Cingular store were not knowlegeable at all, and rather blase about helping. However, in the other store, I happened to hookup with 2 reps, both of whom were possessed of considerable technical expertice. I decided on a Motorola v551, and made the deal, and my phone worked IMMEDIATELY. The whole experience in that store was quite pleasurable (this was a few days prior to Christmas).
Over the ensuing interim of time, ...

Same Account different Area codes(why not?)

I used to work for at&t wireless and there is one policy i think cingular should pick up. That is have users on the same billing account with different area codes. Why can u not have one billing account with the users in different area codes? i have worked on many business account where there was 13(etc.) users with different areas codes because they all were in separate states. From what i understand with cingular where ever resides the user are forced to have the same area code. maybe this has changed, but if not many business cus.,parents with kids in college, or what ever the case is will be not be very upset.

Cingulars new to my market

Im a national account rep for tmobile cingular and sprint. Cingulars only been availible in my market since the 15th of nov. The novelty has lost much of its luster. Let me explain......
In December I sold 146 phones of that (being that cingular was new to my market) 50 percent of the phones I sold were cingular. out of the 3 accounts I have had by far more complaints and concerns on the cingular side then any other carrier. Call failed's being the most common error assoicatied with new or migrating customers. And thats just the tip of the ice berg. Customer service is far better on the cingular side then with Att, but alas I really get tired of answering the same questions with the same problems. I have a 2 percent return ratio and Ive bee...

Questions about data/MEdia billing...

I'm a little confused about how data transfer and the like is billed with Cingular. Assuming I am not subscribing to any data packages...

-You are only billed one cent for every kilobyte (1,000 bytes) of data transfered on the mobile internet...correct? I notice my phone keeps track of my data times, as well...for example, I transfered x amount of data in 34 minutes and 42 seconds. Does this usage time have any effect on billing?

-I have a Motorola v551, which has a mobile AIM option which let's me log onto my buddylist. Does this incure any data usage? And if so, how? Is it based on activity? Such as sending IMs and checking online status, or is it just a matter of the time I spend logged onto AIM? Messages sent and received while log...
