A happy customer now pissed off

I've been a customer of Cingular since the second half of 2003 and I'd been happy with everything! Hold times were considerably lower than at my former carrier AT&T Wireless and my inquiries were always resolved on the first try...

HOWEVER, thanks to the recent merger, Cingular has picked up some of AT&T's dirty habits. Cingular and T-Mobile used to be the ONLY 2 carriers to offer additional lines on a family line at just $9.99 per line per month. AT&T offered $9.99 ONLY if your base plan was high enough. As for Sprint, Verizon, and Nextel, their add'l lines were always $19.99 per month across the board, regardless of your base plan.

NOW, unfortunately, Cingular has adopted AT&T's pricing policy for family plans. If your base is $59.99...

Ugh ... Best Buy®

Best Buy® has this phone (in my area) for $199 through 01.08.05 with a $50 gift card, but ONLY with NEW activation. Why!?! It is a $35 difference (activation fee). Why not up the price $35 and try to push the poor phone out to consumers that are willing to take a chance with it? When the lil' nerd told me it had to be a new activation as opposed to a contract renewal, I just shook my head and walked away. Of course, I know it is not the nerd's fault.

Can any ATTWS CS managers assist me?

When I signed up for my ATTWS plan, I was offered 60 additional anytmime minutes for life from the rep on my second and third lines. When I got my bill and view my minutes online, I see that the 60 additional minutes are in fact not for life but for 1 month. How can this be resolved?

If Anyone is Considering a MegaPixel Phone

If anyone is considering buying a MP camera-phone, I would go onto mobileburn.com. There is an in-depth review called "Megapixel Shootout" that compares the Sony Ericsson S710, the Siemens S65, and the Motorola V710 (verizon). It contains numerous Hi-Res photos taken from the phones themselves. Also, it has pics taken from the Nokia 7610 and the Sharp GX30. You may have to search for it.This is the most accurate and informative review on the above phones that I've seen.( no offense to Phonescoop )Happy Hunting.

Poll: Motorola or LG?

What's everyones opinion between Motorola and LG when it comes to phones? Considering cellular technology has came a long way since the huge "bag" phones and car phones...now is the time that manufacterers are making big strides to make us, the consumers, more attracted to high tech products.

Motorola and LG are both pioneers in the latest phones out there with plenty of positives and negatives for both, just depending on your personal experience if you have ever owned either phone from whoever made the model.

With Cingular introducing a new UMTS/W-CDMA network in the fourth quarter of 2005, both Motorola and LG are on the list to provide the first phones with this technology on Cingular. Which one might make a better appearance in t...

flash

Why don't most of Cingular's camera phones have flash? This pretty much applies to all of the current Cingular phones except for the MPx220. I know most of them have some light filters and stuff, but they just don't seem as good as the flash. Just an interesting observation to me.

I am so SICK AND TIRED!!!!!!!

This merger has brought out the worst of people. I think MANY of you can agree.

Lets look at it from 2 different point of views:

Industry insiders, i.e. CS Reps, Dealers etc...

many of you have stated that ATTWS came to a crashing halt because of freebies right & left. You often compare this thing like:
1. Your car dealership doesn't give you a free car because you paid your payments for XX amount of months
2. Your cable company doesn't give a free TV cuz of the same reason

Its a well known fact that its the little things that count. My car company let me refinance my payments for a lower PAR & my cable company gave me 6 months of FREE HBO.

Consumers:

You CONSTANTLY say... "GIVE ME A FREE RAZR!" or "WHERE AR...

Horrendous Service - A Merger Made in Hell

The merger of AT&T and Cingular has resulted in a complete breakdown of what used to be AT&T's good customer service. Let me enumerate Cingular's flaws:

1 - Virtually impossible to access customer service. Has anyone tried to navigate through the extremely long voice-only activated menu?

2 - No customer loyalty plan. I have been a customer of AT&T Wireless for 5-6 years. I have not asked for a new phone in 3 years. I wanted to upgrade my service but wanted a good deal on a phone. At AT&T, given what I spend, I have always received a free phone or greatly reduced phone price. At Cingular, I was given the same price as on the internet or in the store for new customers. I questioned this and was told that Cingular's customer loyal...

Unlock my V3 RAZR!

I just received my V3 yesterday that I purchased from an authorized Cingular internet retailer and to my surprise, it asked for a subsidy code when I put in my T-Mobile sim. I do NOT plan on using it with T-Mo, but I have about a day before my number gets ported to my new Cingular account. I am disappointed that this phone is locked considering that almost everyone else that has a V3 is unlocked. I travel a lot internationally and it is important for me to have an unlocked phone. I never thought for one second that this phone would have been locked. If I call Cingular customer service and ask for them to provide me with the subsidy code to unlock this phone, what are the chances that they will comply? I have a newly activated Cingular ...

Cingular or Verizon?? Please help

I have been a customer with Verizon for the last 2.5 years and I was thinking of moving to cingular. Couple of my friends have been complaining that Cingular screws up in billing and they customers are overbilled. I was wondering if this is true??? I have been very happy with verizon but Verizon phones suck!!!

I will be moving out of Syracuse, NY and dont know where I will be moving exactly ..could be to California and dont know which carrier best works there.

My preferences in choosing Cingular or Verizon will be based on the following:

1st priority: Coverage and service
2nd priority: decent phones (not a camera but something with speakerphone)
3rd priority: customer service (I have heard that Cingular reps are rude and dont h...
