If a customer migrates over to Cingular from ATT and cancels within the 30-day trial period, are they charged the ATT cancellation fee?

So, what ever became of the 20+ new phones that were rumored to be released in time for Christmas?

Okay folks, you have never let me down. I'm thinking of switching over to Cingular. Which of these two phones is better made and has the least amount problems with?
The v551 or v505?
I live in the Gainesville, florida 32614 area. Or for those people who haven't been on this area, two and a half hours due north of Orlando, florida.

My wife and son currently moved to cingular and got a motorola v220 and a sony ericsson T237 and both came with a 64k sim. I already have a cingular phone (motorola v400). It has a 32k sim. I've noticed that their 64k sims are not getting as good of a signal as my 32k sim. At first I thought it was the phone , so I swapped the sims to see if it was really just the phone my v400 was getting weaker signal with the 64k sim, and the v220 and t237 were getting increased signal. Why is that?

Two of my Cingular buddies say they have a slight reception improvement, those being in Concord & Elk Grove California, but everyone else says nothing improved. Myself and others notice the network is more congested at the prime evening hours of 430p-630p. (Network busy).

I got to compare my Nokia to my buddy's Motorola last night in Concord, and the Nokia definitely pulls a better signal.

Any Cingular or ATT GSM user out here notice any changes?

Along the same lines as the TMS thread, there's another Agent (GSM Wireless) that I feel is negatively impacting the Reputation of the new Cingular. I worked for this company for over 1 1/2 years and had nothing but problems, both at the employee and customer level. First off, they weren't taking taxes out of any of my checks even though I claimed "1" on my W-4, I ended up paying the IRS over $1400. Then EVERY paycheck, no matter if it was hourly or commission, was screwed up or late. They owed me over $1000 in back-paid commission for over a year, and was recently reimbursed over the period of 3 months, aside from the few hundred they still owe. I got my old phone (before it got stolen) online and paid a ONE TIME activation fee. Then, on my bil, I got charged, again! Has this happened to anyone, and what did you do? My mom just paid the bill but she's still calling Cingular about it. TIA!! 😁

I had the V3 for about 2 weeks, and didn't really like it. Download speeds were slower than my V400, video playback was choppy, i got the "white screen" problem numerous times, not a very versatile phone, i couldn't tell what button i was pushing unless i looked, i felt like i would break it almost everytime i used it...... and aside from all that I didn't even pay for it. I recently was sent the 551, and I am quite happy with it. It's the good 'ol V400 with a bunch of extra ****:EDGE, Bluetooth, Video rec/play, better call quality etc. MY ADVICE: DON'T WASTE YOUR $500 DOLLARS JUST SO YOU CAN LOOK COOL....and you won't even look cool.

I was wondering if i can record a video with a nokia phone or sony erricson and be able to send the recording to any phone that is on the gsm network no matter what the other phone manufacturer is. CAN i do this or can u only send movie clips to other people that have the same phone as u? any help or if anyone can clear this up for me that will be great.

I'm new here to Phone Scoop as a registered member but have surfed the site quite a bit recently. I was actually wondering if I could get some advice from anyone regarding a phone from cingular.

I'm going to be switching from Verizon to Cingular and have been trying to research phones as much as I can from website and magazine reviews. I am actually going to begin an internship in January in D.C and I am not permitted to have a camera phone where I am going to be working. Personally, I can't stand the fact that it seems every new phone must have a camera phone with video clips. However, I will save my frustration for another day.

I am basically looking for an excellent phone that will be used in an business environmen...

😁 Can someone fill me in on Cingular's Xpress mail feature? There really is not an overabundance of training material for Cingular's Data plans and I am trying to learn as much as possible. Is the Xpress mail feature/service available on any PDA/smartphone device and is it considering a push-mail system? What are the handset requirements to be able to utilize this service/feature?

I just got a call from a guy who was transferred to me from an SST rep. The guy told me the rep said he tried everything to fix his voicemail, and then sent him to me to do a warranty exchange....FOR VOICEMAIL. VOICEMAIL.
I told the guy voicemail has NOTHING to do with your handset, it's a platform. And when I checked snooper, the call forwarding to voicemail wasn't provisioned. Yeah...you tried everything buddy.

so far the only change that I read about, was that effective Jan 1st, 2005 you will only have 30 days from the date you purchase the phone to add lockline.

and about some kind of "matching program"

I have noticed something very disturbing on this forum and in most of the threads. I would assume that most of the people that post in here are adults and are above childishness.I find it very unprofessional to start name calling someone because you do not agree with their point of view. Honestly look at what the other person is saying and understand what they are trying to say. It is stupid to insult a customer (especially their intelligence) as they are what makes this industry tick. If we start losing customers left and right because we give off the impression that we dont want to help them and do not care about their issue then we will be out of a job. Its as simple as that.
